Late at night, at the Ashford study; Clara, Ethan, and Robert sat in silence, everyone lost in thought. Clara and Ethan had just been in a long discussion where she opened up about the operation set for the next day, and the two had invited Robert to share the news with him. But at the moment, Clara thought of how the news would be broken and whether Robert would understand her proposal, and whether he would support them. She knew she couldn't go on with her plan without involving him. She stared at him as it hit her that this was the first time she was going to talk to him since the scandal broke. Her anger had died down, but she still blamed him, especially for making Sofia sign an NDA, and for threatening Ethan not to share the news of their son with her. She understood him, but she hoped he would also understand where she was coming from, as a mother.
Ethan was the first to speak.
"Dad," he began quietly, looking directly at his father. "We have some news to share with you."
