Chapter 10 - Danzo and Satoshi's Back and Forth

Time passed bit by bit.

Satoshi and Kakashi stood facing each other without a word.

During this time, various people who heard the explosion rushed to the scene. Suddenly, a series of urgent footsteps approached from a distance.

The first to arrive were Inaho and Tekka, who were also members of the Konoha Military Police Force.

After seeing the Root members lying on the ground, they silently thought, 'Good riddance.'

It would be even better if your boss, Danzo, were dead. It's just that these people dying is a bit troublesome.

"Satoshi, what happened?"

Staoshi answered, "These guys actually tried to harm Konoha villagers. I suspect they are spies sent by other villages."

Hearing this, Inaho and Tekka's eyes widened.

Wow, you cleared it up with just one sentence.

"Where is the villager you mentioned? He wasn't injured, was he?"

Naruto peeked out from behind Satoshi. "I'm fine."

Tekka: !

Inaho: ?

No, buddy, it's fine for you to protect the villager.

But who told you to get so close to the Jinchuriki?

If Danzo found out about this, he would go crazy and start biting people.

"This… Naruto is indeed a villager, isn't he, Tekka?"

"Of course, Naruto is not only a villager, but also, well, a yellow-haired villager."

"Then why don't you, Satoshi, take Naruto to get a check-up first, and leave this to us?"

Whoosh... Whoosh... Whoosh...

Several figures appeared behind Kakashi.

"Satoshi, come back to Anbu with us for investigation."

Then, there was Torune, who wasn't killed by the explosive tag.

"No, Satoshi must be handed over to Danzo-sama."

Just as the three parties were at a stalemate, Kakashi's ninja dog came to deliver a message.

"Hokage-sama wants to see Satoshi."

Hearing this, Kakashi felt as if a heavy burden had been lifted.

Hokage-sama has personally given the order, Satoshi, you can't possibly disobey, can you?

"Satoshi, let's go. Don't make things worse."

Satoshi's eyes darted around as he said, "Okay, then Naruto's fishing rod…"

He looked at Inaho and Tekka, and found their expressions were as complex as pie charts.

What time is it, and he's still thinking about fishing rods?

Is he saying he's big-hearted or can't distinguish between priorities?

"Tenzo will handle Naruto's matter."

"Thank you then."

Soon, Kakashi and Satoshi arrived at the Hokage's office.

The two pushed open the door and saw Danzo angrily scolding the Uchiha's various actions.

"Hiruzen, the Uchiha are really going too far now. Today they dare to kill Root members, tomorrow they will dare to rebel."

"Danzo, don't always talk about rebellion, rebellion, rebellion. Change your words…"

"Hiruzen! Haven't you realized the seriousness of the problem yet?!"

"Ahem." Kakashi coughed, interrupting their conversation.

"Hokage-sama, I've brought Satoshi."

Hearing this, Danzo turned his head and aimed his fire at Satoshi.

"Uchiha brat, who instructed you to approach the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki? Fugaku? Or is your entire clan involved in this conspiracy?"

Satoshi pouted, 'Give me a break, Fugaku is still playing both sides right now.'

If Fugaku had that courage, your grave would be three meters high by now.

Clearly, Hiruzen also felt a bit uncomfortable with Danzo's immediate accusation.

During such a sensitive period, one must be careful about what they say and do. Moreover, Satoshi might have inherited Kagami's will.

Hiruzen believed that Satoshi still loved the village from the bottom of his heart.

"Danzo, calm down."

"Hiruzen, how can you expect me to calm down?"

Danzo took out a scroll, densely filled with records of Satoshi's actions during this period.

"Last week, Satoshi privately contacted Naruto, and the two had a half-hour conversation."

"Today, he found Naruto again."

"Not only that, he also killed six Root members, and Torune was seriously injured."

"Adding up all these crimes, even executing you would not be excessive."

Hiruzen picked up his pipe and took a deep puff. His contact with Naruto, he could barely explain away. But killing six Root ninja, that's a serious crime.

Could it be that Satoshi has been assimilated by the radical faction within the Uchiha and has become a ninja who wants to resist the village with force?

Danzo noticed that Hiruzen didn't speak, and thought he agreed with his statement.

Hiruzen, you finally made the right decision.

Just as Danzo was instructing his subordinates to detain and interrogate Satoshi, Satoshi took a half-step forward and stared directly at Danzo.

"Danzo-sama! What is your intention in slandering a member of the Konoha Military Police Force?!"

"Konoha Military Police Force?" Danzo then noticed the Konoha Military Police Force insignia on Satoshi.

"So what if it's the Konoha Military Police Force! You rabble, you almost destroyed Konoha back then!"

"How dare you!" Satoshi let out a hysterical roar.

"Establishing the Konoha Military Police Force was the will of Second Hokage Tobirama-sama, are you questioning Tobirama-sama's decision?!"

"Presumptuous! Who allowed you to speak to me like that?!"

"Who allowed you to question Tobirama-sama's decision?! You say I'm rebelling, I think you, Danzo, are the one trying to rebel!"

Danzo and Satoshi exchanged words, one after another, and Hiruzen was troubled beyond belief.

As for Kakashi, he now just wanted to find a hole to crawl into and pretend he was never there.

These topics were too explosive, not something a mere Anbu captain like him should hear.

Hiruzen, realizing that something was amiss, cleared his throat, "Danzo, Satoshi, both of you watch your words."

He once again shifted his gaze to Satoshi. "Satoshi, what exactly do you want to do with Naruto?"

Satoshi sighed slightly, looking helpless. "Am I to be accused of rebellion just for treating a hungry orphan to a full meal?"

Hearing this, Hiruzen was silent for a while.

Satoshi suddenly elevated the topic to such a level that Hiruzen found it difficult to respond.

At this moment, the troublemaker Danzo jumped out again.

"Slick talk! Was killing Root members without reason today also for the sake of protecting a companion?"

Satoshi nodded vigorously, looking as if it was only natural. "Of course, I saw a group of strange ninjas rush at me with swords without a word. If I didn't kill them, should I wait for them to kill the villagers?"

"Bastard!" Danzo gritted his teeth in anger.

"What strange ninjas, those were my subordinates."

"Hiss…"

Satoshi gasped.

"Danzo-sama's subordinates attempted to kill Naruto?"

"You!"

Danzo felt his head buzzing. This damned Uchiha's ability to sow discord was truly exceptional. He was about to have high blood pressure.

"Danzo-sama, you can't blame me for this. Your subordinates didn't announce themselves, so what does that have to do with me?"

After saying that, Satoshi pointed to Kakashi at the side.

"If you don't believe me, ask Kakashi-senpai."

Kakashi didn't expect to be involved in this.

Danzo sternly questioned Kakashi, "My members didn't identify themselves?"

Kakashi hesitated for a moment before saying, "I indeed didn't hear the Root members identify themselves."

He wasn't lying. Those people were slaughtered by Satoshi before they even had a chance to speak. It's just that for some reason, Kakashi didn't mention it.

Danzo, hearing this, was filled with anger.

"Kakashi, you actually colluded with the Uchiha, do you know how serious a crime that is?!"

"Enough!" Hiruzen slammed the table.

"Danzo, don't say another word."

Hiruzen felt that Danzo might have gone crazy, trying to bite everyone.

Kakashi was the Fourth Hokage's student, a hero who emerged from the Third Great ninja War.

If he had problems, then was there any good person left in all of Konoha?

As for Satoshi… in principle, Satoshi indeed had issues.

But setting aside the facts, was Danzo not at fault?

The more crucial point was that Hiruzen felt Danzo was becoming increasingly excessive. He had done many things behind his back lately.

Anyone unaware would think he was the Hokage appointed by Tobirama-sensei. He needed a good scolding.

As for Satoshi, he wasn't yet at the level where he needed a scolding.
