The first few chapters are a build-up and transition.
"Mama! We're home!" Isaac ran into the house, and the blonde beauty, who was preparing dinner, walked out with a slight smile. "Thank you so much, Mr. Kahn."
"No, it's what I should do. If it weren't for this little rascal Isaac, we wouldn't know how much loss we would have suffered." Uncle Kahn carried the apples into the house. "Oh, Mrs. Salai, the village chief asked me to tell you that it's time for Isaac to learn to read. He wants you to send Isaac to his house for lessons in a few days if you have time. After all, the Children will all go out to sea to make a living in the future, and being illiterate won't do."
"That's truly too kind of the village chief!" Salai smiled, and her beautiful smile instantly made the sky, the earth, and all of nature lose their color. Uncle Kahn was a bit stunned, only mechanically responding and then mechanically leaving.
"My sweet Isaac, go play for a bit. There will be delicious apple pie soon." Salai kissed Isaac and turned to walk into the house.
Salai touched her stomach; it seemed she hadn't eaten all day. This situation was common in this not-so-affluent village. The entire island wasn't large, and arable land was scarce. Fortunately, this island was a spring island, so they could still survive. Shaking off distractions, Salai focused all her attention on the stove, because of the pirate invasion, her little darling hadn't eaten all day either. She had to make a delicious meal that would fill her son's belly to the brim!
At this moment, Isaac sat on a stone, eyes closed. This was his favorite form of entertainment. There were only nine households in the entire village, and not many Children were similar in age to Isaac. Now, they were all at home helping with the damage caused by the pirate invasion. Not everyone had that much strength.
At this time, an image of the entire island and the surrounding sea appeared in Isaac's mind. Isaac looked down at the scenery from a God's Perspective. He could clearly see every person on the island; the closer they were to him, the clearer they appeared. Isaac could even see a black katydid with swaying antennae fifty meters away from him, looking very majestic. But for the ocean around the island, he could only see a general outline.
Isaac once thought everyone was like him. He would tell others what he could see, but everyone else thought it was a Child's nonsense, until Isaac discovered the approaching pirates in advance, and only then did the villagers believe Isaac.
Isaac realized that he seemed to be different from others... "Isaac, come back to eat!" This was Mama's voice. Isaac immediately opened his eyes and followed the scent home.
The sweet smell of apple pie wafted into Isaac's nostrils, and his stomach immediately rumbled. Tears instantly and shamelessly streamed down from the corners of his mouth. "Long live Mama!" Isaac pounced on the table and began to devour the apple pie.
"My sweet Isaac, after you finish eating, deliver some to every household in the village. When you come back, I'll teach you how to write your own name," Salai said.
"Mmm! (Okay) *hiccup* *hiccup*"
"Really, eat slowly. No one is fighting you for it. See, you've choked."
By the time Isaac returned home, it was already quite late. After all, when such a cute little Child comes to deliver things to your house, wouldn't you kiss, hug, and lift him high? Especially Amy, she practically dragged Isaac into her house.
"Alright, little Isaac, this is your name. Watch carefully, you'll at least need to know how to write it in the future."
"Okay!"
Mrs. Salai suddenly hesitated as she put pen to paper, her expression conflicted, as if she was making some major decision... "Mama, what's wrong?" Isaac looked at his mother. He had never seen his mother with such an expression. What was wrong? Could it be that Mama didn't know how to write her own name either?
"Whew~~" Salai took a deep breath as if she had made some significant decision.
"My sweet Child, this is your full name." Salai wrote stroke by stroke, her handwriting delicate yet strong. "Ainbes D. Isaac, this is your full name."
"Remember this: unless it's someone you are closest to or you are strong enough, never reveal your full name, especially the ainbes surname!" Salai was rarely so serious.
Seeing his usually gentle and somewhat unreliable mother so serious, Isaac nodded firmly, and then asked, "Then, how strong is 'strong enough'?"
Salai smiled. He was a Child after all; his focus was different from adults. "Hmm—when Isaac can punch a mountain apart, that'll be enough."
"Huh? That exaggerated? Can humans achieve that?" Isaac was a bit confused. Punch a mountain apart? Was Mama joking?
"You can achieve it, Isaac." Salai caressed Isaac, and it was as if that heroic man appeared before her eyes. "Alright, now learn to write these characters. You can only sleep after you've learned them~"
"Okay!" Isaac was full of fighting spirit, all for the apple pie!
