I'm David, seventeen years old.
My sister and I have been living alone ever since our parents died in what they called an *accident* — an accident caused by some of the Outcasts who attacked the area where my parents happened to be.
They died two years ago. I was fifteen back then, and my sister was eighteen.
We also have a little brother, Zack, who was five at the time.
Now, two years after that tragedy, the three of us live together in the apartment our parents left behind.
My sister works long hours alongside her studies just to take care of us.
Every time I think about that, I can't help but feel weak.
Mina placed the breakfast on the table — eggs and a bit of meat.
After a quiet breakfast, I grabbed my bag and rushed out before I could be late for school.
It was a calm morning, but I had this strange feeling… the kind of calm that comes before a storm.
Still, I hoped the day would pass just like any other.
Before students enter the school, they're tested to see if there are any *awakened* among them.
