"Hey are you going to work today??" Liam asked me while sitting on my bed.
"No Liam,please can I take a day off today?? I'm really not feeling well and my mind is a mess right now," I replied in a sleepy voice.
"It's okay Ava I understand but please you need to pull yourself together because this is a job and we need you back to carry on with your job at the office," he said.
"Yes Liam I understand and by the end of today,I will be back to normal I assure you," I replied.
"Okay then have a good day…oh by the way,I made some breakfast and it's on the table so don't starve yourself in bed when there's something to eat," he told me.
He left my room and I first closed my eyes to get ready to face reality.
I got up and first hit the bathroom to freshen up and it really helped because it made my body a bit relaxed…I covered my body in a bathrobe because I didn't have any spare clothes.
I went to the living room to get something to eat because I was seriously starving since I didn't have supper last night and there's no way I could eat after what happened.
I saw a bag down just near the table with a note,
"Get changed in these clothes I just bought….hope they fit you because I was just estimating your size,"
Wow!! Liam just bought me clothes!!! He is so kind…I got my phone and thanked him through a text.
I finished my breakfast and carried the bag to the bedroom to try on the clothes and surprisingly they all fit me well.
After deciding what to put on,I sat in front of the dressing mirror to do some light make up but after a few seconds,my phone started ringing.
"Yes Ava,I got your message," my lawyer said on the other side of the call.
"Yes,uhm can we meet in the next hour so that we process the papers?" I asked him.
"Yeah sure,whenever you're ready," he replied.
"Okay then,I'll text the address where to meet from later on," I told him before hanging up.
My phone had many missed calls from Herman but I didn't return the calls because he is the last person I would like to talk to right now.
I got done with everything and texted the lawyer the name of the restaurant where he will find me before leaving the house.
I texted Liam where I was going and that I was going to meet my lawyer so that he doesn't get worried incase he comes back before me and doesn't find me home.
I reached the restaurant and I was preparing to pull out my phone to dail my lawyer's number when I saw his car coming in.
He came and joined me on the table and we ordered something to drink as we talk.
"So how are you Ava??" He asked.
"Well,I would be lying if I say I'm fine," I replied.
"Tell me what happened??" He asked while sipping on his drink.
"He is a liar,he is a goddamn liar and all this while I was blinded by his lies," I replied.
"Okay,so give me details of what really happened," he insisted.
I told him everything but he couldn't believe it either because he also believed that Herman was a respected businessman but we were all fed on lies.
"I'm so sorry Ava that this had to end like this…wow!! He really played his cards pretty well,I'm truly impressed," he leaned back in his seat.
"So can we process the divorce papers right away?? Because I don't want to spend any more time in this fake marriage please," I asked him.
"Yes it can be done right away but I need to do this the right way…so can you help me with something?" He asked.
"Yah what is it?" I questioned him.
"Can you call your husband to come over??" He asked.
"You mean to come over here??" I frowned.
"Yes please,I need to first talk to both of you before we proceed to the court to sign those papers," he explained.
"Okay then let me call him up," I pulled put my phone and called him up.
"Come and find me out here at *** restaurant," I hang up before he replied.
"Ava you didn't wait for his reply,what if he can't make it??" He asked.
"He was dying to talk to me so he can't miss this chance of meeting me here," I replied.
We sat there waiting for him and in less than thirty minutes,he joined us on the table.
"Herman, that was fast," the lawyer said while shaking his hand.
"I was around this place…I didn't know you were here as well," he said.
"Yah Ava didn't want to disclose it to you over the phone," my lawyer told him.
"Ohh I understand…so what's up?? Ava how are you babe?" He asked while stretching his hand to touch mine but I removed it before touching it.
"Lawyer, let's get started please,tell him why you called him here," I entreated.
"Well,uhm Mr.Herman,I called you here because your wife here is not happy about your deeds and I believe you know why? So she asked me to process the divorce papers and before proceeding I wanted to talk to both of you," lawyer uttered.
"What?? Ava please don't do this to me…we can talk about this please," he begged me but I looked the other way.
"You didn't give me a chance to talk to me but instead went ahead to make such a decision!!! Babe please let's first talk through all this I'm begging you," he touched my hand but I turned and glared at him.
"There's nothing to talk about and my decision is final so we are definitely going to sign these papers so that you have your peace and carry on with your gigs…please lawyer give us a date so that we can come and sign those papers so that everyone can be free," I asked him.
"Okay Ava I will get back to you in less than a week," Lawyer said.
"Thank you so much,I will be waiting for your call then," I got up,shoke his hand and walked away from there.
