Before stepping in the car,Herman pulled my hand and pushed back the door.
"Hey what's wrong with you??" I asked him.
"Come on Ava,let's not act like we are strangers…every married couple gets their ups and downs but this doesn't mean that they sign divorce papers right away when they face the downs!" He said.
"Yes I agree but not all married men are strippers…look Herman,there's nothing more to talk about here because I already made my decision and that's final,"I pushed him away and opened the door of my car.
Without giving him any chance to stop me,I sped off from there and went back to Liam's place.
I walked to my room and threw my body on the bed with my eyes closed in order to calm down. I don't know when sleep took over me but I heard Liam's voice and I slowly opened my eyes.
"Hey when did you come back??" I asked in my sleepy voice.
"A while ago and when I came to check on you,you were in deep sleep so I let you be but now I'm done preparing dinner so I came for you," he replied.
"Oh my God!! you shouldn't have…I'm sorry that after a long day at work,you still had to come back here and prepare dinner," I slapped myself in the face.
"No Ava,you don't have to blame yourself…It's definitely okay with me preparing dinner for us after all. After a few minutes,the food gets ready," he gave me a warm smile.
"Liam I know it's okay with you but I had to do it since it's me who stayed home," I proclaimed.
"Okay next time better…now come with me and we eat our food before it gets cold," he offered me his hand and we walked to the table.
"Take a seat here ma'am," he said sarcastically and pulled a chair for me.
I settled down and he also took a seat opposite to mine then we started eating.
"Damn Liam, have you ever thought of opening up a restaurant?? You got magic hands dude," I complimented him.
"Oh thank you Ava,but if I'm to open up a restaurant,I would need a beautiful lady sitting in this room with me to be the face of that restaurant so that we get many clients and it can blow up," he said while giving me a smile and I think I kinda blushed.
"Of course I will be glad to help," I replied.
"Oh by the way Ava,I got your message…so tell me how did it go??" He asked me.
"Uhm I met up with my lawyer and Herman then I concluded that I want a divorce,"I replied
"Oh wow! I didn't know you would come up with such a decision so soon!! Ava are you really sure about this?" He asked me.
"Yes I have never been more sure about a thing than right now,Liam I can't stand living with a liar as my husband…no,at least not in this life," I replied
"Okay I get you but please take some time and rethink about this issue and maybe find ways of talking with Herman so that you can patch things up," he suggested
"Liam,Herman is the last person I would want to sit down with and talk to…I just pray today will be the last day to ever meet him again in my life," I replied in an angry tone.
"I'm sorry Ava if I pushed it too far…just know I respect your decision," he apologized and I just nodded then we finished up eating our food.
I helped in cleaning the dishes before heading back to my room.
"Goodnight Ava,hope you have a peaceful night," he wished me
"Thank you Liam and I hope to have a peaceful night," I gave him a smile.
"Oh in case of anything,I'm just next door…feel free to disturb me whenever,"he said.
"Yeah sure I will," I replied.
I walked back to my room and took a shower to freshen up, then I went to bed to put my mind to rest but I first set my alarm because I want to go back to work the following day.
In the morning,my alarm did its job like I expected and I woke up to do my morning routine and moved to the kitchen to make some breakfast before Liam woke up.
In the next fifteen minutes,I saw Liam walking to the kitchen and he was surprised to see me awake.
"Hey, why are you so up this early??" he asked.
"Uhm,I wanted to prepare some breakfast for us before going to work," I replied
"Wait,I see you're already dressed up!! Are you resuming office work today??" he asked
"Yes Liam,I think I'm ready to resume." I replied
"Oh okay if you say so though I thought you still need more time for yourself to be mentally stable once again," he said.
"Well,I think it's better for me to go back to work other than staying here alone and giving my mind a chance to start thinking about certain things which might lead to depression," I replied
"Yeah in that case you're absolutely right…it's easier to divert your mind at work than when you're here at home all alone," he agreed with me.
We had our pancakes which I had prepared before leaving and he first dropped me to the hotel where I was with Herman to get my car because I left it there when Liam picked me up that night.
I followed him to the office and since we are sharing the office with Liam,it felt safe when it was him in my working space.
I received a text message on my phone and it was from Herman's kid brother whom we work with here and he wanted to meet me during our lunch break but I wondered why he wanted to see me.
I told Liam about it and he said it's okay I can go and meet him…when lunch break reached,I texted him to find me at the office dining area and in the next five minutes he joined me on the table.
"Hey Ava good to see you,thank you for accepting to meet me…I searched for you yesterday but our boss Liam informed me that you were absent but luckily today,I saw you walking in,in the morning," he said.
