Chapter 3 - Time to brawl

The way the world system worked was not surprising. The strong will always overthrow the weak. Nobody gave two shits about anybody regarded as a weakling. And it was the same for Chuck. Even his own family tried to get rid of him on several occasions. But the only reason as to why they didn't publicly disown him was because at the end of the day, he was still part of their family.

And now that Chuck acquired a system that might just be the very thing to pull him out of his miserable weakness, he wasn't going to take it for granted. He was going to reap the full benefits of the system, and make sure that everyone that ever called him weak, regretted it.

But it isn't going to be an easy road. The quest he received is requesting for him to reduce his HP by 50 and 80 percent, meaning that in order to grow stronger, he must still have to experience the usual torture and humiliation by his superiors.

This is why today, Chuck decided to do something he never dreamed of doing. He was going to attend the combat lesson class.

The combat lesson class was specified for elite students that wanted to hone their skills and perfect it in the most elegant way possible. And as for Chuck, he didn't even have any skill, talk less or actually take a combat lesson.

This option was out of his league, but he had to do it because there, he will find his torturer.

The extracurricular classes in the academy were divided into the combat classes and the non-combat classes. The non-combat classes, which Chuck attended usually, were specified for students that had no potential to progress forward. They were given other forms of power at their disposal.

Most of the time Chuck would go to the forgery department, in the non-combat section, to try to create weapons for himself. He'd the beast cores extracted from the chest of dead ballistic beasts, to make weapons for himself.

Either he made worthless weapons, or he absorbed the crystal, hoping that it'll make him less weak.

But today was going to be different. Today was about trying to level up using any means possible, so Chuck had decided to head to the class of the elites. The level of mages are divided into five stages.

Neophyte,

Adept,

High magus,

Archmage,

Grand Archmage,

Divine magus.

Chuck was only at the neophyte level, the weakest of all levels. The combat lesson class consisted of mages that were at the adept, the High magus stage, and a few neophyte staged students.

Currently, only three mages in the world had managed to reach the divine magus level. They were considered God-like beings, as their level of power was more than devastating. They had the power to level cities, and topple the strong hold of several guilds.

Chuck, now aspiring to be a high level mage, set out on a new task to make research on his new found source of potential power.

He made his way to the grand dojo, where he could see several students going in and out. Reaching the entrance, he couldn't help but marvel at the sight in front of him.

The dojo was a grandiose hall with enough space to easily fit a thousand students. He could see fighting mats and rings situated at every point in the room. He could also see several engraving of certain fighting skills, carved on the wall with such perfection and precision.

This was the very first time that Chuck had been in any combat based hall, and his excitement took the better of him. He started surveying every corner, trying to check out everything worth looking out for.

More students started entering inside the dojo, as the space was beginning to fill up with more people. Some of which were strong, and some of which were weak. One particular student that stood out compared to the other was the silver haired beauty, Kaiden.

She was the kind of beauty that could make guys zone out of reality. And she wasn't just gorgeous, she was a mage at the stage of a high magus, meaning that she was stronger than most people her age.

She walked majestically, into the hall, as aura seeped through her being, making most of the guys out of awe.

"I bet she'd say yes to be if I asked her out"

"You wish? She'd just electrocute you like she did the others. She's fierce… but hot"

"Yeah I heard that her silver hair wasn't from birth. It's because of her special affinity to lightning magic. Maybe if I dyed my hair silver, she'd notice me"

More side talks rippled through the hall as she kept on going. Chuck, still observing the entire arena, caught sight of her and he was quickly stunned.

"Damn. If I had known that the girls here are this sexy, I would have joined the combat class a long time ago," Chuck thought loudly.

"But unfortunately for you, you're not strong enough to even get the attention of the average girl," a voice said from behind.

Chuck turned around to see who had the somewhat familiar voice he just heard. He saw a towering figure that once saved his ass. The dirty blonde haired boy, Erik.

"No offense or anything, but isn't the combat class a little out of your domain," Erik said with a poker face

He was clad in an enchanted over coat, making his figure look even more colossal than he already is

"I probably shouldn't tell him about what happened to me. I should keep this strange system to myself until I've figured out how exactly the existence of such power came to be," Chuck thought.

"Yeah I was hoping to get some fighting experience or something. I haven't given up hope that I will get stronger someday, you know," Chuck said with a faint smile.

"Keep hoping, friend," they both headed to a secluded corner of the hall to wait for the teacher in charge of their dojo to arrive. Within a few minutes, a tall, bald headed man clad in a ninja-looking attire appeared in the middle of the training hall, from thin hair.

His sudden appearance startled a few students.

"Hey look, the bald ninja is here," a student joked.

"I bet he sleeps in that attire when he goes to bed."

Teacher Zhul was given the nickname "the bald ninja" because his dressing style made him look like a secret ninja assassin, on a mission to eliminate his targets.

Teacher Zhul amplified his voice, by controlling the air and sound vibration around him, making his voice sound louder.

"Alright everyone, we don't have all day. Before we start with today's session, we'll need to warm up a little," teacher Zhul commenced with a straight voice.

"I'll need two volunteers to be the first group to spar. Now, who will it be?"

As soon as Zhul was done, a particular silver haired girl stepped forward without hesitation. Kaiden was ready for her sparring partner, regardless of whomever it may be.

"So! Who is willing to go up against Kaiden? Nobody?" Zhul's eyes studied the crowd as he noticed that nobody wanted to face Kaiden. Either they thought she was too beautiful to be fought against, or they were just too scared to get their assess beaten up.

"Since nobody wants to volunteer, I will have to pick one of you," teacher Zhul's eyes went through the students, until his eyes landed on someone, whose head was lowered.

"Hey you! The black haired kid, beside the one with the dirty blonde hair, step forward now."

Out of all the people that Zhul could chose to start the first fight, it was Chuck. His mind started racing.
