Chapter 8 – Bibi Dong's Trust
At dawn, Qi Tian woke up and instinctively rubbed his chest. The firm feeling of the pectoral muscle was still there… but something felt off.
"Wait a second—" he froze, eyes widening. "Why aren't you wearing sleepwear again?"
"Hmph! I knew you'd do that!" Bibi Dong's voice sounded in his head, full of smugness.
"So I changed into proper clothes last night!"
Qi Tian sighed helplessly. She really is defensive about this kind of thing…
Still, he was relieved that she didn't go so far as to have a Titled Douluo guard her while she slept. That would've been awkward.
"Fine, fine—you win," Qi Tian conceded, stretching before washing up and tidying his hair.
After a moment, Bibi Dong's tone softened slightly.
"Qi Tian, do you… know about twin martial souls?"
Qi Tian blinked. "Of course I do. Why?"
"Then… Do you know how to resolve the cultivation conflict between them?"
Her voice grew quieter. "The Spirit Hall's records say that the last person who tried to cultivate both martial souls… died. His meridians ruptured under the strain."
Qi Tian's eyes lit up in realization. Ah, right… At this point, Bibi Dong hasn't yet discovered the proper method for cultivating twin martial souls.
"I know how," he said seriously. "But you can't tell anyone about this. Not even your teacher."
Bibi Dong's heart lifted, relief washing over her face. The problem that had haunted her for so long… might finally be solved?
"Quick! Tell me! I swear I won't tell a soul!"
After all, she was the only one in Spirit Hall with twin martial souls. There wasn't much danger in "leaking" it anyway.
"If your method works," she added with a teasing lilt, "I'll even forgive you for… harassing me."
Qi Tian nearly choked. "When did I harass you?! I was checking my own chest muscles!"
Bibi Dong snorted, clearly unconvinced.
"Anyway," Qi Tian continued, ignoring her accusation, "the key to cultivating twin martial souls safely is actually quite simple—strengthen your body and your spiritual power."
"As long as both are strong enough, the conflicting energies of twin martial souls won't overload your meridians or cause you to explode."
"I suggest you focus on cultivating your Death Spider Emperor first. Once you reach the Titled Douluo level, then start attaching soul rings to your second martial soul."
"That's it? Just strengthen my body and Spiritual power?" Bibi Dong frowned, skeptical. "That sounds… too easy."
Qi Tian chuckled. "Easy to say, hard to do. In the future, I trained my body to exhaustion every single day just to keep up."
He added shamelessly, "That's why every morning, I instinctively massage my chest muscles when I wake up. It's not indecent—it's recovery work!"
"Oh…" Bibi Dong blinked, genuinely convinced. "So that's why…"
Qi Tian nodded sagely. "Exactly. So, you should sleep in your pajamas—it helps you rest better and recover faster."
"…Fine," she murmured, though something about the advice still felt suspiciously personal.
Qi Tian went on. "To strengthen your body, training alone isn't enough. You'll also need high-quality soul rings, soul bones, and certain medicinal supplements."
"Soul bones?" she asked.
"Right. And besides soul bones, rare herbs and medicinal treasures can also help."
"What kind of medicines? What kind of treasures?" Bibi Dong pressed eagerly.
Qi Tian lowered his voice mysteriously. "I'll tell you, but you mustn't spread it around. If the Spirit Hall starts buying them all up, the entire continent's prices will skyrocket."
"I see, I see!" Bibi Dong replied, smirking. "You must've been really poor in the future, huh? That's why you're afraid prices will go up and you won't be able to afford anything!"
Qi Tian simply smiled, letting her keep the misunderstanding.
Yeah, right—as if the parallel world's economy could influence this one.
"There's one called whale rubber," he explained. "The nobles use it as an aphrodisiac, but it's actually a powerful body-strengthening medicine."
"Whale rubber, got it." Bibi Dong made a mental note. "I'll look into it."
Then, remembering something, she added, "You mentioned training until exhaustion every day… that's bad for your health."
She paused, then said with a hint of generosity,
"On my desk, there's a medicinal formula—a secret body-recovery bath recipe from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. Consider it your reward."
She had already consulted the Spirit Hall physicians yesterday—the formula was genuine. But to the Hall, it wasn't particularly valuable.
Bibi Dong had made up her mind—no matter what, she would never reveal her twin martial soul secret to Yu Xiaogang.
Instead, she casually allowed him to borrow a few advanced tomes from the higher floors of the Spirit Hall library. That should be enough to keep him busy.
"Prescription?" Qi Tian's eyes brightened as he approached her desk. He carefully memorized every detail of the medicinal formula she'd mentioned.
"Thank you," he said sincerely. "I really need this kind of thing right now."
With this, he could safely push his body to the limit without worrying about lasting damage.
Bibi Dong crossed her arms. "That's all? Your gratitude's pretty cheap, isn't it? You won't even tell me your name!"
Qi Tian froze for a moment, his mind scrambling for a fake name to toss out—
But Bibi Dong interrupted before he could even start.
"Forget it," she said with a smirk. "Even if you told me, it'd just be something you made up. You're afraid I'd use the power of Spirit Hall to hunt you down later, aren't you?"
"…You're not wrong," Qi Tian admitted with a wry grin.
Her violet eyes narrowed slightly. "You're acting suspiciously guilty. Don't tell me—you're actually a man, right?"
She thought back carefully. So far, the only truly questionable thing Qi Tian has done… was that one incident when he accidentally touched her chest.
If he were a woman, that would've been nothing worth fussing over. But his nervous reaction just now? That was definitely the reaction of a man.
"Not exactly," Qi Tian muttered awkwardly. "I'm still just a kid."
"I don't care," Bibi Dong said firmly. "You owe me. Find a way to increase my spiritual power, or I'm not forgiving you."
Qi Tian blinked, half amused, half exasperated. She's learning how to use me more and more efficiently…
Still, it wasn't a bad thing. At least she'd accepted his presence, even if grudgingly.
He thought for a moment, and a name surfaced in his mind—Full Moon Wearing Autumn Dew, one of the immortal herbs from the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.
If he could get that herb in this world… could it boost both their spiritual powers?
At this time in history, the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well probably hadn't been claimed by Dugu Bo yet.
Even if it had, with Spirit Hall's influence, obtaining one immortal herb shouldn't be difficult.
"You've thought of something, haven't you?" Bibi Dong's voice broke his train of thought.
Qi Tian nodded. "Yes. The simplest way is to absorb a Wisdom Skull Bone. That'll directly enhance your spiritual power."
Bibi Dong noted it down carefully, though she was sure he wasn't telling her everything.
Still, she didn't press further—for now.
Three months later…
Time passed in quiet, relentless training.
Every day, Qi Tian alternated between cultivating in his own body and using Bibi Dong's.
His progress was astonishing—his soul power had already risen by two levels.
For someone born with a meager 0.5 innate soul power, even gaining a single level in a year would've been considered impressive.
But under Bibi Dong's overwhelming talent and twin martial souls' influence, he'd managed to advance one and a half levels in less than four months.
Qi Tian now sat cross-legged in a field of Blue Silver Grass. The energy around him pulsed rhythmically—his cultivation speed clearly surpassing what meditation alone could achieve.
He had even tried to emulate Tang San's method—reaching out to sense and resonate with the surrounding Blue Silver Grass, to form a primitive Blue Silver Domain.
Unfortunately, his spiritual power was still far too weak for that. But his control over his own martial soul had made impressive strides.
"Blue Silver Bind!"
Blue Silver Grass burst from his palm, extending nearly two meters as it entwined seamlessly with the surrounding grass.
With a sharp tug, Qi Tian ripped the tangled vines apart—a clean, powerful motion.
As expected, he thought. The Blue Silver Grass martial soul may be fragile, but compared to ordinary plants, it's still far superior in toughness. Of course, it couldn't compare to a genuine Blue Silver Emperor or a soul beast variant yet.
He looked around at the sea of blue-green stalks swaying under the morning light.
If he could plant Ah Yin's seedling here… these grasses might evolve over time. Perhaps, in a few years, this could become an entire Blue Silver Forest.
The mere thought filled him with anticipation. His desire to find the Blue Silver Emperor's seedling burned stronger than ever.
