Chapter 49 - Your Kaiju Are Too Small:-Chapter 49: Race Against Time

For someone like Yoki, who'd only watched a few Ultraman tokusatsu shows, he couldn't possibly imagine what an Ultraman going all-out actually looked like.

When an Ultraman cast off the constraints of budget and appeared in reality, what he displayed was power fully capable of deciding a civilization's fate.

The giant standing at the center of the space maintained his beam's output.

The beam called Spacium—considered by countless people to be a low-power skill—now fell upon the Precursors as a completely devastating strike.

Every Precursor structure in the entire space had been reduced to rubble. Not a trace of their former glory remained.

The Precursors, who fancied themselves a higher civilization, saw all their dignity and arrogance evaporate once true judgment fell.

The Space Garrison of the Land of Light could never be some playtime organization. They were true arbiters who made any invader tremble in fear.

Protect the weak, uphold justice, deliver annihilating strikes against invaders.

Without absolute power, who would dare do such things across the boundless universe?

Even the Alien Baltan—possessing technology beyond their era and a civilization far more advanced than the Precursors—suffered a near-extinction blow after Ultraman discovered their invasion. Two billion invaders learned the consequences of aggression.

To normal civilizations, the Space Garrison of the Land of Light was just a cosmic legend. They rarely witnessed these warriors who silently protected their civilization's progress.

But to invaders, the Space Garrison was a legend that made them flee in terror. Any civilization engaging in violent actions across the universe, plundering resources through war, prayed daily not to be discovered by the Space Garrison.

Once those space police found your evil deeds, you'd discover their methods were far more violent than yours.

Especially the Ultra Brothers. When they really got started, the scene... you could only pray you didn't have pain receptors.

"RUMMMMBLE—"

The space the Precursors had plundered trembled under the giant's beam.

The wronged souls within this dead planet seemed to mock the Precursors' well-deserved retribution.

Amid the endless ruins and Kaiju remains, suddenly—

"BOOM!"

A Kaiju factory—just swept by the beam and reduced to half its height—shook violently.

"ROOOOOAR!"

A giant beast far larger than any Category V Kaiju burst from the rubble. It hurled aside broken structures and roared at the giant, as if symbolizing the Precursors' final desperate struggle.

The Precursors mastered bioweapon cloning technology. Naturally, they also knew how to fuse powerful Kaiju together into even more terrifying monsters.

In Yoki's original plan, this should have been the super Kaiju created ten years later when the Precursors controlled Dr. Newton. But to counter Ultraman, they'd prepared this trump card early.

Using the factory's full capabilities, they'd fused a Kaiju even larger and stronger than the one from the original timeline.

Sharp spikes that could serve as weapons covered its body. Two upward-curving tusks jutted from beneath its gaping maw. It looked like a demon crawling out of hell.

Super Kaiju, also known as Mega-Kaiju (Category VI)

"ROOOOOAR!" Yoki glared at the giant in midair. Controlling this powerful body, his confidence surged.

The enemy didn't have much active time left.

Using this beast to deal with a grunt Ultraman? More than enough.

In midair, the giant had nearly finished erasing the Precursors' civilization. He slowly lowered his arms, stopping the beam's output amid the endless smoke and fire.

Hearing the beast's roar, he turned his head. His bright eyes seemed to appraise the Category VI Kaiju. For a moment, he didn't move.

Scared?

Seeing the giant motionless, Yoki's heart leaped with joy.

Of course—the enemy's active time was almost up. From transformation until now, only a few dozen seconds remained until three minutes. He was about to disappear!

He wasn't attacking directly—this had to be why!

"ROOOOOAR!" Yoki immediately let out a roar. Everything around him shook. The roar even had physical force, lunging toward the giant.

The giant still didn't move.

The final thirty seconds. Let me personally test what you're made of!

"BOOM!"

The super Kaiju leaped with all its might. The rubble beneath its feet shattered from the impact. It reached midair, locking onto the giant—who wasn't even a third of its size.

Its nearly two-hundred-meter body radiated oppressive force. Its tusks thrust forward, ready to impale the giant completely.

"BOOM!"

Its body slammed into the giant. Mountain-like force pressed down continuously.

But soon, it froze.

From a distance, the giant beast seemed to hover in midair. Very strange.

Looking down from the beast's perspective, you could see the red-and-silver giant gripping the underside of its massive head. His two hands held the sharp tusks perfectly.

"What—" Yoki sensed something wrong with the force.

But before it could retreat and pull back—

The giant slowly raised his leg.

"BOOM!"

Unimaginable force erupted instantly in the super Kaiju's chest. At the same time, unbearable pain shot through its tusks. The nearly two-hundred-meter beast flew backward, crashing into the rubble below.

Looking at the giant again—

He held two massive tusks in his hands. Blue blood still dripped from the broken ends.

His gaze remained the same—like looking at a criminal.

"Ugh... damn it." Yoki's massive body rose from the rubble. Checking the damage, he immediately discovered one of the body's three secondary brains had shattered.

The enemy's strength far exceeded his imagination.

Watching him crush ordinary Kaiju hadn't conveyed it. But now, taking a direct hit himself, he clearly felt that unmatched power.

Again with this.

You're telling me this thing is an Ultraman?

"Still, there's hope." Yoki reached into the body and tore out the severely damaged organ. He raised his head, glaring at the giant.

That exchange took another ten seconds.

Just hold out for the remaining twenty seconds. Then they'd win!

The beast's muscles suddenly flexed. It broke into a sprint, racing at extreme speed through the ruins littered with Kaiju remains.

He needed to stall for time.

Survive these final life-or-death twenty seconds!
