Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2 — THE BEARER OF PURE YIN BLOOD

Not long after, Li Xu Xian arrived, carrying a baby girl in his arms. His face was clouded with sorrow as he approached Li Tao Lu.

"Uncle, She Mei has passed away while giving birth. I beg you, please… allow me to raise her child."

Li Xu Xian knelt before his uncle, holding He Chi Mei's baby close. His voice trembled with sincerity—he truly hoped his uncle would grant this one request.

"Stand up, Xu Xian," Li Tao Lu said gently. "I will grant your wish. In fact, I will acknowledge this child as my own granddaughter."

"R–really, Uncle? You're… no longer angry at She Mei?"

Li Xu Xian's eyes widened in disbelief. His heart lifted with joy upon hearing his uncle's words—he never expected forgiveness for He Chi Mei to come so soon.

"Yes, Xu Xian," Li Tao Lu nodded. "You may raise the child here in Kun Lun Sect. After all, she is innocent. I will help you guide her properly, and ensure she never repeats her mother's mistakes."

"Thank you, Uncle. She Mei will surely rest in peace knowing this."

Relief washed over Li Xu Xian. He had finally fulfilled He Chi Mei's final wish. He silently vowed to raise the child as if she were his own daughter.

Deep down, Li Tao Lu felt a pang of guilt. Had he not expelled He Chi Mei, perhaps she might still be alive. Now, the only way to atone for that mistake was to raise her child with care.

"Xu Xian, what is the baby's name?"

Li Xu Xian paused. It had only now occurred to him—the baby didn't have a name yet.

"She hasn't been named. Uncle, would you… give her one?"

Taking the infant from Li Xu Xian's arms, Li Tao Lu looked down at her tenderly. He studied her tiny face for a while, thinking deeply. Then, with a soft smile, he said,

"I shall name her He Xiao Sing. May this child live a life filled with happiness."

As if in response, the baby smiled up at him, waving her little hands in the air with delight.

Seeing her reaction, Li Tao Lu chuckled warmly, his heart melting at the sight.

"Hahaha! What a clever child. You like the name your grandfather gave you, don't you? From today onward, I'll call you Xiao Sing. Be a good girl, my dear."

He held the baby close and planted a gentle kiss on her cheek. Li Xu Xian watched them, his heart swelling with joy. He was certain this child would grow up to be kind and pure-hearted.

But fate had other plans. When He Xiao Sing was nearly one year old, a strange event occurred—an event that would change her life forever.

One day, while learning to walk, Xiao Sing stumbled and scraped her knee. Blood trickled down from the wound—but then, before Li Xu Xian's astonished eyes, the wound closed on its own.

Li Xu Xian froze in disbelief. Shocked and worried, he hurried to report what he had seen to his uncle.

When Li Tao Lu heard this, his expression turned grim. Without hesitation, he took out a small dagger and made a shallow cut on his own hand. Then, he pricked Xiao Sing's finger, letting a few drops of her blood fall onto his wound.

Moments later, the cut on his hand vanished—completely healed, leaving no trace behind.

"Uncle…! Your wound—it's healed! How… how is this possible?!"

Li Xu Xian stared in disbelief. He had never witnessed anything like it.

"Xu Xian," Li Tao Lu said gravely, "if my guess is right… Xiao Sing possesses Pure Yin Blood. Only Pure Yin Blood can heal injuries in an instant."

His voice trembled slightly. If he was correct, Xiao Sing's life was now in danger. The bearer of Pure Yin Blood was a rare and coveted existence among cultivators. Such a person could cure any ailment—and for those who practiced dual cultivation with her, their cultivation would soar dramatically. In short, a girl with Pure Yin Blood was a priceless treasure—and a target.

Li Xu Xian fell silent. He had heard the legends of Pure Yin Blood before, though he had always dismissed them as myths. But now, faced with this undeniable truth, he could no longer doubt it.

"Xu Xian," said Li Tao Lu, his tone firm, "we must confirm this. Come with me to see your grandmaster. Only he can verify if Xiao Sing truly possesses Pure Yin Blood."

Li Xu Xian nodded in understanding. Together, they set out at once to visit his grandmaster.

Their destination was the Forbidden Grounds of Kun Lun Sect, where the retired elder Ong Hai San resided. He was one of the oldest surviving members of the sect—over a hundred years old—and had long withdrawn from the martial world, devoting his time to meditation and seclusion.

Before they even arrived, Ong Hai San slowly opened his eyes. For reasons unknown, an uneasy premonition stirred within his heart.

"Elder Ong," Li Tao Lu's voice echoed from outside, "your disciple, Li Tao Lu, and your grand-disciple, Li Xu Xian, humbly seek your guidance. May we enter?"

"Enter," came the old man's calm but commanding voice.

Only with Ong Hai San's permission could anyone cross the powerful barrier that guarded the Forbidden Grounds.

A few moments later, the two men stepped inside. When they finally stood before the aged master, they bowed deeply.

"What brings you here so suddenly?" Ong Hai San asked, his sharp gaze studying them both—until it fell upon the baby in Li Xu Xian's arms.

"Bring the child here."

Li Xu Xian stepped forward at once, carefully placing little He Xiao Sing into the old man's arms.
