Ruby's POV
The whole situation felt like stepping into someone else's life.
Even as his gleaming silver Rolls-Royce wound through the hills toward a sprawling estate that looked like it belonged in a magazine, I couldn't shake the feeling that this was all some elaborate mistake.
He still hadn't told me why I was here.
When we walked through the front doors into a foyer that screamed old money and power, I finally couldn't hold back anymore.
"Alpha Elias?"
He paused, turning those steel-gray eyes on me.
"Your sister and Stanley... they won't have a problem with me being here, right?"
"This is my personal residence," he said simply.
My pulse jumped, sending heat racing through my veins. "Right, but that doesn't really answer my question. Why did you bring me here?"
He studied me with that unreadable expression that made my skin prickle with awareness. Standing there under his intense gaze, I felt like every nerve ending in my body had suddenly come alive.
