Ruby's POV
That single sentence sent my pulse skyrocketing.
"Is there anything else you'd like to include in our arrangement?" he asked.
I hesitated, weighing my options.
The money he was offering already exceeded my wildest expectations. More than enough to clear my mountain of debt and transfer my grandmother to the premium care facility she deserved.
But if I could ask for one thing...
"Could we avoid any physical intimacy during our contract?" I blurted out.
His eyebrow arched slightly, and heat flooded my cheeks instantly.
"I realize how contradictory this must sound, considering what transpired between us previously," I stammered. "But I acted recklessly that night. Desperation clouded my judgment completely."
"Absolutely. Whatever makes you comfortable." He settled back in his chair, appearing completely unaffected.
