The disbelief still hadn't worn off.
Weeks ago, I was nothing more than a shadow in the background. Now somehow I had transformed into Alpha Elias's so-called precious possession.
The shocked silence stretched on for several heartbeats before a reporter finally found his voice.
"Alpha Elias, what exactly transpired? Why did you need to search for this woman? Was there an abduction involved?"
"Someone dared to harm her while operating under my protection. Someone who once held my trust. Their punishment will come swiftly."
His arm encircled my waist possessively as he guided me toward the black sedan. Security personnel formed a protective barrier while Floyd barked orders at the crowd.
"Step back immediately! The Alpha has concluded his statement!"
The vehicle door shut with finality, sealing us away from the chaos outside.
My pulse hammered against my ribs.
Moisture dampened my palms.
