The liberation coursing through my veins felt intoxicating. No more groveling, no more pretending to be someone I wasn't in this suffocating mansion. I had reached my breaking point, and honestly, it felt incredible.

My happiness was the only thing that mattered now.

"You heard what I said. That was me telling you to go straight to hell," I declared, grinning as I raised my middle finger in his direction.

His face flushed crimson with rage.

"The audacity!" he snarled. "You are without question the most crude, insolent, and pathetic woman who has ever darkened our Alpha's doorstep. You are completely unworthy of his attention-"

I stretched dramatically and yawned. "Your thoughts are completely irrelevant to me. Am I free to go now?"

I pivoted toward my room. Priority number one: finding a way to bring Mrs. Maxwell back. I couldn't tolerate another moment with this pompous dinosaur.

"Hold on."

He scrambled forward, positioning himself in my path.
