Chapter 4 - Porridge and Wine Breakfast

Breakfast was oats porridge with barely any seasoning and the beverage was watered down wine, not tea!

The very sight of it made the modern transmigrator feel awful. However, he was Vincent now. This was the breakfast he had been eating for eighteen years of his life.

Albeit slowly, Vincent tried to eat. The wine was no doubt awful too.

'Who takes alcohol right in the morning?' Vincent sighed.

"Vinny, are you still sad from what your father said?" Baroness Vivienne put down her spoon and asked.

From the time Vincent arrived, his mood seemed low and she wondered whether it was due to that.

Vincent shook his head. "No, mom. I stubbed my toe before and it's still hurting."

The reply was quick and in terms of dialogue, hardly anyone could beat him.

Though, when the ones at the table heard this, they gasped.

"Oh my~" Vivienne said dramatically. "Mom? How endearing…"

Vincent couldn't understand what was happening.

From the side, Vanessa expressed an annoyed look while his father James had his brows knitted.

"You are a grown up, Vincent. Learn some manners." James put down his spoon after saying so. "I'll be heading out first. By the time I'm back, I hope someone educates Vincent."

After James left, breakfast continued normally as if his words didn't mean fart.

Vanessa did not speak much and left with Anastasia to head to town.

Vivienne went to manage government affairs and Vincent was left all alone.

He had nothing better to do so he questioned the system a bit and formulated plans to complete the quests given to him.

After that, he felt like going outside, but was suddenly stopped by an absolute beauty in black dress.

"Mother?" Vincent had learnt from his mistake and used the correct term this time.

Vivienne smiled and shook her head. "Just a little scolding him from his father and my boy changed himself. Sigh, my dear, you don't need to take the words of your father to heart."

Vivienne got close and touched Vincent's face.

The two were in a narrow hallway on the second floor of the manor. It was right outside his room, so it was only them here.

Vivienne smiled gently and booped Vincent's nose. "I really liked how you called me mom today. Anyway, you can't go out right now. You have a meeting with your fiancé, so get dressed first."

"Eh? Fiancé?" Vincent was taken aback. 'What's with this development? Why am I suddenly getting so many surprises after transmigrating?'

"I know. I know. You still are shy about it. But there's really nothing we can do." Vivienne sighed. "They came with the proposal and we really had no reasons to reject as you both were in the right age."

Vincent frowned hearing that. He wanted to hit his head to remember the things of his body's past, but neither the system helped nor did he magically have everything flashback to him.

Having no choice, Vincent stared right into his mother's serene blue eyes and put a hand on her shoulder, making her eyes widen and have her gasp.

"Vinny?" Vivienne was truly taken aback. Her son was never this proactive before or clingy!

"Mother, there is something very important I need to talk to you about." Vincent did his best to be serious.

Contrary to his expectations though, his words achieved an opposite effect. Vivienne had an arrow strike her heart! She was absolutely warmed from the affectation her son was suddenly showering on her!

Watching her dazed expression, Vincent couldn't help but hold her wrist and pull her into his room. There were some things he had to say in private.

A look of anticipation rose in Vivienne's eyes. Just what exactly was happening, she couldn't help but wonder.

Vincent made her sit on his bed and said with a sigh, "I have to come clean to you, mother. Do you remember me shouting in the morning?"

"Yes?" Vivienne came down from her high when this topic was brought up. She was quite concerned when she heard her child scream like that.

"Well…" Vincent pointed at the wooden shelf by his bed. "I was thinking of something when I suddenly slipped and hit my head on this. I don't remember how or what, I just remember being in pain and shouting. After that, everything's been a blur. I'm unable to recall things of the past or the events that have happened. Sigh… it's like a total loss of memory. The only thing I'm glad about is I still know who my family is…"

[Such bullshit. The host is truly a master at being a scumbag.]

'Get lost. Nobody asked you for your commentary. This is an important moment.' Vincent cursed in his mind and continued to narrate.

Vivienne was quiet. She was calmly listening to everything. Though, her hands were trembling and she was having a hard time digesting this.

Her son slipped and fell, and not just that, he had a complete memory wipe?

Vincent knew his story was shitty. He knew his excuse was stupid. There was no way anyone with a sane mind would believe this. And even if his mother loved him unconditionally, she would really be suspicious of him and think of him as an imposter if his habits changed too much.

But there was no problem.

Vincent wasn't worried.

He kept bullshitting and finally, before his mother could voice out any questions, said softly in his mind, 'Use the Charm Token.'

A token manifested in his hands and broke into pieces.

Vivienne's eyes turned blank for a split second before returning to normal.

Immediately, she teared up.

"Oh my, my poor child…" Vivienne stood up and hugged Vincent, suffocating him in his embrace.

For the first time in his life, any maiden put him this close to herself.

And what was supposed to be a warm hug suddenly made Vincent's body temperature soar.

Blood rushed to a place where it shouldn't when Vincent realized…

'Fuck! She isn't wearing a bra!?!'

'Death again!?!' Vincent cursed. This dogshit system really just wanted him dead! What use was there to give him quests? It should just kill him outright!

Vincent had no choice. He didn't know what corruption meant, but since it didn't sound anything good and given how perverted his system was, he had a hint of things.

The mood was already set. Vincent could feel two firm beads while his head was planted in fluff valley.

He already could tell that she wasn't wearing a bra but to confirm his doubts further, Vincent began moving his hands as if he was struggling.

"Lefff meefff gffoooo!" Vincent protested but didn't actually struggle very hard.

"Oh my, how long has it been since I hugged my child like this?" Vivienne felt as if she was eating sweet candy while spoiling Vincent.

Vincent's evil hands moved from her back to her waist, and finally slithered down to a place it shouldn't.

His fingers pressed against something much softer and dug into a slight depression.

"Oh no~!" Vivienne stopped hugging Vincent when she felt this.

'Tsundere Token!' Vincent made haste and used the last token to alter his mother's decision.

As if something clicked her, Vivienne closed her eyes and shook her head with a smile.

"My dear, it seems you've forgotten the etiquettes too and don't know what to do with your hands when hugging a lady. It looks like there's no choice. Mother will have to teach you everything again. But before that… let's… let's wash your fingers first…"

Vivienne had a slight blush from her face and she turned her head to the side when speaking, like a true Tsundere.

Watching this, blood was going to places it shouldn't, but those places didn't require much amount so it now threatened to come out of Vincent's nose.

There was a jar of water in the corner of Vincent's room. Vivienne used it to pour some on his fingers and cleaned it.

"Anyway, since your fiancé is going to be here soon, let's teach you important etiquettes first."
