Chapter 50 - Chapter 49— “offer of cooperation.”

Amelia took over the conversation with a calm yet firm tone. With a graceful motion, she picked up several documents from the table and slid them toward Alvano and Theo.

"Several students have reported that there's a student with a gloomy face, quiet, and who never interacts either inside or outside the classroom," she said, placing her fingers on one of the report sheets. "And after we sorted and confirmed the data… it turns out that the student in question is you, Alvano Darwinson."

Alvano remained silent, his expression calm as if he had already anticipated this. Theo, on the other hand, began to show his impatience.

Amelia continued, her gaze still fixed on Alvano. "Velmont High School is not just an elite school focused on academics. We also uphold social values, communication, and the formation of a harmonious character. We want to ensure that every student feels comfortable and develops in a conducive environment," she explained softly yet with authority. "However, the presence of someone who… doesn't blend in well can create imbalance. That's why we called you here."

Theo, who had been listening the whole time, finally chuckled quietly. A mocking smile formed on his face as he crossed his arms.

"So… that's the reason you called him?" he said with a sarcastic tone. "Calling someone antisocial and then saying they ruin the school's aesthetics? Haven't you done enough small talk? Why don't you just get to the point?"

Alvano glanced at Theo, a little surprised at his unusually aggressive tone.

Nathaniel, who had been silently observing, finally smiled wider. The sly look in his eyes became even clearer, like someone who had just discovered something intriguing.

Theo looked straight at Nathaniel and Amelia. "What exactly does the Student Council plan to do after discovering Alvano's identity?"

Amelia closed the report in her hand with a graceful motion, but there was something behind her calm expression that made the atmosphere even tenser.

Amelia and Nathaniel exchanged glances for a moment. The smile on Nathaniel's face didn't fade in the slightest.

"So, you already know that this isn't just a matter of social behavior, huh?" Nathaniel finally spoke, his voice calm, as if he had expected this answer from the start.

Theo maintained his cold gaze. "You're being too roundabout. If your goal was only to make sure Alvano 'fits in' with this school's standards, you wouldn't need to summon him to the Student Council room like this."

"That's what we wanted to talk about," Nathaniel finally said casually. "But it seems your friend here is a bit too cautious, isn't he?"

Theo just smirked, his eyes sharpening.

"Can you blame me?" he shot back quickly. "After all, you're not exactly people who can be trusted that easily."

Nathaniel rose from his seat, his steps calm but full of meaning. Casually, he walked toward the cabinet in the corner of the room, where Amelia had earlier taken the report documents. He shifted a few files before pulling out one with a solid black cover, then brought it back to the table.

Without saying much, he placed the document in front of Alvano and Theo.

Alvano glanced at the black cover, his eyebrows slightly furrowing. "What's this?" he asked, his tone wary.

Theo, who had sensed something strange from the start, examined the document with a probing look.

Nathaniel leaned back in his chair, the faint smile still on his lips. "We know that you possess a superpower, Alvano Darwinson."

In an instant, Alvano's body stiffened. His eyes widened slightly, shocked by a statement that shouldn't have been possible for anyone to know. So far, the only person who knew his secret was Theo.

Theo, on the other hand, stayed calm. He had suspected from the beginning that the Student Council wouldn't summon them just for a social issue. This was precisely the reason he came along with Alvano—to protect him.

Nathaniel smiled wider, his expression filled with curiosity. "So, how about you explain to us what kind of power you actually have?"

Alvano didn't respond immediately. In an instant, his mind raced, trying to find the best way to avoid this trap. Then, he let out a short sigh and put on a confused expression. "H-hah, a-are you joking?" he said casually, his tone deliberately natural.

Beside him, Theo suppressed a laugh. Alvano's way of responding was so typically him.

However, Amelia, who had been silent until now, finally spoke. "You don't need to pretend anymore, Alvano." Her gaze was sharp, as if it could pierce through lies. "You're already in the right place for someone like you."

Nathaniel leaned back in his chair, folding his arms across his chest. His gaze was sharp, full of curiosity.

"Hmm... If I had to guess, your power is something like telekinesis? You can move objects from afar just by thinking about them?" he said casually, as if discussing a conspiracy theory from a horror movie.

Hearing that, Alvano felt a wave of unease wash over him. His hand reflexively reached into his pocket, searching for something to grip to steady himself.

Theo, noticing his nervousness, immediately patted Alvano's shoulder, leaned in, and whispered, "They already know, but I still can't figure out when they found out."

Alvano tried to keep his expression neutral, but his heart pounded rapidly.

Nathaniel kept talking, trying to dig deeper. "Or maybe your power is something more interesting? Reading minds, controlling elements… or perhaps something we've never seen before?"

At that moment, Theo decided to take control of the situation. He glanced briefly at Alvano, signaling him to stay calm. Then, in a firm tone, without hesitation, he said, "Then, do you have any concrete proof of this accusation?"

Amelia, who had been quiet for a while, finally spoke. With a calm expression, she said, "We do."

She looked at Theo, then continued, "That day, behind the first-year building in the garden… I saw it myself. You told Alvano to move the coin you threw."

Theo fell silent. For the first time in this whole confrontation, he couldn't immediately refute.

Nathaniel smiled faintly. "We wouldn't act without evidence."

Theo took a deep breath. Now it was clear—denying it would only make things worse. After thinking for a moment, he finally said, "Alright. I admit it, Alvano isn't an ordinary human. He has a superpower."

Alvano turned to him, shocked at how easily Theo admitted it. But he knew Theo must have a reason.

With a cautious look, Theo asked, "So, after knowing this fact, what are you going to do?"

Amelia didn't hesitate for a second as she replied, "We want to invite him to join the Student Council."

Theo had anticipated that answer, but he still had many questions.

Before he could speak, Nathaniel interrupted with a statement that stunned both of them.

"Because actually... every member of the Student Council also possesses superpowers like Alvano."

For a moment, the room fell silent.

Theo stared deeply at Nathaniel, trying to find any sign of deceit on his face.

Meanwhile, Alvano's eyes widened in disbelief. "What...?" he muttered softly.

In that one sentence, his entire understanding of the school changed.
