Chapter 5 - 5 - it still continues

They store their weapons in a kind of other dimension, like a rift that can open anywhere: on the ground, on the wall, or even in the middle of nowhere.

"Seal Break!"

Nobaru spoke, and a gigantic battle axe emerged from the dimensional rift, materializing in her hand.

She planted her foot on the ground, tearing the earth, gained momentum, and cut the dragon from bottom to top. The monster collapsed, dead before it hit the ground.

"Wow, what a weak little dragon. I thought you would entertain me a little more. I see you can barely channel your energy, much like your father,"

Nobaru provoked, putting her axe away.

The mention of his father was the fuse.

"SHUT YOUR MOUTH!"

Yoshi's voice ripped through the air, choked and full of humiliation. His fists trembled uncontrollably.

"Everyone keeps comparing me to him! Nobody chooses who they're born to! I'm not guilty of my father's crimes, but you... YOU BLAME ME AS IF I HAD COMMITTED THEM!"

The accumulated frustration, rage, and pain exploded. Everything around them trembled, and the light drastically diminished, swallowed by a dense darkness.

"Wow, what darkness!" exclaimed Fukuoka.

Nobaru, however, smiled, the wildest smile Yoshi had ever seen.

"Heh heh heh. Show your power, you depressed piece of trash!"

Nobaru burst into maniacal laughter that grated on the ears.

Suddenly, the dark mist intensified. Yoshi moved with a speed she hadn't expected.

Nobaru felt the cold shock of metal: a black Katana emerged from the darkness and pierced her abdomen. The metal tore through vital organs. Blood gushed from her mouth, but instead of pain, her eyes widened in maniacal delight.

"HA HA HA HA!"

She spat blood with the laughter, her body staggering in a dance of death and ecstasy.

"Show who you really are!"

Yoshi used the black mist to teleport and attack. The mist, besides covering his movements, was a form of venom that burned the skin. He would vanish and reappear.

Nobaru ended up with several deep holes and cuts, bleeding heavily, but she laughed wildly, her eyes fixed on the combat.

"Great! Keep going! Show who you are, you depressed trash!"

she screamed, her voice choked with blood and pleasure.

"What?" Zaren asked, terrified.

"She healed!" Fukuoka pointed, incredulous.

Nobaru's wounds were closing in real time. She looked down, sensing the vibrations.

"No... no... no... I found you!" she said, and the fight resumed, weapons clashing in a shower of sparks.

"Did you really think you were going to kill me?" Nobaru asked, forcing her axe against Yoshi's katana.

"Are you insane?" Yoshi questioned, panting.

Nobaru tilted her head, her eyes fixed on his, with a perverse sweetness.

"What an ugly question to ask a lady."

She laughed, the madness returning to sparkle.

"Some women feel pleasure in love, in touch. Me? I feel pleasure when Death dances by my side, trying to take me. Your blood is my most expensive wine. Every drop I see gush out is a rush of adrenaline that lasts an eternity!"

"You scare me more than my father does," Yoshi whispered.

"Enough of this game," she said, and her tone turned cold.

She delivered a kick of overwhelming energy. He fell to the ground, his body lacerated and bleeding, while she was perfectly healed.

Nobaru approached, looking down at him.

"Our fight was interesting, and I admit: you have a future."

Yoshi's body stopped moving.

Fukuoka ran toward them, his face wet with tears and terror.

"Sensei, you killed him! No, this isn't right... We haven't even been friends for a full day!"

Nobaru stared at him coldly, the madness replaced by a chilling seriousness.

"Silence. I will teach you a valuable lesson today, Fukuoka."

She paused dramatically, forcing the boy to look at her.

"Learn this: Nobody truly dies. The body is just a shell for your soul. His body may not be moving, but he is not dead. This spell I'm about to use, you might even learn it, but it will take decades to master."

"Seal Break," Nobaru spoke. Her old wounds and the holes in her clothes began to heal and disappear in a golden glow.

"Wake up, Yoshi," Nobaru said, hitting him lightly on the face.

"Wow, Sensei Nobaru, you are God!" Fukuoka exclaimed, stunned and relieved.

Nobaru punched Fukuoka on the head

"Shut up, I'm not God!" Nobaru said.

"His soul is still here, you just have to help it return to the body. Your soul... is in who you are."
