Chapter 151 - Ch: 98-106

Chapter 98: Karl Appears! Fiery Lord Voldemort!

Harry watched helplessly as the emerald green beam of light shot towards him, unable to dodge.

The series of events and intense emotional changes he had experienced earlier had left him physically and mentally exhausted, his legs heavy as if filled with lead.

Am I going to die?

In Harry's desperate gaze, a black figure appeared in a wolf-like posture.

This is not!

Snape used his last ounce of strength to rush forward and shield Harry.

He calmly watched the beam of the Killing Curse, suddenly feeling a long-lost peace in his heart.

Let it be.

Perhaps I can go see Lily now.

Although I'm sorry I couldn't protect your child, I did my best; at least I didn't let him die before me.

You... won't blame me, will you?

"Yi ya!"

Just as the situation hung by a thread, a plump, orange-yellow figure suddenly appeared and collided with Avada Kedavra.

Snape's eyes widened abruptly. Fire Treasure?

"Bang!"

Fire Treasure's tiny body disintegrated into a ball of flame, but it quickly reassembled, returning to its original form.

"Chirp~"

After quickly patting its entire body and finding nothing wrong, Fire Treasure finally wiped away non-existent cold sweat with relief.

As long as Karl's heart flame doesn't extinguish, this little guy is immortal.

However, everything comes at a cost; if Fire Treasure is disintegrated too many times, its heart flame will also weaken.

"What is this thing?"

Lord Voldemort was stunned; there was actually a magical creature like a Phoenix that wasn't afraid of the Killing Curse.

Before he could react, the entire room was suddenly engulfed in a sea of fire.

Black Fiendfyre and white Gubraithian Fire formed a massive Tai Chi symbol, with the yin and yang fish connecting head to tail, constantly rotating, and countless flame-shaped Dragons and Phoenixes soaring and dancing in the sea of fire.

At the same time, a light, pleasant, yet incredibly oppressive whistling sound came from the sea of fire.

Karl walked with elegant, unhurried steps, twirling his wand, and stopped between Lord Voldemort, Snape, and Harry, then gave Lord Voldemort a smug look.

Hey, hey, hey! I'm here!

Experts always make their entrance at the critical moment!

Dumbledore in the shadows: (*_*)

Wait! This walking posture combined with this expression, why does it look so familiar?

When you were learning spells from Gellert, why did you learn this too?

Karl, currently showing off: (^_−)☆

Don't worry about what I learned, just tell me if I learned it well? Shouldn't that old man Grindelwald be slapping his thigh and exclaiming 'expert'?

It's still the same old saying: strength is temporary, but coolness is forever.

From today on, please call me Great Grindelwald; that old man will be Little Karl from now on.

Don't you dare say it's an inversion of the natural order!

"Hello~ Senior Tom! Long time no see, I've missed you dearly!"

"At Albus's invitation, I also added two layers of protection to the Philosopher's Stone. Now, please begin your challenge."

Hearing Karl's address, Lord Voldemort's expression immediately turned ugly.

Compared to the early fragmented souls in the ravenclaw diadem and Slytherin locket, Lord Voldemort's main soul had become twisted and fanatical to the point of near madness.

The higher he climbed, the more he felt shame and hatred for that name originating from his Muggle father.

"Karl Olonlin—I know you. I originally thought it was just exaggerated rumors from those foolish students, but now it seems your talent and strength are indeed extraordinary."

"Tom Riddle, I also know you. I originally thought it was just exaggerated rumors from those timid Wizards, but now it seems your talent and strength are almost catching up to mine."

As Karl finished speaking, the atmosphere in the room suddenly fell silent.

Harry, Hermione, and Ron looked at Karl with immense reverence. Is Senior so brave? To dare mock Lord Voldemort like that.

Snape's mouth twitched as he tightened his grip on his wand. He vaguely sensed that something was wrong; tonight seemed to be a trap.

And Dumbledore smiled helplessly; he knew this kid's words could infuriate people to death.

Although it was Lord Voldemort, and it felt very satisfying to hear, couldn't he stop imitating Gellert? His mind was already picturing two generations of Dark Lords exchanging verbal jabs.

In Karl's words, it was truly outrageous—his mom opened the door for outrageous—outrageous to the extreme.

"Hmph! An ignorant brat! You've made me angry, and that's not good news for you."

Lord Voldemort eyed Karl with a fierce gaze, already concocting countless methods of torture. He would make this brat wish for death but be unable to find it!

"Wrong, this is good news, because when you're unhappy, I'm very happy."

Karl's expression was smug, and he even flashed a wide, white-toothed smile to confirm his words.

"Humph! You seem to know me?"

Lord Voldemort wanted to understand what Karl meant by "long time no see" and didn't attack immediately.

In the unseen, a fatal sense of crisis made him feel uneasy.

"Of course I know you! Your two Horcruxes and I are good buddies! We have a great relationship!"

Lord Voldemort's face instantly froze, red light flickered in his eyes, and he raised his hand, casting Avada Kedavra.

Anyone who knew his Horcrux secret had to die! What's more, this kid had already found two!

Karl moved calmly, sidestepping the emerald green beam. Although he appeared casual, he was actually on high alert inside.

"Boom!"

Amidst a dull explosion, the struck wall shattered and collapsed, raising a cloud of dust.

"See, you're too impatient!"

Karl strolled leisurely through the sea of fire, elegantly waving his wand as if conducting a grand concert.

While constantly transfiguring stone bricks into armor to shield himself, the Tai Chi yin and yang fish rotated rapidly, Fiendfyre and Gubraithian Fire flowing ceaselessly.

Countless Fire Dragons and Fire Phoenixes roared as they lunged at Lord Voldemort.

"Damn it!"

Lord Voldemort couldn't help but curse angrily, feeling as if he was trapped in a fiery furnace, utterly unable to escape.

He used various spells to contend with the raging Fiendfyre and the eternally burning Gubraithian Fire, his methods truly spectacular.

Blocking, dispersing, isolating—even seizing flames for his own use.

However, the young man opposite him played dirty, with no skillful maneuvers, only knowing how to constantly unleash fire.

The endless flames gradually wore Lord Voldemort down, making him too exhausted to even attack Karl.

This wasn't due to Lord Voldemort's lack of strength, but because, "Master! I can't take it anymore! I'm about to collapse!"

"Useless!"

Hearing Quirrell's painful wail, Lord Voldemort was both enraged and filled with extreme hatred.

If he were not merely a soul, if he had a body, if Quirrell weren't so useless, how could he be reduced to being humiliated by a mere little Wizard?

"Oh, oh, oh~ Senior Tom, is that all you've got? Where's your arrogant demeanor from earlier?"

Compared to Lord Voldemort's frustration, Karl was absolutely delighted.

One could only say that the feeling of kicking someone when they're down was truly wonderful! No wonder villains loved to take advantage of others!

The ancestors did not deceive me; one must pick the rotten persimmons, it takes no effort at all.

If Lord Voldemort in his strongest form was a fully geared, full health, full mana top laner, then he was now a support with gold-generating items, low health, and no mana.

What a coincidence! I'm a support slayer!

"Karl Olonlin! I remember you! You will pay the price for everything you've done today! I will—"

"Ah!"

Just as Lord Voldemort roared, Quirrell, who was possessed by him, suddenly let out a piercing scream.

His body seemed to be cleaved open by an invisible blade, and blood continuously gushed from the tearing wounds.

"Severus—"

Lord Voldemort's chilling gaze fell on Snape in the distance; there was no fear on the latter's pale face, only an emotion he couldn't comprehend and deep-seated hatred.

"You will regret this!"

With a forceful flick of his wand, a howling gale immediately erupted around Lord Voldemort.

As the raging flames were momentarily blocked, he leaped forward, charging towards the Mirror of Erised.

As he watched his hand about to touch the Mirror, hope surged in Lord Voldemort's heart.

I can still turn this around!

Chapter 99: Arresting Lord Voldemort, Harry: Will my eyes make you disgusted?

Under everyone's gaze, Quirrell's palm pressed against the surface of the Mirror of Erised.

However, before Lord Voldemort could make his next move, his pupils suddenly contracted.

Because in the Mirror, a noble and extraordinary Ice Crystal Divine Bird appeared, flying towards him with cold wind and frost.

"Whoosh!"

A terrifying surge of frost power instantly erupted, and a bone-chilling cold swept over him like a tangible entity.

Quirrell's body suddenly stiffened, and delicate frost patterns appeared on the surface of his robe.

The ice crystals spread rapidly at a visible speed, covering him from his arm to his entire body within a few breaths, freezing him completely within the crystal-clear ice.

And Lord Voldemort's terrifying face was filled with disbelief and despair, and after being frozen, it glowed with an eerie light under the flames.

"You have to walk one step at a time, and eat one bite at a time. I already said there were two layers of defense for you to break through one by one. How could you skip a level, Tom?"

Karl Olonlin twirled his wand and approached the Mirror of Erised, kicking the frozen Quirrell sculpture to the ground.

"Stop playing dead. Come out and talk."

A faint black mist rose from the ice, condensing into Lord Voldemort's soul. He stared fixedly at Karl Olonlin with a pair of blood-red eyes.

"Don't get too smug! Karl Olonlin! I am immortal!"

"You think stopping me from getting the Philosopher's Stone! You think destroying a few Horcruxes! Do you think these can kill me? Impossible!"

Lord Voldemort's face was twisted almost to the point of cracking with rage, and his eyes burned with a violent fire of hatred, enough to make anyone who looked directly at him tremble with fear.

"Wait for my return! You Mudbloods and traitors! I will cut off your heads and hang them on the spires of Hogwarts! I will torment your souls until they are annihilated!"

"Wait! The Dark Lord's shadow will engulf the entire world! You cannot escape! Dumbledore cannot save you either!"

Facing Lord Voldemort's impotent rage and roaring shouts, Karl Olonlin shrugged indifferently.

Then, with a brilliant smile, he elegantly bowed to conclude this perfect performance, mimicking the style of Jhin, the Virtuoso.

"You spoke too soon, Tom. Since you're here, why don't you stay?"

A raging sea of fire surged again, and violent flames gathered and rose, with more than a dozen small fire Dragons encircling Karl Olonlin and Lord Voldemort.

A brilliant golden light began to shine, like a shield completely isolating everything.

"This is…"

Lord Voldemort's expression suddenly changed, sensing a terrible danger.

His soul transformed into a wisp of black smoke, attempting to escape, but was bounced back after colliding with the golden light.

"No! This is impossible!"

Amidst Lord Voldemort's desperate cries of alarm, a silver-white stream of water tightly coiled around his soul.

"Master Ball! Go!"

Karl Olonlin pulled out a reddish-purple, white, and three-colored Poké Ball marked with the letter M from his wristband, and threw it with the coolest posture.

Upon impact, Lord Voldemort's soul mummy was sucked into the Master Ball, and a small, ethereal Stonehenge flashed by.

Karl Olonlin summoned it into his hand with Accio, and with a thought, dispelled all the flames.

Then, once again, he walked with Grindelwald's gait to Dumbledore, who had already appeared, and held up the Master Ball in his hand to show him.

"Albus, Lord Voldemort successfully captured."

Dumbledore said nothing, but simply laughed heartily.

Hermione and Ron, standing beside him, shrieked with surprise, chattering away, making more noise than a flock of sparrows.

"Karl Olonlin! You defeated You-Know-Who! No! You defeated Lord Voldemort!"

Ron's face was flushed with excitement; that was the Dark Lord everyone feared.

"Oh my goodness! This is incredible! I'll remember this day forever. It was really too dangerous just now, Harry and Professor Snape almost... Thankfully, it's all over!"

Hermione wiped her eyes, a little embarrassed, then pulled Ron and ran towards Harry. The three hugged tightly, jumping and cheering with joy.

Dumbledore winked at Karl Olonlin, and both looked towards Snape.

After finding an opportunity to hit Lord Voldemort with Sectumsempra, Snape had fallen to the ground.

At this moment, he struggled to stand up, but due to the severe injuries inflicted by Lord Voldemort, he was clearly out of strength.

Harry, who was celebrating his narrow escape with Ron and Hermione, saw this scene. After a brief hesitation, he bravely walked to Snape's side, wanting to help him up.

"Thank you—thank you, Professor Snape, you saved me many times."

Snape's body stiffened for a moment, but he did not refuse Harry's help. However, after getting up, he immediately forcefully shook him off.

"I don't need your thanks. I was merely following Dumbledore's orders."

"No! That's not true! I heard Lord Voldemort just say—"

"Shut up!" Snape looked at Harry expressionlessly, but his tone was not calm.

"Mr. Potter, if you wish to thank me, then please do not let me see your face. You are as mediocre and arrogant as your father, fond of showing off, and presumptuous! All of it disgusts me!"

Harry's chest heaved violently, but as soon as he thought of Snape standing in front of him, his anger instantly vanished.

His feelings were complex, but no matter what, he couldn't be angry with his savior.

After all, in Harry's short life, there were too few people who were good to him, let alone those willing to risk their lives to protect him.

My father is not like what you said!

After refuting in his heart, Harry suddenly remembered what Snape had said, and then, as if possessed, he asked, "Then what if—is it my eyes? Will they also make you feel disgusted?"

"You!"

Snape's expression turned fierce. He glared angrily at Harry, then turned and walked out of the room.

However, as he stepped out the door, he turned back to Dumbledore with a cold face.

"I believe I need an explanation."

Dumbledore's expression was very innocent, "It just happened to be an opportunity, so I prepared a trap for Lord Voldemort."

"Is that all? Do you think I'll believe that? I'm not a fool!"

Emotions surged in Snape's eyes, "But whatever, now that Lord Voldemort has been dealt with, our agreement can end." "Perhaps not yet, Severus, your mind is already in turmoil, and you need to calm down now."

Dumbledore shook his head, "Come to my office and learn about what a Horcrux is."

"We haven't completely eliminated Lord Voldemort, so that agreement still needs to continue."

Snape stared fixedly at Dumbledore, then lowered his gaze, "I understand."

After he left, Karl Olonlin looked at Dumbledore in confusion, "You said redemption? Where is it? Why don't I see it? Will it really work?"

"Of course, just don't be too impatient."

Dumbledore smiled and stroked his long white beard, "They need a little time."

"Alright, I believe you."

Karl Olonlin handed over the Master Ball in his hand, "Your Lord Voldemort."

However, Dumbledore refused, "No, he's your Tom."

"Huh? You don't want him?"

"Perhaps it's more suitable for you to hold onto him."

Through the previous two Horcruxes, and what just happened, Dumbledore believed that Lord Voldemort could be safely entrusted to Karl Olonlin to handle.

He did better than himself, and seemed to naturally counter Lord Voldemort.

Perhaps it wouldn't be long before this child would bring him an even greater surprise.

"Hehehe! Then I won't be polite!"

Karl Olonlin happily stuffed the Master Ball into his wristband. One should know that this was a high-level alchemical item Dumbledore had asked Nicolas Flamel to create, something money couldn't buy anywhere.

"You probably still have something to say to Harry and them, I'll be leaving first."

"Won't you come to my place for a sit?"

Dumbledore was worried that this unlucky child would show up in the middle of the night and disturb his sleep.

"No time! I haven't finished my homework yet! If I don't get it done before Minerva comes back tomorrow, then I'm done for!"

Karl Olonlin walked out, sighing, still muttering to himself.

"She assigned homework even after the exams were over. Minerva is clearly making things difficult for me—"

Dumbledore couldn't help but laugh heartily. The Karl Olonlin now was completely different from earlier.

Who would have thought that the young Wizard who defeated Lord Voldemort was still troubled by homework assigned by parents?

The Sorting Hat had asked him more than once why he wasn't worried about Karl Olonlin becoming another Lord Voldemort. They were both orphans, both exceptionally talented, and both possessed strong charisma.

Actually, the answer to this question was very simple.

Because Karl Olonlin was completely different from Lord Voldemort.

He understood how to truly love others while being loved.

Chapter 100: I'm Going to Lay Out the Stakes for Dumbledore!

"Hmm, Albus? Is something wrong?"

Karl, who was sleeping, was woken by the sound of the door opening. He groggily looked up and saw Dumbledore walking in.

Because he had stayed up late catching up on homework, Karl had simply slept in the Gryffindor Dean Office.

Anyway, Professor McGonagall's territory was his territory, and it wasn't the first time.

"It's me."

The familiar voice instantly sobered Karl. He looked up again and Dumbledore had already turned into Professor McGonagall.

"Oh? Minerva! You're back!"

Karl happily scrambled up. As soon as he got out of bed, Professor McGonagall, who had rushed over, grabbed him and began to examine him carefully.

"Are you hurt?"

"Of course not!"

Seeing that her kitten was indeed unharmed, the somewhat nervous Professor McGonagall finally relaxed.

"Minerva, why are your dark circles so heavy? Did you stay up late?"

"Hmm, it's nothing, just tired from a meeting."

Professor McGonagall was too embarrassed to say that she hadn't slept well all night because she was worried her kitten might be in danger.

"That tired? Then let's not go anymore. Let Albus handle all the meetings; he's over a hundred years old, it's the age for him to be out exploring."

Hearing Karl's rather uncharitable words, Professor McGonagall couldn't help but feel a bit speechless.

But since her kitten wasn't hurt, she could ask about other things.

"Where's Lord Voldemort? Did Albus catch him? He didn't let him get away, did he?"

Although he really wanted to show off in front of Professor McGonagall, Karl didn't dare say that he was the one who captured Tom, considering the potentially serious consequences.

"He was caught! Albus is still strong! He went straight in with a set of senior fitness exercises, directly punching and kicking Lord Voldemort down. I was just on the side cheering him on!"

"Good, good!"

Although the scene described by her kitten was a bit too bizarre to think about in detail.

But since Lord Voldemort was successfully caught, that was a good thing worth celebrating.

Professor McGonagall breathed a sigh of relief, a happy smile appearing on her face. "You little rascal, why are you still sleeping in? It's already noon and you're not even up!"

"Ah?"

Karl pulled open the curtains remotely and realized the sun was already high outside. No wonder his stomach was a bit hungry.

"It's all Lord Voldemort's fault! He just had to make his move so late! We waited for so long!"

Sorry, Tom. Anyway, plenty of people are scolding you, so you probably don't mind taking the blame.

Professor McGonagall pinched Karl's cheek and turned to walk out the door.

"Hurry and change into new clothes. The people from 'Transfiguration Today' and the Ministry of Magic have arrived and are waiting in the Headmaster's Office."

"Oh, oh! Awards and registration, right! Wait a moment, I'll be ready right away!"

When they arrived at the Headmaster's Office, Karl put on an honest and simple expression, following Professor McGonagall's instructions throughout.

Dumbledore, observing from the side, kept chuckling, as such a well-behaved Karl was rare.

Several people from the academic journal 'Transfiguration Today' praised Karl profusely, giving him the Most Promising Newcomer Award like they were handing out flyers, then took a few photos and left.

That's right, they just left like that.

Pfft! They didn't even give me one hundred Galleons!

Finally, it was time to register as an Animagus. The Ministry of Magic officials had Karl transform a few times and he passed.

One of the leading older women then pulled Professor McGonagall and Karl aside to talk.

"It truly makes me incredibly happy to see such an excellent Wizard. From Dumbledore back then to you, and now you've cultivated Karl Olonlin. Perhaps this is the legacy of Hogwarts."

"Thank you for your praise, Madam Marchbanks."

Professor McGonagall proudly rubbed Karl's head. "But this isn't my credit. Karl has excellent talent, a serious attitude, and studies diligently, which is why he can achieve such results."

Karl: (O_⊙)

Huh? Me? Really? Is that true?

You don't usually talk about me like that!

But this old lady is amazing! Dumbledore is even a junior in front of her!

Seeing Professor McGonagall's undisguised affection and her close interaction with Karl, Madam Marchbanks understood something after a moment, and the smile on her face became even more benevolent.

"He truly is an excellent child. Congratulations, Minerva."

Lonely Professor McGonagall finally has someone to care for again. It truly makes an old person feel relieved.

As soon as the awards and registration were over, Professor McGonagall took Karl and left the Headmaster's Office.

The kitten hadn't eaten yet, so how could he have time to chat with a group from the Ministry of Magic?

And... she herself was hungry too.

She hadn't slept well, so naturally, she didn't have much appetite for food.

So, upon arriving at the Great Hall, the two of them immediately began to eat as if seeking revenge.

"Minerva, why do you (chew chew chew) eat like me?"

"Shut your mouth. Don't talk (chew chew chew) while eating."

Karl: (⊙.⊙)

Huh? How can I eat with my mouth shut?

And you're talking too!

Just then, a flurry of flapping sounds began, and several owl postmen appeared.

"Hoo hoo~"

One of them, after dropping off its package, didn't leave immediately. Instead, it landed on Karl's shoulder and affectionately rubbed its head against him.

"It's you, Mitchell~"

Karl held it in his arms and scratched it. "You worked hard! I'll treat you all to meat later! As much as you want!"

"Hoo hoo~"

After some interaction, Mitchell spread its wings and flew out of the Great Hall, presumably returning to the owlery to share the good news with its companions.

Meanwhile, Karl focused his attention on the delivered package. "Minerva, what did you buy?"

"Your textbooks and school supplies for next semester. I bought them on my way to the Ministry of Magic."

"That's not right, is it? Why are there so many?"

Karl scratched his head in confusion. During the Easter course selection, he had only filled out Care of Magical Creatures and Ancient Runes.

But looking at the number of textbooks, it seemed as if he had selected all of them.

Professor McGonagall gave him a sidelong glance. "So you know you didn't choose many courses!"

"Well, there's a reason for all of it. Alchemy can only be registered for in sixth or seventh year, and for Muggle Studies Class, I could go and be a Professor myself. As for Divination and Arithmancy, what decent person goes to those—except Nina."

Nina had chosen one more course than Karl, Divination, as it was professionally relevant for her as a Druid.

"Alright, I suppose you have a point."

Professor McGonagall's lips curved into a smile; after all, she didn't like Divination either. Her kitten truly took after her.

Karl opened the package and rummaged through it, then was surprised to find that besides the normal textbooks, there were also many strange books.

For example, 'Break with a Banshee,' 'Voyages with Vampires,' they were all Gilderoy Lockhart's books.

Was this guy here to teach students, or to promote and sell his books?

It truly makes one envious and jealous... Bah! It truly makes one despise and disdain him!

But why did Dumbledore still bring this guy in to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts Class Professor next year?

Lord Voldemort has already been caught, so do they still need to worry about the curse? It would be much better to just let that old man Grindelwald take over!

Seeing Karl's speechless expression, Professor McGonagall was a little curious. "What's wrong? You don't seem to like Lockhart."

Had Lockhart's absurd behavior from back then already reached the young Wizards?

"There's a bit of that. This guy is actually bringing in his own stuff, using the opportunity of being a Professor to boost sales for his books."

Karl slammed his hand on the table, his voice agitated. "No! How can Hogwarts be run well with a worm like this around?"

"I'm going to lay out the stakes for Dumbledore!"

Chapter 101: A Military Order to Cat Mom and a Promise with Nina

Karl got angry in a fit of rage, slammed the table, then quickly sat down to eat.

After all, no matter how many mistakes, eating is never wrong.

Cat Mom's expression was a little too kind, making his eyes instantly clear.

Oh my goodness! I actually slammed the table while Minerva was eating! It's all Lockhart's fault!

Professor McGonagall, almost choked, patted her chest, then gently flicked Karl's forehead.

"Little rascal, can't you be more steady? Although Lockhart's behavior is a bit inappropriate, he is still a Professor of the school. You can't say bad things about him like that in the future."

Karl nodded understandingly, "Don't worry, I'll only curse him behind his back."

Professor McGonagall: (._.)

Ah? Is that what I meant? What on earth are you thinking in that little head of yours?

"Not even behind his back!"

"Oh~ Alright then~"

Looking at Karl, who seemed unconvinced, Professor McGonagall could only comfortingly stroke his Cat Mom.

Although Lockhart was a peculiar person, when he graduated, he even made all the Professors and students breathe a sigh of relief.

But from the legendary deeds and autobiographical books published later, Lockhart had become a powerful and brave Wizard,

at least when it came to dealing with various Dark Arts creatures.

Hogwarts' Defense Against the Dark Arts Class Professor was already difficult to recruit, and two consecutive Professors had died unnatural deaths.

Lockhart's willingness to come and teach also showed his confidence in his own strength.

Professor McGonagall suddenly froze as she thought of this, because she discovered a problem.

Whether it was Elvis Heller or Quirinus Quirrell, their incidents seemed to be related to her own cat cub.

The next Lockhart won't also be affected by Karl...

Bah, bah, bah! Definitely not possible!

Professor McGonagall shook her head vigorously, shaking the jumbled thoughts out of her mind.

Karl curiously leaned over, "Minerva, what are you doing? Are you sleepy?"

He felt that if Cat Mom didn't get some good rest, she'd turn from a tabby into a panda.

"Nothing, I just thought that Gryffindor might have another student getting twelve O.W.L. certificates this year."

"Percy Weasley?"

"Exactly. You happen to know Charlie, George, and Fred, and the last person to get twelve certificates was their older brother, Bill Weasley."

Seeing Cat Mom's proud look, Karl immediately took the opportunity to flatter her, "Two such excellent talents both came from Gryffindor!

This is enough to show the Dean's excellence!"

Professor McGonagall laughed, this had little to do with her; it was mainly because the Weasley family's children were indeed very talented.

"So, my dear Karl, can you tell me how many certificates you will get in the future? Because compared to Percy and Bill, your grades seem more convincing."

Karl: Oh no! She's coming for me!

"I only have eight classes in total!"

"Very good, then seven certificates it is. After all, your Potion Class—is still a bit difficult."

Karl: ()

What kind of talk is this? Is this a provocation? I actually fall for this!

As the saying goes, it's not about making steamed buns, but about fighting for a breath. I definitely can't disappoint Cat Mom.

"Minerva, just you watch! I will definitely let you know what 'Eight Gates Fully Open' means!"

A Night Guy kicks open the Gate of Death!

"Putting everything else aside, I am absolutely confident I can get a high score in this year's Potion Class!"

Karl was very confident about this; he had saved Snape's life last night.

Marrying him off was impossible, but not to mention being a beast of burden, at least he should give a good grade, right?

Professor Snape! Don't disappoint me!

After lunch, Karl supervised Cat Mom back to her office to rest.

Then he strolled to the lawn outside the Castle, where Nina was already waiting.

The elegant and beautiful girl sat quietly reading under the shade of a tree, her long hair gently stirred by the breeze.

Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, casting fragmented shadows, making the scene as beautiful as a painting.

Karl smiled and admired her for a while, then walked over and sat beside Nina.

In her watery eyes, he could clearly see his own reflection, and it felt really good.

"What are you reading?"

"How to Tame a Dragon."

Nina closed the book and showed him the cover, "There are many descriptions of Dragon behavior in here. Through these, one can roughly guess a Dragon's thoughts."

"Huh? Do you still need to guess like this? Can't you communicate with animals?

1

Facing Karl's question, Nina was also helpless. After all, Norbert was too young now, its intelligence couldn't control its instincts, and it was unwilling to cooperate, not listening at all.

"Recently, Norbert has been noticeably irritable, not very friendly towards Evele, and unwilling to respond to me."

"Oh? The little thing has quite a temper. How about I go teach it a lesson and let it know who the real boss is?"

Nina nodded in agreement, suspecting that the reason Norbert was acting abnormally was because the leader it had submitted to, the little Dragon, hadn't appeared for too long.

"It's very necessary, because Norbert has been beaten several times by Milo and Lucy recently."

"Huh? And it still dares to throw a tantrum?"

"Hmm—it's a bit stubborn, it doesn't give up even after being beaten," Nina said, and then suddenly remembered something, "Oh, right, we might have to change Norbert's name, because it's a female Norwegian Ridgeback Dragon."

Karl knew this, he was just waiting for Nina to discover it herself, "Then change it, just pick one."

"No, no, no, you're the Dragon Rider, so of course you should name it."

"Didn't someone else also want to be a Dragon Rider? Let's share the Norwegian Ridgeback Dragon."

Nina smiled without speaking, because what she wanted to ride was the cute and handsome little Dragon.

Karl: (_-)

I see mischief in your smile!

"Oh, by the way, are you still going to prepare for the Ilvermorny entrance exam this summer?"

Hearing this, Nina leaned closer and stared into Karl's eyes, "What? Do you hope so?"

"Of course I don't hope so!"

"Why?"

"Because—" Karl's expression was unusually serious, as if he was reciting an admissions brochure, "Because Hogwarts has the great Dumbledore, as well as top Transfiguration Masters, Potion Masters, Charm Masters, and Herbology Masters."

"Of course! And the most amazing student!"

Watching Karl puff out his chest, Nina couldn't help but poke his cheek with her finger.

"Alright, although I didn't understand the last part, what you said earlier makes a lot of sense. I'll just obediently stay at Hogwarts."

Karl: ()

You didn't understand the most important part, did you?

But it's okay, I'm a generous person, so I won't fuss over such a small matter.

Just as someone was about to lose control of his smile, Nina delivered another piece of good news.

"I'm going to Dorset this summer, because Grandma Queenie is coming to visit Grandma Tina."

Karl's heart stirred, "That's great! Can I come visit you?"

Old Senior Newt! Your fan is here!

We're finally going to meet!

That old man Grindelwald even gave me a wristband, you can't lose to him!

Nina smiled faintly, her eyes gentle, "Of course, I'll wait for you."

After accompanying Nina to read for an afternoon, Karl went straight to the Headmaster's Office after dinner.

Besides explaining the stakes, he also asked what gift he should prepare for Newt.

As soon as he entered, he saw Dumbledore having tea with Grindelwald.

Karl: (A)

"Um—did I come at the wrong time?"

Grindelwald looked speechless, while Dumbledore smiled slightly.

"No, you've come at just the right time."

Chapter 102: Summer Vacation Battle Plan and a Weary Dumbledore

After inviting Karl to sit down, Dumbledore began to discuss serious matters with him.

"Gellert and I plan to head to Tara Hill in Ireland after Hogwarts lets out, hoping to find something there."

"Huh? Are you finally making a move?"

Karl looked at Dumbledore with eager eyes. "Take me with you, Albus! It'll be boring with just the two of you! I can liven things up!"

"Heh!"

Grindelwald chuckled, glancing at him sideways: This little brat is just bored! Are you going to set fires to liven things up? With me here, do we even need you?

Karl: (—_—)

What do you mean, old man? I'm protecting my Principal, what does that have to do with you? An outsider acting all high and mighty!

Dumbledore waved his hand with a smile. "While I'd like to take you, Minerva probably wouldn't agree. But if you can convince her, then there's no problem."

"Listen… that's a bit difficult!"

"Let me think about how to spin a lie. As long as I can deceive Minerva first, getting beaten up can be dealt with later!"

As the saying goes, trust your future self's wisdom—it has nothing to do with your present self anyway.

Grindelwald rolled his eyes. "Do you even need to make something up, you little brat? Shouldn't lies just roll off your tongue?"

Karl glared at the old man. "Albus! He's slandering me! Ruining my reputation!"

Don't you know what an honest and reliable young man is? Spreading rumors is shameful!

Dumbledore quickly lowered his head and drank his tea, pretending to be deaf and blind.

Although he wanted to support Karl, Gellert was, unfortunately, not wrong.

"Albus, say something!"

"Ah? Oh! I think you can take your time thinking. No need to rush, because there's plenty of time."

Dumbledore decisively changed the subject. "I still have to deal with matters between the school and the Ministry of Magic. I probably won't arrive at Tara Hill until early August. We can meet there."

This way, Karl could leave on his own, and he could also avoid Minerva.

Phew! A perfect decision! This is the wisdom that comes from life experience!

"What kind of matters take over a month to handle? Is the Ministry of Magic that inefficient?"

"Hmm…" Dumbledore spread his hands. "Although Wizarding society and Muggle society are separate, in some ways, they are exactly alike."

Having watched the show "Yes, Minister," Karl immediately understood. If that was the case, then everything made sense.

"The Ministry of Magic is a bunch of worms! How can they secure a better future for the Wizarding community when they're with these guys?"

Karl slammed his hand on the table, then turned to look at Grindelwald.

"Old man, why don't we fight the Ministry of Magic? We'll storm into Cornelius Fudge's office and seize his position!"

"Then Albus can be the Minister, you can be the Deputy Minister, and I'll be the hype man waving the flag from behind. We'll eat big steaks and drink big bowls of red wine. Wouldn't that be wonderful?"

Grindelwald slapped his thigh upon hearing this. "Though you often talk nonsense, this idea of yours is quite good!"

"Of course! Who doesn't have their moments of being a human? Just like you occasionally speak like one!"

"The feeling's mutual!"

"Hehehe!" × 2

Dumbledore: (—_—")

Looking at the animated Karl and the gleeful Gellert, he suddenly felt so weary. He hoped he wouldn't wake up one day to find himself clad in black robes, did he?

Although he knew they were joking, the problem was—these two could actually do it!

"Cough! Stop it!"

Dumbledore tapped the table with his finger. "Karl, did you come here for something?"

Karl then remembered his purpose, so he, having just sat down, slammed his hand on the table again.

"Albus! I need to impress upon you the gravity of this situation!"

"Ah?"

Dumbledore began to reflect on when he had provoked the mischievous child.

"Lockhart, of all people, is teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts Class. Can he teach it? No, he can't! He doesn't have the ability, you know?"

"And this guy is even taking the opportunity to sell books! He really has no shame!"

"A whole seven or eight books! This is putting a burden on the students! Hogwarts is my territory—ah, no! It's my home, so I absolutely cannot tolerate such things happening!"

Dumbledore, Grindelwald: ·—·

Did you just blurt out what you were really thinking, young man? We're not so old that we can't hear!

"Don't worry, Karl. I extorted—cough!—requested a sum of money from the Ministry of Magic and the school board as a subsidy for the students' book purchases, so it won't burden them. The matter I mentioned earlier that needed to be dealt with was precisely this."

"As for Lockhart—he does have some issues. I think it's a good opportunity to teach all young Wizards a lesson."

"And Gellert is here too, so it won't affect everyone's Defense Against the Dark Arts Class progress."

After Dumbledore finished explaining, he noticed Karl was still a bit indignant, so he decisively added another sentence.

"I'm also preparing to add a batch of extracurricular books to the school library, including your works."

Karl: (—_—)

"Hehe! Then it's fine! I actually don't care about the books or anything. My main concern was our Defense Against the Dark Arts Class, but since the old man is stepping in, I can rest assured!"

Grindelwald looked at Karl with disdain. "Bah! Look at you! You're such a small-minded brat!"

Oh, really? Am I?

Karl's mouth twisted into a smirk, and he raised his voice, reciting in a theatrical tone to needle him.

"Albus, I'm going to visit Newt's home this summer, so I wanted to ask you what kind of gift I should prepare? After all, he's your most favored student!"

Grindelwald: (Stomping his foot)

This little brat really needs a good beating!

It seems I need to build a good relationship with Miss McGonagall in the future, otherwise, I really can't deal with him!

"Hmm—anything is fine, really. Newt is quite introverted, so remember to be a bit more restrained when you interact with him, as not everyone is Gellert."

Dumbledore was a little worried. Would Newt's family move out overnight after Karl's visit? He hoped Nina could keep him in check!

"When are you going?"

"What's wrong? Is there something else?"

"After the holidays, Nicolas Flamel will be moving to Hogsmeade Village, and since I'll be at the Ministry of Magic, I hope you and Minerva can welcome him for me. He's very eager to meet you."

"No problem! I'm also very curious about this legendary alchemist! But Karl looked at Grindelwald with a strange smile, "What about this old man? Will it be a bit awkward when they meet?"

"What are you laughing at, you idiot!"

Grindelwald got up and left. "Nicolas Flamel isn't coming to the school anyway! Do you think I'm as idle as you, looking for trouble?"

"Hey? Old man, don't leave! Tell me how you were caught back then?"

Watching Karl chase Grindelwald away, Dumbledore rubbed his forehead helplessly.

The mischievous child is too noisy!

That evening, Karl wrote down his battle plan for the holiday on paper.

One, welcome Nicolas Flamel and see if I can get some magic alchemy equipment.

Two, visit Newt's family and see if I can get some magic spatial equipment.

Three, explore Tara Hill in Ireland with Albus and Gellert and see if I can get some magic weapons and equipment.

Karl: (—_—)

Hmm—it seems a bit too revealing of my personality!

Burn it, burn it!

Chapter 103: Norberta, Sort of Win, First Meeting with Nicolas Flamel

While Karl was busy preparing his summer battle plans, the Hogwarts Quidditch finals arrived.

As the most anticipated event after the final exams, second only to the farewell feast, this match already had a particularly high level of attention.

After all, after studying hard for half a year, shouldn't they be able to enjoy themselves?

Coupled with the suspense of whether Hufflepuff could successfully defend their title and if Gryffindor could win the championship again after five years, the anticipation for the finals was at its peak.

Throughout Hogwarts, both the Professors and the young Wizards arrived early at the Quidditch Pitch stands to await the start of the match.

Especially a certain Professor Minerva McGonagall, who preferred to remain anonymous, woke up before dawn and then eagerly waited by the window.

When she saw people heading to the Quidditch Pitch, she immediately left with renewed vigor.

On the surface, she was calm and collected, as if everything was normal, but inside, she was already incredibly excited.

She walked with such briskness that Karl had to jog to keep up with her.

"Minerva! Eat first!"

Upon reaching the entrance hall, Karl was about to head to the Great Hall when he saw Cat Mom making a beeline for the Quidditch Pitch.

"You go eat, I'm not hungry."

Professor McGonagall yelled back without turning her head, and soon, she was out of sight.

Karl: (,one)

What's so great about that crummy Quidditch?

She had just told him to eat on time, but now she had forgotten herself, which was truly vexing.

The worried Cat Cub had no choice but to pack some food from the Great Hall and deliver it to the stands at the Quidditch Pitch.

"Eat your food quickly!"

Professor McGonagall: (_)

Noticing that the Cat Cub was a little displeased, the guilty Cat Mom quickly took the food and shoved it into her mouth.

"Hmm, how strange! Today's sandwiches and toast are especially delicious!"

"Of course, if you waited until after the match, even Hagrid's rock cakes would taste delicious."

Not that bad!

Professor McGonagall smiled sheepishly, quickly finished her meal, and then ruffled Karl's hair.

"Thanks for your concern. Do you want to watch the match together? I can explain it to you."

"I don't think so. I'm not interested in Quidditch, and I have plans with Nina."

Recalling last year's experience, Karl still couldn't help but curl his toes, feeling like he could dig out a whole Hogwarts Castle.

Now, many people mistakenly believed him to be a flying expert, especially first-year students like Hannah, who wondered why Karl hadn't joined the Quidditch team.

To this question, the "expert" Karl could only say that Hufflepuff was too strong and dominant, and to give other houses a chance, he chose to stay behind the scenes, which prevented him from being exposed.

"Alright then, I hope you two have fun."

Watching Karl's retreating figure, Professor McGonagall smiled contentedly. The Cat Cub was growing up.

Inside the Room of Requirement, within the magical suitcase, Karl and Nina arrived at the Norwegian Ridgeback's nest.

Seeing them approach from afar, the creature immediately scurried back into its cave, leaving only its backside and a long tail exposed.

"What is it doing?"

"It probably got beaten up by Milo and Lucy again, so it's unhappy."

Karl shook his head helplessly. If Hagrid knew about this, wouldn't he cry?

He immediately transformed, and the imposing yet adorable little Dragon reappeared.

Then, he skillfully dodged to the side, avoiding Nina's pounce.

Karl: (one_one)

"Oh! Let me hug you!"

Nina's eyes sparkled with tiny lights, filled with affection for the little Dragon.

There was no helping it; compared to the Dragons of the Wizarding World, Smaug's art style was indeed different.

"Stop messing around! Let's get down to business first!"

If she got to hug him, it wouldn't be just for a moment; this girl could pet him for half a day.

At this moment, the Norwegian Ridgeback, sensing the presence of the Dragon King, also crawled out and quickly ran to Karl's side, lying on the ground.

While continuously whimpering, it also pointed a claw towards the distant lake.

From its demeanor, it wasn't just complaining; it was probably cursing quite harshly.

Nina blinked, "I wrongly accused Milo and Lucy just now. It seems Seth was the one who beat it this time."

Alright, as a Dragon, to be beaten repeatedly by a Cat Leopard, a Thunderbird, and a Horned Serpent.

Isn't that embarrassing for a Dragon? How will it ever make a name for itself in the Dragon world and the world of magical creatures?

It's important to note that after reaching adulthood, while none of these creatures could truly defeat each other, Dragons still held an advantage in terms of raw power.

After all, they had thick hides and were particularly resilient.

Karl patted the little fellow's head, "Listen, I've given you a new name. From now on, you'll be called Norberta. Did you remember that?

Not Vegeta."

Norberta's clear eyes held a kind of uncorrupted foolishness that made it seem particularly similar to a husky.

Karl sighed, and had to repeat the name over and over again until it got used to it.

And to make Norberta understand its subordinate position and behave without throwing tantrums, Karl reluctantly allowed Nina to hug and pet him for a long time, which left Norberta stunned.

It proved that this method was very effective.

When Nina approached Norberta again, it immediately displayed a submissive posture.

Although its mind wasn't flexible enough, at least its instincts were normal.

"Eat well and grow up quickly, so we can fulfill our dream of becoming Dragon Riders."

Nina tugged on Karl's tail, "You don't dislike Norberta now?"

"Actually, still a little, but after getting used to it, this little guy is quite pleasing to the eye."

And even the ugliest Dragon is still a Dragon, and it's definitely cooler than riding a flying broomstick.

"Oh, by the way, Nina, there's something I want to ask you."

"Go ahead."

"What does Granny Queenie like?"

Nina's eyes curved into crescent moons, and a sly smile played on her lips, "She likes me!"

Karl: ·—

What you said is like saying something, am I supposed to give her you as a gift?

"Just kidding~ Granny Queenie likes fashion and cooking. All her clothes are self-designed and made, and she often cooks a table full of delicious food."

"I see! Then I know what gift to prepare!"

By the time Karl and Nina left the Room of Requirement, the Quidditch finals had already ended.

Hufflepuff won against Gryffindor, but Cedric lost to Harry Potter.

Since the difference in players between the two sides, apart from the Seekers, was too significant, Oliver Wood could only ask Harry to catch the Golden Snitch as early as possible to avoid a too-embarrassing score.

Anyway, they had already beaten Slytherin, so losing to the previous champions was not shameful.

Therefore, for Cedric, this match was like Lu Buwei becoming the regent – he won, but not completely.

It could only be described as a "sort of win" state.

Especially when he heard Cho praising Harry, the guy became completely depressed.

Even Hufflepuff winning the House Cup again didn't bring him back to normal.

It wasn't until the day the young Wizards left for the holidays that Cedric found Karl with a serious expression.

"It was just an accident that Harry didn't eat my dust; don't worry, Karl, I've already made a strict holiday training plan, and I'll definitely come up with nine more ways to beat him."

Karl:

What else could he say? He could only smile and express approval, "Go for it, brother! You can do it!"

After Cedric boarded the Thestral carriage, Nina raised an eyebrow at Karl, "See? You caused trouble, didn't you?"

"That's not my business, is it? It's clearly Cho's problem! She needs to take primary responsibility!"

"Come on, you started it anyway."

Karl began to ponder, "How about next time during the match, I go and club Harry?"

Nina: —·

"That's a good idea, just don't think about it again. Harry is innocent."

The two agreed to communicate by owl post, and Nina also boarded the Thestral carriage.

Karl watched his friends leave, then quickly returned to the Castle.

Upon arriving at the Gryffindor Dean's office, Professor McGonagall was already waiting for him.

"Let's go, Karl, Nicolas Flamel should be arriving soon."

"Alright!"

Returning home to Hogsmeade Village via the Floo Network, the Cat Mom and Cat Cub, after discussing, decided to go to the village entrance to greet him.

Although Dumbledore told them to just wait at home, but...

That was Nicolas Flamel! The six-hundred-year-old legendary Alchemist!

This was beyond mere high esteem! They had to treat him with utmost respect!

However, just as Professor McGonagall and Karl closed their courtyard gate, they saw an elderly couple walking towards them.

With white hair and wrinkled faces, the two, supporting each other, were very thin but stood tall.

Cat Mom and Cat Cub exchanged glances, confirmed their target, and quickly hurried forward.

"It's an honor to meet you, Mr. Nicolas Flamel, and Ms. Perenelle Flamel, I am Minerva McGonagall."

"I am Karl O'Laughlin."

Nicolas Flamel and Perenelle Flamel both showed kind smiles on their faces.

"Albus told us about you. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss McGonagall, and little Karl~"

Chapter 104: Nicolas Flamel's Gift

Karl's first meeting with Nicolas Flamel left a deep impression on him.

Because the old man quickly gave him a big surprise!

When Professor McGonagall and Karl wanted to invite the Flamels into their home, the old man gestured for them to wait a moment.

"Minerva, Karl, do you mind if we become neighbors?"

"Of course not!" x 2

Are you kidding me! This kind of good fortune is something you can't even beg for!

So many people want it, but they don't have the connections!

So, under the watchful eyes of Cat Mom and Cat Cub, Nicolas Flamel took out his wand and gave it a shake, and the sound of hooves echoed from a distance.

Soon, a carriage galloped and stopped in the empty lot next to their house.

"Click, clack—"

Amidst the sound of gears turning and mechanisms operating, the carriage rapidly split apart, transformed, and expanded.

In just a few breaths, a two-story building appeared on the empty lot, almost identical to their own house.

Big Cat and Little Cat were simultaneously shocked: (◎)

"Is this… this also Alchemy?"

Karl was dumbfounded, feeling as if he had seen a universal capsule in a daze.

Coach! I want to learn this!

What travel tent? I'm not familiar with it!

Nicolas Flamel patiently explained to him, "Although a little bit of other things were added, it is indeed Alchemy."

"Only a little bit?"

"Of course, it only looks complicated, but it's very simple to do in practice."

Looking at Nicolas Flamel's sincere eyes, Karl actually had the illusion that he could do it too.

"Besides Alchemy, what else do I need to learn?"

"Well, just a little bit of mechanical engineering, a little bit of civil engineering, a little bit of materials science and engineering, plus theoretical, structural, and material mechanics, and that's about it."

Karl: (straight face)

What the heck! Are you playing with me? This old man is very wicked! He doesn't seem like a good person!

No wonder he could become lifelong friends with Dumbledore; they are both equally cunning old men.

Madam Perenelle smiled and patted her husband, gesturing for him to rein in his mischievousness.

"Minerva, would you mind taking a walk with me in the village?"

"Of course, it would be my pleasure."

Before Professor McGonagall left with Madam Perenelle, she gave Cat Cub a warning look.

Behave yourself! Mr. Flamel is old and can't handle your antics!

Karl: …

Who's being rowdy? I'm innocent! It's clearly this old man teasing me!

Forget it! What can I do since he's old!

If he were to lie down on the ground, I wouldn't be able to clear my name even if I jumped into the Black Lake.

"Come on, little Karl, I'll take you to visit my workshop. There are many interesting little inventions inside."

Nicolas Flamel raised an eyebrow at Karl, "And, of course, a gift I prepared for you."

Karl: (w)

"Hehe~ How can I accept that~"

"You mean you don't want it?"

"Please lead the way!"

The old man and the young boy walked into the two-story building, and the space inside was surprisingly large.

This was within Karl's expectations; if anyone said Nicolas Flamel didn't understand the Undetectable Extension Charm, Karl would be the first not to believe it.

Following the old man through the corridor, they arrived at his experimental workshop.

In a room comparable to the Hogwarts Great Hall, there were many shelves displaying a large number of alchemical items.

"So many?"

He used to be short-sighted; it turns out this is what a treasure-hoarding old man should look like.

"Actually, it's not bad. After all, I've lived for several centuries, and even if I often slack off, it's enough to accumulate these souvenirs."

Nicolas Flamel took Karl on a tour, then solemnly thanked him.

"Little Karl, thank you for the suggestion you gave Albus, which made us change our minds and decide to wait a few more years."

"Although my wife and I both believe that death is merely the next great adventure, we were actually worried about being alone."

"If two people can go together, or even with good friends, then the adventure called death will be even more anticipated."

Karl scratched his head, a little embarrassed, as he had only said it casually at the time.

The people who truly deserved thanks should be Dumbledore, and perhaps Elvis Heller.

"Uh—you don't have to be so polite!"

Let's get to the point quickly; if he keeps being so polite, Karl will feel too awkward to accept the gift.

No choice! Being thin-skinned is like this!

Nicolas Flamel pulled Karl to the workbench, then picked up two wooden boxes and handed them to him.

"My wife and I have prepared two gifts for you, one handmade by each of us. Which one do you like more?"

Karl: …

Can I like both? I can't offend either of you old folks!

While complaining inwardly, he quickly opened both wooden boxes.

One contained an armguard, simple in design and very grand in appearance.

The other contained a ring, completely black and unremarkable.

Karl looked curiously at Nicolas Flamel, waiting for him to introduce them.

"This armguard was inspired by the armor fragments Albus sent me. It can summon a magic shield to protect your safety."

"And the ring has a powerful Repelling Charm fixed on it by Perenelle, which can keep danger away from you."

Nicolas Flamel patted Karl's shoulder, "Albus told me that you are also going to Tara Hill in Ireland, so we hope they can provide you with some help."

At this point, he revealed a cunning smile again, "If you encounter danger, remember to hide behind Albus and Grindelwald. Anyway, they're both old, what do you say?"

Karl: …

What the old man said was both touching and amusing.

"Hmm! I think that makes a lot of sense!"

Nicolas Flamel chuckled, gesturing for Karl to try on the armguard and ring to test their effects.

Karl didn't hesitate and quickly equipped them.

The armguard was worn on his left hand, just covering his wrist, and didn't affect him putting away or taking out things.

With a thought, a transparent rectangular shield appeared.

Ah, is this that woman?

Karl increased his magical input, and the transparent shield grew larger again, accompanied by a slight electric sound.

Very good! Now all he needs is a hammer!

Heroes Assemble! Take my hammer!

He could already imagine himself holding a shield and protecting his teammates.

He could even cosplay Braum and say a few lines: "Stand behind Karl! My shield is with you!"

After putting away the magic shield, Karl raised his right hand, wearing the ring, and threw a direct punch.

"Whoosh!"

A strong wind howled, and the immense force knocked over the shelves in the distance.

This familiar scene made Karl instantly recall Ollivander's wand shop.

"Listen—I'm sorry!"

"It's alright, that's perfectly normal. Albus did the same thing back then."

Nicolas Flamel waved his wand indifferently, restoring everything to its original state.

"How is it? Do you like it?"

Karl nodded like a pecking chick, "I love them! These two gifts are amazing!"

"Mr. Flamel, do they have names?"

Nicolas Flamel thought for a moment, "Let's call them the Resisting Armguard and the Ring of Distancing."

"They don't sound very cool."

"Because these are blessings from Perenelle and me. We hope you can resist all harm and stay away from all dangers."

Just as Karl was feeling touched, he heard the old man add another sentence.

"So, which one do you like more? You're not allowed to say both, because this determines who sleeps on the sofa tonight, Perenelle or I."

Karl: …

Am I also part of your public display of affection?

Chapter 105: Visiting Newt – An Unexpected Turn of Events

At first, Professor McGonagall was quite happy.

After all, becoming neighbors with a legendary Alchemist meant she wouldn't have to worry about Karl's Ancient Runes research and Alchemy grades anymore.

However, this good mood didn't last for more than a few days before she became somewhat restless.

Because in Professor McGonagall's eyes, Karl had turned into a little squirrel busy hoarding food for winter, constantly collecting things for his home.

That's right, he was collecting them from Nicolas Flamel, all of them his Alchemy creations.

"Karl, aren't you taking a bit too much? Is Mr. Flamel really not going to mind?"

Professor McGonagall looked at Karl, returning with a full load, then at the room that was almost too full to fit anything else, and finally asked.

"No, it was all agreed upon beforehand."

Karl motioned for Cat Mom not to worry; these Alchemy items were Nicolas Flamel's way of bribing him.

It was all to make Karl choose the Gauntlet of Resistance as his favorite gift, so he could win a bet with his wife, Perenelle.

It's just that the development of events deviated slightly from Nicolas Flamel's imagination.

As an old couple who had been together for several hundred years, Perenelle saw through his trick at a glance and then ruled that Nicolas Flamel, due to cheating, successfully earned the reward of sleeping on the couch.

Karl: Well done!

"So that's what happened, but even though Nicolas lost the bet, he still opened his collection to me."

"In his words, leaving them there would be a waste; it's better for me to take them out and play with them."

After hearing the whole story, Professor McGonagall didn't know what to say.

She felt that the image of this legendary Alchemist in her mind was starting to become strange.

Hmm, truly Albus's good friend.

"Minerva, look! I found another Alchemy eye mask! It allows your eyes to get full rest while you sleep, guaranteeing no dark circles! It's for you!"

"Thank you, Karl~"

Professor McGonagall patted his head with satisfaction; she had already received many similar gifts.

Such as pillows that relax the mind, chairs that relieve fatigue, hairpins that nourish the hair...

Oh my! Whose child is this thoughtful? So enviable!

What? Mine? Oh, never mind then!

"By the way, you're going to play with Nina tomorrow. Do you want to pick out some gifts?"

"Don't worry, Minerva! I've prepared everything, even her three Kneazles aren't left out."

"That's good. Don't just focus on playing when you get there. Act a little more obedient, got it?"

Karl: (・_・;)

Although… Cat Mom, why does that sound so strange? Do I really need to act?

"Minerva, I think you've misunderstood me slightly; I've always been very obedient."

"Pfft——hahaha——*cough cough*!"

Professor McGonagall forcibly suppressed the corners of her mouth under Karl's displeased gaze.

"Do you need me to take you?"

"No, I know the address, and Nicolas gave me a magic compass. I'll just fly there on a Thestral tomorrow."

Nicolas Flamel and Newt Scamander are old friends, and one lives in Devon, and the other in Dorset.

These two places are right next to each other, and they used to meet up frequently.

So this magic compass can accurately pinpoint Newt's house, comparable to satellite navigation.

The next morning, Karl bid farewell to Professor McGonagall, Nicolas Flamel, and Perenelle.

"I'm off to play!"

"Be careful on your way, and don't forget to let us know when you arrive."

Nicolas Flamel pointed to the Phoenix embossed book on the table; this thing was a communication device he made.

Any Wizard who possessed this book could communicate with another Wizard on specific pages.

He had given one to Newt Scamander before and had made another for Karl these past few days.

"Alright~ Don't worry~"

Karl returned to Hogwarts Castle via the Floo Network and then headed straight for the Forbidden Forest.

"Hagrid! Get me a Thestral, the kind that flies fast and steady!"

"Already prepared," Hagrid whistled into the forest, and soon a Thestral ran out, "This is the leader of the Thestral herd in the Forbidden Forest, its name is Seth."

"Huh? What? Se—Seth?"

Karl: (@_@;)

In a daze, he seemed to hear someone roaring: Fight! Awesome!

Hagrid noticed his strange expression, "Yes, is there a problem?"

"No problem! Just hearing the name, I know it must fly very well!"

"Chirp~"

Karl called out Fire Treasure, preparing to buddy up with the Thestral, Seth.

Ever since he had killed a few Dark Wizards, he had been able to see these magical creatures.

Honestly, the reason he found Norberta pleasing so quickly was truly thanks to the Thestral.

"Old driver, take me. I'm going to Dorset. Don't crash into a wall or eat tar on the way, even though your name is Seth, you don't have zombies."

Under Hagrid's bewildered gaze, Karl muttered a string of words to the Thestral.

Although the Thestral didn't understand what this little Wizard was saying, it couldn't resist Fire Treasure's high affinity.

Fire Treasure: (*>▽<*)

Soon, Karl rode the Thestral soaring into the sky, "Thanks, Hagrid! See you!"

"See you, Karl! Remember to say hello to Mr. Scamander, Nina, and Norberta for me!"

"Al—right—*Ptooey*!"

Because the Thestral was flying too fast, Karl almost choked on the wind that rushed into his mouth.

It's worth noting that the Firebolt, which would only be released next year, had a speed of 150 miles per hour, and the Thestral was even faster than the Firebolt.

He arrived in Dorset with the wind blowing fiercely the whole way.

Using the magic compass, Karl found Newt's house on a secluded beach.

Phew! Ocean view house, big villa!

So enviable!

After letting the Thestral land at the entrance, Karl straightened his wind-blown clothes and walked up to knock on the door.

"? What's going on? Is no one home? Nina wouldn't stand me up, would she?"

After waiting for a long time without anyone opening the door or hearing any response from inside the house, Karl was a bit confused.

"Homenum Revelio!"

Karl drew his wand and spun in place, a large amount of golden mist spewing from the tip of his wand, spreading outwards.

And within the mist, Nina's ethereal figure appeared; she and two other people hurriedly left the house.

Karl followed the direction and found a rocky area below a distant seaside cliff.

"That's…

A familiar eerie green beam flashed, and Karl's eyes widened instantly, "Avada Kedavra!"

He quickly ran back to the Thestral, jumped straight onto it, "Fly over there quickly!"

The Thestral, hearing the command, let out a strange, shrill cry, its wide wings beating powerfully, soaring into the sky like a crossbow bolt.

"Found them!"

As the Thestral rapidly approached, Karl, from his vantage point, clearly saw the situation in the rocky area.

Newt Scamander, along with Tina Goldstein and Queenie Goldstein, were battling a dozen Dark Wizards.

Spells flew wildly, and beams of light crisscrossed, shattering many rocks, and the seawater churned into raging waves.

Nina was also standing on a rock, seemingly rescuing a mother and daughter who were drowning.

Phew! Good that they're okay! He was just scared when a Dark Wizard suddenly attacked from the side, raising his wand and aiming it at Nina.

"You're asking for death!"

A dangerous cold glint flashed in Karl's eyes; he immediately drew his sword and flung it out with force.

"Boom!"

Accompanied by thunder and lightning, a violent bolt of lightning instantly pierced through the void.

Chapter 106 Merperson, Battle, Overwhelming

[Time Reversal]

"La la la~"

Nina hummed a cheerful tune, carrying a pot of fresh flowers as she walked through the living room.

Queenie: (—_—)

Tina, also sitting on the sofa, saw this scene and inwardly rejoiced.

"What kind of expression is that?"

"I don't know, but I'm just really annoyed."

"Isn't she just tidying up the room for a friend who's visiting? Why are you annoyed?"

Tina patted her sister's shoulder in comfort, "Act normal, or Nina will worry about you."

"Hmph! I've been sitting here all morning! When did she even see me?"

Queenie gnawed on a lemon sherbet candy, grinding her teeth, "And preparing fresh flowers? Is that Karl O'Laughlin a little male Wizard with a maiden's heart? Do I need to provide a few small dresses?"

Looking at her jealous sister, Tina almost burst out laughing, "This is Nina's first time inviting a friend over. Watch your attitude. I heard Nina say that Karl is an excellent little Wizard."

Queenie gave a cold laugh, "I'd like to see how excellent he is! Does he have an extra head?"

"Actually, I think—"

Newt, who was pretending to read a book nearby, was about to speak up and say a few good words for his young junior.

But he met Queenie's expressionless gaze and had to close his mouth, giving his wife a pleading look.

Tina nodded, indicating she understood, and was about to say something when she heard Queenie start muttering.

"Oh, I was wrong, I was really wrong. I shouldn't have agreed to let Nina come to Hogwarts for a year in the first place. If I hadn't let Nina come, she wouldn't have stayed at Hogwarts—"

"Cough!"

Newt coughed loudly, "Hogwarts is still very good, especially Hufflepuff."

Queenie immediately glared at him, "I never noticed before, but as a dropout, you still have such deep feelings for the school."

Pfft!

Newt felt an arrow hit his chest!

"Rolf!" After finishing with Newt, Queenie looked at Rolf Scamander, who was eating snacks, "Come to Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with me? Europe is still too dangerous!"

Not to mention Gellert Grindelwald, who still made her shudder, she heard that Hogwarts had a dangerous person named Lord Voldemort a few years ago. It didn't look like a good place to study at all.

"Ah? Let me think about it!"

Rolf Scamander scratched his head. Originally, he was going to go to Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with Nina.

But now that Nina was staying at Hogwarts, he didn't know how to choose.

After all, there was no one he knew at Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, while Nina was at Hogwarts.

Oh, and there was a distant relative, Anthony Goldstein, who was sorted into Ravenclaw and would be a second-year when school started again.

"What are you all talking about?"

Nina, having put away the flowers, came down the stairs, looking at the four of them curiously.

"Hmm—nothing, just wondering what your friend Karl will be like."

Nina's eyes sparkled as she looked at Tina, her voice cheerful, "He's super amazing!"

Queenie rolled her eyes. Before she could speak, a horn mixed with the sound of waves came from outside.

"That sound—"

Newt's expression became serious. He immediately drew his wand, "Suitcase, Accio!"

After catching the briefcase, he instantly Apparated and disappeared.

Queenie saw Tina pick up her wand and was about to follow, so she quickly grabbed her arm, "What happened? Is it a battle?"

"A friend nearby just sent out a distress signal. Newt and I need to go save them."

Tina casually picked up Rolf, "You go to the basement and stay there. Don't come out unless we return, and don't respond to any noise."

"Ah?"

Rolf Scamander hadn't even reacted before he was dragged away by three Kneazles biting his clothes.

"Nina, you—"

"I'm coming with you!" Nina clutched her wand tightly, her eyes firm and her attitude resolute.

Tina and Queenie exchanged glances. There was no time to argue now, "Be careful and follow behind us!"

The three immediately rushed out the door, running towards the direction of the horn sound.

After seeing Newt's back standing on the reef in the distance, Tina took the two of them and Disapparated, appearing beside Newt.

"Kaya! Are you alright?"

Tina was surprised to see her Merperson friend, and her daughter Yara, hiding in the sea water beside the reef.

They both looked very weak, and the little Merperson Yara looked even more terrified.

Kaya's pale face wore a bitter smile, "I'm fine, I just brought trouble and danger to you and Newt."

"Yara and I were caught by a group of Dark Wizards and kept in an underwater cage. Although we escaped, but—"

She tilted her head, revealing the chain around her neck, "This thing can't be removed. As long as those Dark Wizards chant a spell, it will keep tightening, making me unable to breathe, so I had to ask you for help."

After hearing Kaya and Yara's ordeal, anger appeared on Newt and Tina's faces, and Queenie and Nina's eyes welled up with pity.

Just then, a large fishing boat approached quickly from a distance.

Kaya hugged the trembling Yara, her voice incredibly solemn, "They're here!"

"Don't worry, Kaya, everything will be fine. Nina, help heal their injuries."

"Okay!"

Nina immediately pointed her wand at Kaya and Yara, "Nature's Blessing!"

As the emerald green aura full of life force healed their injuries, the fishing boat also arrived nearby, and more than twenty Dark Wizards jumped from the boat onto the nearby reefs.

"Mr. Newt Scamander, the famous, I didn't expect to meet you here."

A white-haired old man looked at the case in Newt's hand, his eyes full of greed.

"Unfortunately, I have more important matters this time, otherwise we could discuss a trade."

At this point, the white-haired old man's expression turned fierce, "Hand over those two Merpeople, Mr. Scamander, I don't want to die with you!"

Before he could finish his sentence, Queenie directly attacked, a single Expelliarmus spell sending a Dark Wizard into the sea, his fate unknown.

"This person wants to kill us!"

As a natural Legilimency master, a Wizard who hadn't practiced Occlumency couldn't hide their thoughts from her at all.

As for the special case of wands with Thestral hair as their core, Queenie only knew Nina and her friend Karl.

Tina cast Stupefy, knocking down another Dark Wizard who was aiming his wand at Queenie.

Newt, meanwhile, Apparated to a distant reef, waving his wand to summon flocks of birds, disrupting the opponents' vision and attention.

At the same time, he secretly threw out a Swooping Evil, taking down two people in just a few breaths.

"Avada Kedavra!"

"Boom!"

The deadly green beam of the Killing Curse struck, forcing Newt to dodge quickly, and the reefs along its path shattered and fell into the sea.

After Apparating to a new position again, Newt gave up the idea of having his magical creature companions assist him.

If he really got hit by the Killing Curse, the only outcome would be death.

"Damn it! Kill them!"

Following the white-haired old man's exasperated roar, more than a dozen Dark Wizards rushed forward together.

"Confringo!" x3

Newt, Tina, and Queenie simultaneously pointed their wands at the sea, and amidst violent explosions, they created waves eight or nine meters high, temporarily blocking the opponent's attack.

"Nina! Watch out!"

Queenie suddenly cried out in alarm, seeing a Dark Wizard unexpectedly launch a flank attack, heading straight for Nina and the mother-daughter Merpeople, Kaya and Yara.

Nina, who had been on high alert the whole time, quickly held her wand horizontally in front of her. Because Karl had made her practice it so many times, she instinctively used a small combo.

First, a Shield Charm for protection, then a Frost Charm for slowing, and finally, Expelliarmus to subdue the enemy.

However, before her Frost Charm could land on the Dark Wizard, a blinding bolt of lightning pierced through the void and struck down from the sky.

"Ah!"

In the fractured rock crater, the Dark Wizard was pinned to the reef by the lightning, twitching a few times before becoming lifeless, turning into charcoal.

Everyone instinctively looked up at the sky, only to see huge white fireballs everywhere, crashing down like a meteor shower.

"This… this is—divine punishment?"

Hearing the panicked words of his subordinate Dark Wizards, the white-haired old man roared fiercely, "Idiots! Scamander's helper is here! Quickly block the fireballs! Otherwise—"

Before he finished speaking, his pupils suddenly contracted.

Because a young Wizard, completely enveloped in flames, had already descended from the sky and punched him.

"Avada—"

"Whoosh!"

The powerful force stirred up a howling wind, directly overturning the white-haired old man and the four Dark Wizards beside him, sending them tumbling.

The magic cloak given by Cat Mom flapped, helping Karl land lightly.

While the Gubraithian Fire falling from the sky obscured vision, the black mist from his shadow surged out, quickly engulfing the five Dark Wizards who tried to resist, then melting away and transforming into vengeful spirits.

"Oh? I didn't expect an unexpected gain!"

After reviewing the white-haired old man's memories, Karl's mouth curved upwards, and he snapped his fingers, making the Soul-Eating Night black mist return to his shadow.

By this time, Newt, Tina, and Queenie had retreated to Nina's side, watching in shock as the sky-high Gubraithian Fire incinerated all the Dark Wizards to ashes.

The next second, all the flames vanished.

A handsome young Wizard appeared before them, a smile on his face, greeting them very politely.

"Hello Mr. Newt Scamander, Ms. Tina Goldstein, Ms. Queenie Goldstein, I am Nina's friend Karl O'Laughlin, it's a pleasure to meet—huh?"

Before he could finish speaking, Nina happily rushed over and hugged him.

Although the sweet, soft little girl was comfortable to hug, couldn't she hug him when no one else was around? Are you deliberately trying to trick me?

Queenie Grandma's gaze is so dangerous!

"Karl! Thank you for saving me just now!"

"Really? Were you scared before? I thought you handled it quite well."

"It was all an act, I was actually scared to death inside. Good thing you came."

"Then you better remember that well!"

Watching Karl and Nina chat like that, Newt and Tina exchanged a smile, then looked at a certain person.

Queenie: (° Blood x)
