"David confirmed the financial attack started this morning."
Marcus looked up from his coffee. Three days had passed since the first encrypted message from Kieran, and they had spent every hour preparing their defenses.
"And?" Aria wheeled to the table where Marcus was going through reports.
"And we blocked everything because we expected it." Marcus turned his laptop so she could see. "They tried to cut our credit lines, pressure our banks, and spread rumors about insolvency, but we secured every account beforehand and warned our partners."
"So Kieran's information was correct."
"It was accurate, so we can rely on him for operational intelligence." Marcus shut the laptop. "David is creating a secure channel for regular contact. Kieran wants another call this afternoon."
"What does he want to talk about?"
"Next steps." Marcus stretched. "He says he has intel about their structure and wants to combine efforts so we aren't repeating the same work."
