Chapter 19 - A Meeting of Fate II

(Cyrus's POV)

"My Lord." Torys said, "We've been informed that the Princes will begin their search on the morrow. Are we to join them?"

I was lying on a bed, inside an abandoned house somewhere in the city. I was still a bit baffled at the interaction I had with that Princess girl. She basically checked me out and slapped my ass, saying something about her having me.

What the actual hell was wrong with her?

She looked rather young too, no older than 17. What is up with the people here? Do they think that because they're royals, they can do whatever they want? Who am I kidding? Of course they do. Even so, that Old Man seems rather pragmatic. He doesn't seem to be the kind of guy who lets things get to his head when it comes to ruling. Which makes sense if you want to run a massive kingdom like the one he claims he has.

"Hm...." I said to Torys who was standing there too, "Yea, we will. What do you guys know about the Targaryens?"

"Depends." Torys said, "Do you mean as a whole or the current Royal Family?"

"Both." I said

"Well, they are a Valyrian House that escaped the Doom of Valyria." He told me as he sat down on a seat, "They are the last of the Dragonlord Families, who have the ability to claim and ride Dragons. Those beasts don't let just anyone get near them. The Dragonkeepers are an exception, they are nurtured from young to be used to them, but even they are cautious."

"Hm." I said, looking up at the ceiling, "So.....they escaped Valyria, which I assume is in Essos. They came here.....and landed on an island?"

Some of the things Emily rambled about were coming back, but I wanted to make sure I had the information correct.

"Yes. Dragonstone." Torys continued, "They resided in Dragonstone for some time until Aegon I. After he became the Lord of House Targaryen at the time, he decided to conquer the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Alongside his two sister-wives, he did just that. The Conquest established House Targaryen as the ruling Dynasty of Westeros and since then, they stayed on the Iron Throne."

"Sister-wives." I scoffed, "Of course. And the Iron Throne. Made out of the swords of his enemies, welded by the flames of a dragon."

"Balerion, yes." Torys said, "There have been 3 Kings before Jaehaerys; Aegon, Aenys, and Maegor."

"Hm...." I said, "And Jaehaerys is the current one. The Wise."

"That is correct." He said

"I don't trust him." I said, "I feel like he's going to try something."

"That may be the case. He is technically a servant of The Faith and would do anything to appease it without stooping so low as to allow them to rise above the Crown." Torys told me, "Dealing with our order might cause some discord, but Jaehaerys is no fool."

"He knows what I am capable of." I said, "He will be cautious."

"Indeed." He said, "Anything to keep the peace, however. Something he tried so hard to maintain, especially after ascending to the throne after Maegor's rule."

"Let me get this straight. Jaehaerys is the King and he has many children, I assume?" I asked

"Yes." He said

"The Princes are the oldest, I take it." I said, "Pair of pricks."

"That is right. Two of his three sons. The third is a Maester, so he is of no concern." He told me, "Aemon and Baelon are formidable warriors with their respective dragons. Aemon rides Caraxes and Baelon rides Vhagar, the largest dragon that is active."

I frowned, "What does that mean?"

"Balerion is currently inactive. The Mightiest Dragon has fallen susceptible to age." Torys said

"Hm." I said, "So Jaehaerys has two sons who are dragonriders. And his daughters?"

"Only Alyssa Targaryen rides a dragon. The others do not." Torys explained, "Maegelle is but a Septa, a servant of the Faith. Daella is Lady Arryn, who has just given birth, according to our reports. And you've just met Saera."

"Tch." I said, "That stupid girl. She's the youngest?"

"No, My Lord. There is another Daughter, called Viserra." He said, "But she is very young at the moment."

I sat up, "What is up with that stupid girl?"

"If the rumors are correct, Princess Saera is a...very needy girl....." He said, "Being a Princess comes with its merits, especially if you are Jaehaerys's daughter. From what I hear, she was spoiled rotten as a child, and that carried over as she grew older."

"Hm....." I said, "You saw what she did, right?"

He nodded, "We all did." He said, "An insult to you, My Lord."

She slapped my ass. Which is interesting, I didn't think she would do so without activating my Logia abilities. Did I instinctively dismiss her as a threat? I was caught off-guard, sure, but I was more surprised that she didn't get burned.

"Stupid girl." I said with a scowl, "Princess or not...."

"Nobody does that to me and gets away with it."

**********

(Third Person POV)

"Daella is still bedridden." Alysanne said, "I intend to go see her, Alyssa."

Alyssa and Saera were standing before their mother, Queen Alysanne. They stood in the hallway as she was discussing their sister's condition. Princess Daella had just given birth recently and Alysanne was informed that the childbirth had taken a toll on her body. The child was safe and healthy, but Daella's condition was concerning.

"I would love to join you." Alyssa said, "But with all of this going on, I have to stay and make sure Baelon doesn't do anything foolish."

Alysanne nodded, "If that is what you wish." She said before looking at Saera, "As for you, do you wish to visit your elder sister?"

"Not really." Saera shook her head, "I have no reason to do so?"

"She is your blood." Alysanne frowned

"Hmph." Saera said, "I have much better things to do."

"Yea, like smacking asses." a voice said

The three of them turned to see Cyrus walking up to them with a serious frown on his face. They were surprised by this, not expecting to see the Man who was claimed to be R'hllor.

"You...." Alysanne said, looking around, "How did you get in here?"

"It's not difficult to sneak into a castle." Cyrus said as he stopped a few meters before them, "But I mean no harm."

Alyssa narrowed her eyes, "Is that so?"

"Not once have I attacked you people." Cyrus said, "On the contrary, you intended for your dragon to kill me. But I can forgive that, if I want to. But that is not why I am here."

Saera blushed slightly, placing her hands behind her, "Hmm...." She said with a smile, "I do wonder why you're here."

Cyrus pointed at Saera, "You should control your daughters, Alysanne Targaryen." He said seriously, "Otherwise, they'd get hurt."

"Hurt?" Alysanne stepped in front of Saera defensively, "What do you mean?"

Cyrus scowled, "That one smacked my ass." He said, "Doing something so foolish could have resulted in her arm being burned off. My body is made out of flames; anything that intends to harm me simply passes through. At that moment, I dismissed her as a threat, and my body did not react like it would to a cutting blade."

Saera chuckled, "I would smack it again if you want~"

"Saera!" Alyssa said with a scowl, "What's wrong with you!"

Alysanne frowned, "Why do you tell us this?"

"I don't like that look in her eye." Cyrus said, "That is all."

"Saera." Alysanne said, "What is the meaning of this?"

"Oh, Mother." Saera said with a slight smile, "I want him."

"He is to be mine~"
