As I'm sitting in the office looking at the envelope, I'm tempted to open it after what Sarah just said. I read the note on the front.
"Jay, just put this in the box by the door, I'll pick it up later tonight"- Mr Williams
I'm now super tempted since he won't be here any time soon, fuck it let's open it he won't know.
I open the brown envelope to reveal documents and some pictures, nothing out the ordinary I guess. I take them out and start reading the first page, it's a lot of just numbers and other shit that I'm trying to understand. One by one I go through every page, slowly reading and then finally realizing what's going on.
"Wait…. Is Williams running a drug ring out this community? Is that what's being delivered by these cars?"
I'm in shock, Eli was right not everything is what it seems. I continue in the documents and come across names and addresses of people in the neighborhood, then I remember the houses on the list, all of them are vacant. Are these people that found out what he's doing and he took care of the loose ends before more people found out, or am I just paranoid? I finally get to the pictures, confirming the drugs but also confirming the worst, he's killing everyone that finds out what he's got going on. I put everything back in the envelope and put it in the box looking like nothing ever happened but I'm slowly panicking, I just came across what's really going on on the neighborhood, I have to tell Eli, I pull out my phone and text her.
"Eli!!!"
"Yes daddy 😉"
"Now's not the time, I just checked the envelope…. This is bad"
"How bad?"
"Let's just say if Mr Williams finds out, I'm probably getting fired and killed"
"Wait what… what did you find"
"I'll tell you in person after work"
"Alright I'll leave the door open"
