Chapter 6 - Destroying an army.

I beat my massive wings, wide enough to cover entire city streets, as I tore through the sky at speeds that would put airplanes to shame.

I soon arrived at the edge of the old, enchanting and grand forest of the elves, where a run down and dilapidated city was seen in the distance. The more pressing issue was the fight happening between the elves and humans on the border of the forest, in a barren stretch of land.

Swords were clashing, spears were piercing and medieval-style tactics were being used. There were also some special humans and elves. One was a human, he looked to be middle aged, with a noble bearing and a fierce expression on his weathered and cold face. He exuded a dangerous power, which I am assuming is Aura.

On the eleven side, there was a slim and slender woman, with black hair and vibrant green eyes, who seemed to be dancing through the enemy forces with grace and agility, as she used her two deadly daggers to cut and stab, in a dance of death.

She must be the commander of the elves, I mused internally.

The rest of the soldiers were just normal mortals, no Aura was sensed or being used. It seems Aura users are rare.

As soon as I appeared, and slowed like a machine of destruction, the mortals below just from my presence alone, seemed to pass out from shock and fear.

I did not waste anytime, I simply flew over the human attackers and rained down a breath of white flames, as they seemed to paradoxically freeze and burn at the same time.

The breath covered massive amounts of distance and space, as it froze the mortals in place, before burning them instantly, making them disintegrate into dust as soon as the heat was triggered.

Out of what must have been over hundred thousand soldiers, barely ten thousand must be left after this tidal wave of annihilation. Screams and blood gurgling groans reached me, but I did not even spare them a glance, It actually shocked me how easily I could just kill humans.

I did not have time to ponder further, as the man from earlier, the only one who had Aura among the humans, who must be the commander of this attack force, shot at me with speeds that would seem like teleportation to a normal human, to me though, he was as slow as a child trying to outrun an adult.

He must be only be an Aura Master, he can project aura externally and create powerful strikes, but cannot fly or manipulate elements.

As I was in the air, the man appeared below and charged up an Aura Slash with his sword, as the sword glowed with energy and a humming vibration sound was heard throughout the area as if charging up a railgun, the man shouted arrogantly.

"Damn you, dragon!"

Before unleashing it, it was not fast nor slow, I could have dodged it even with my massive body, but instead I let it hit me. I wanted to break him, show him how insignificant he really is. I do not know why these feelings were bubbling up in me...

BOOM!

The strike hit with a force of a bomb, as an explosion was heard echoing around the battlefield and smoke bellowed into the air. The remaining, broken and morale hungry soldiers seemed to perk up slightly, as I was hit, but that all went away when I used wind element to dissipate the thick and musty smoke, to reveal my scales with a slight burn mark on them.

I looked at him condescendingly. "Is that all? It barely scratched me!" My voice boomed making the air vibrate.

The man seemed shocked, but not broken, he gritted his teeth and jumped high, further injecting Aura into his legs to propel himself at my eye to strike it. Usually, I would not care, his strike while in this form of mine should just bounce off my eye, but it was the blade, it seemed to hum as if alive.

'System, what is that weapon? It feels dangerous.' I said internally again.

"Host, that is a Legendary-Grade weapon, it is second only to God-Grade, if hit directly by it, you could be injured."

I decided to stop playing around and deal with this minor threat.

As he fell, he used the momentum of his descent to launch a desperate strike at my eye. I twisted mid-air, my massive body bending and warping the air around me. In the same motion, I lashed out with my tail like a whip, striking him hard across the side. Bound by gravity, he couldn't evade, the very force he tried to use against me became his downfall.

He seemed shocked that an arrogant dragon, would actually think in a fight, and not rely on their innate physique to squash opponents.

The spikes on my long and graceful tail, stabbed into the man with a sickening crunch, as his flesh and bone were shattered and splattered, before he was launched miles in a second and died instantly, as he hit the ground.

The sword fell from his hands as he was launched, I grabbed it in my long and sharp claws, I think my dragon desires for treasures are kicking in... before taking to the skies. The elves and that elf girl commander should be able to deal with the stragglers.

Time to go get that city, I think I already know what to cash that wish in for...
