Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: A Failed MAN!

Under Du Mu's Great Memory Restoration Technique, Elektra finally recovered all her memories.

However, the cost was Elektra's face swelling up like a pig's head, a truly gruesome sight.

Sensing his ex-girlfriend's pitiful state, Matt's heart ached.

He endured the pain, limping and shuffling over to Elektra: "Elektra, I…"

Bang!

Elektra delivered another groin kick, sending Matt collapsing to the ground again.

The memory-restored Elektra was clearly more hot-tempered than when she had amnesia.

Especially when she realized she'd been beaten into the shape of a pig's head, she grew even angrier!

But she couldn't beat Du Mu, so she had to vent all her fury on Matt, her ex-boyfriend.

"So what exactly did Lawyer Matt do to make his ex-girlfriend act so ruthlessly?"

Du Mu was filled with curiosity.

He couldn't help but reasonably suspect it might have something to do with Matt's overly sensitive physique.

After brutally kicking Matt, Elektra seemed to have vented some of her anger and calmed down a little.

With her swollen pig's head, she dropped a cold sentence.

"The Hand has set its sights on you guys. Take care of yourselves."

With that, Elektra turned and left without a moment's hesitation, completely ignoring Matt's lingering, reluctant expression.

Du Mu didn't take Elektra's warning to heart at all.

Just an ordinary ninja organization.

They couldn't form hand signs, didn't have cosmetic contact lenses or tattoos, so what was there to worry about?

"You've completed the task well, Agent Du Mu."

Nick Fury was, as always, sitting behind his desk, exactly like an immovable NPC in a video game.

He pulled open a drawer, took out a new ID and a stack of files, and pushed them across.

"Your Level 6 Agent clearance has been activated. This is your new ID and the corresponding clearance instructions. Remember, Level 6 means you can access more secrets, and it also means bearing greater responsibility."

[Mission 'Ninja Mystery' settlement complete!]

[Reward: Level 6 S.H.I.E.L.D. (Hydra) Agent Clearance Qualification]

[Your S.H.I.E.L.D. (Hydra) identity clearance has been upgraded to: Level 6]

[New Function Modules Unlocked!]

[Function One: Detection System upgraded! New 'View NPC Basic Panel' function added]

[Function Two: Morality System activated!]

[Detection System: You can now view basic information of NPCs preliminarily]

[Morality System: Players have a certain probability of gaining Justice Points or Sin Points upon completing a specific objective or task. Justice Points and Sin Points do not cancel each other out]

Every time his identity clearance was upgraded, Du Mu's game system would unlock or upgrade more special functions.

For example, the convenient features he often used, such as map teleportation, mini-map enemy markers, and automatic looting, were all benefits from previous promotions.

Now, the system had upgraded again, bringing two new functions!

Du Mu already had a basic detection function, which previously usually only showed the NPC's name and title above their head.

The upgraded Detection System now allowed him to see more basic information!

He immediately used the detection function on Nick Fury in front of him.

[NPC: Nick Fury]

[Identity: Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Level 10 S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent]

[Affinity: 50]

[Assessment: One of the moles hidden within Hydra, famously nicknamed: Motherfker Man**]

Du Mu: "..."

How much has S.H.I.E.L.D. been infiltrated by Hydra? A complete sieve?

Du Mu was too weary to complain, turning his attention to the other newly unlocked Morality System.

This function wasn't very common in games, and he didn't know exactly how to acquire these Justice and Sin Points.

Du Mu thought for a moment and decided to find a place to test it out.

After leaving the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Du Mu returned to New York City and specifically looked for a neighborhood with relatively poor public safety.

Before long, he found his target in a secluded back alley.

A Black youth dressed in hip-hop style.

Standard Black thugs like this had a respawn rate as high as 60% in the alleys of some chaotic New York neighborhoods, and their equipment drop rate was terrifyingly high, far surpassing that of other countries.

When Du Mu first started playing the game, a large part of his early handgun ammunition supply came from farming these small mobs, which led to a period where New York's public safety actually improved significantly—it was a bit nostalgic to think about.

At this moment, the hip-hop Black man was snatching a handbag from a brown-haired woman.

The brown-haired woman was no match for the "gorilla" and quickly lost her handbag.

But the hip-hop Black man was not satisfied. He eyed the woman with a perverted expression, apparently planning to assault her as well.

"Excuse me, interruption."

A voice suddenly broke his action.

The hip-hop Black man turned his head and saw Du Mu standing behind him.

His fun interrupted, the hip-hop Black man pulled out a dagger and glared fiercely at Du Mu.

"Asian guy, I see you look pretty handsome. May I ask what the f**k you want?"

The hip-hop Black man's voice was trembling as he looked at the golden Desert Eagle pointed at his forehead.

F**k, he had run into a ruthless character!

Du Mu held up the golden Desert Eagle and said coldly, "Give the bag back!"

"O-okay, okay."

The hip-hop Black man dared not refuse and hurriedly returned the handbag to the brown-haired woman.

[Prevented a criminal activity, Justice Points +0.01]

Sure enough, it was similar to what Du Mu had assumed.

Since this was a game related to a superhero background, Justice Points were most likely linked to activities like fighting crime.

It was just that the Justice Points were a bit too few, and he didn't know what they were used for.

"Can I leave now?" the hip-hop Black man tentatively asked.

"No."

Du Mu pointed to the brown-haired woman's handbag: "Now, snatch the bag back."

The brown-haired woman: "???"

The hip-hop Black man: "???"

Dude, are you sick?!

The hip-hop Black man felt like he had encountered a lunatic.

But under the threat of the gun, he could only obey, snatching the brown-haired woman's handbag once again.

"Give the bag back!"

The hip-hop Black man: "..."

So, do you want me to snatch it or return it?! You're confusing the heck out of me!

If he wasn't being held at gunpoint, the hip-hop Black man would have definitely busted out a few lines of rap for Du Mu.

The hip-hop Black man returned the bag yet again, but this time the Justice Points did not increase.

Du Mu instantly lost interest.

It seemed he couldn't exploit a glitch to farm Justice Points.

Just then, a figure suddenly descended from the sky, landing on the fire escape ladder on the side of the alley.

"What's all the commotion? Are you guys having a secret party? Mind if I join in?"

Du Mu looked up and saw a strange guy wearing a red sleeveless hoodie, blue sweatpants, and goggles made from repurposed binocular barrels.

And on the person's clothes, a crude spider pattern was drawn.

This appearance looked somehow inexplicably shabby.

Du Mu used the detection function on him.

[NPC: Peter Parker]

[Codename: Spider-Man]

[Affinity: 10]

[Assessment: The embodiment of 'the rich rely on technology, the poor rely on mutation,' Uncle Killer, a failed MAN]

Why did this assessment sound so miserable?

Du Mu sensed the overwhelming loser aura emanating from Peter and instantly determined that the other party belonged to the latter category: "the poor rely on mutation."

Miserable, a loser.

That was Du Mu's first impression of Peter.

"Spider-Man! Save me quickly! This guy is a lunatic!"

The hip-hop Black man recognized Peter as the street hero who had recently emerged and immediately shouted for help.

He would rather be arrested and taken to the police station by this Spider-Man than die at the gunpoint of the lunatic Du Mu.

Peter actually hadn't arrived too late.

He had witnessed the hip-hop Black man snatching the brown-haired woman's handbag and knew that this hip-hop Black man was no good.

As for Du Mu, Peter thought he was a passerby who stepped in, and although his behavior was a bit odd, he had indeed stopped the hip-hop Black man's violence.

By all accounts, Peter naturally favored Du Mu's side.

Of course, Black lives matter too, and as a hero, Peter couldn't just stand by.

Peter advised, "Hold on, buddy, calm down. Put down the gun. Killing won't solve the problem."

Du Mu narrowed his eyes: "But it can solve the person who is creating the problem."

Peter paused slightly.

That line of reasoning seemed to hold up surprisingly well.
