Everyone in hall went silent as all focused their attention at Fidelia
The nurses gasped and some even covered their mouth while the doctor almost had a heart attack.
"Now," Fidelia said firmly, her voice carrying authority. "Get Victoria's mother into the best ward. I want her treated with maximum care. Every need she requires should be met. Wipe away every medical bill and clear it off the record."
Everyone stood stunned. Even Victoria stared at her, speechless.
The doctor couldn't believe it, there was no way the wife of Andrian Richardson would come and he wouldn't be aware. So he didn't believe her.
"M-Ma'am, I… I can't just do that," the doctor stammered, sweat forming on his forehead.
"Should I call Mr. Richardson again—?" Fidelia made a second call again "You are still keeping me waiting Andrian"
"Hold on a bit " He ended the call and the next second the doctor's phone rang. He picked it up with trembling hands.
Andrian's voice thundered through the speaker. "You're fired if I get there and my wife is still not being attended to! Fired! One more call from me, and you will never practice medicine again. Do you understand?"
The doctor's knees nearly buckled. "Y-Yes, sir!" He ended the call, his entire body shaking.
"Everyone, inside! Now!" the doctor shouted to the nurses. "Move her immediately! I want full attention on this patient. All the best treatments do you hear me? And clear every one of Victoria's bills at once!"
The nurses scrambled into action immediate getting over from the shock that 'It was true..she is the one'
Victoria was frozen, her mouth half-open. She looked at Fidelia as though she had never seen her before.
'So she was the Billionaire's Heir Son to be wife 'Victoria thought as she saw her mother being taken to be treated well and given the right treatment.
"Mrs Richardson, thank you so much. I'm so grateful for all you just did. I'll pay you back when…" Then she froze and thought. The company she had quit was in debt and bankruptcy. How was she going to pay millions of dollars back?
Seeing that she was getting the wrong idea, Fidelia spoke,
"Victoria, I didn't do that, so you could pay me immediately. Just count it as a gift. But we need to talk. I've been trying to reach out to you for days now. My guess is understandable."
Victoria looked at her and sighed in her heart.
' I knew it. There's always something attached. There's nothing free for me in this world' she thought to herself.
"Look, I really appreciate your help. I promise to pay you back…there's nothing I can do right now. If because you paid the whole bill want me to do anything bad or have to do with breaking the law, I won't"
"… I'll get a new job and find a way to pay you back."
'Oh God, how could her thinking go so wild like that'
"That's why I'm offering you a new job," Fidelia said calmly. "How would you like to work in Top Notch Investments Company? I bought the company some days ago, and I need your help in running it."
Once again, Victoria was in shock. She had always been attached to Top Notch Investments. Even though the old owner of the company was a pain in the neck and didn't make life easy for her, she still loved the place, and she loved the fact that she worked with her colleagues.
It was something she was passionate about. Now, here she was being offered a way back into it.
"Just think about it and give me a call," Fidelia said as she handed her a card. Victoria couldn't say anything at that moment. Her lips were sealed. She just held the card while Fidelia walked out.
Unknown to Victoria, someone in black suit had been watching her the whole time, stalking her from when she left the house, to when she arrived at the hospital, and reporting everything back on the phone to the person who sent him.
"Perfect," the voice on the other end said. "Now proceed as planned. Get someone. Stage it up and get it filmed immediately. Once you have done that, send it to the reporters. I want it as the number one trending news by the end of today."
A knock was heard in the doctor's office, and then he said,
"Come in." Fidelia entered. The moment the doctor saw her, he jumped on his feet immediately, leaving his chair. He greeted her quickly,
"I'm so sorry about earlier. I had no idea you were the one. Please forgive my behaviour."
"It's fine, doctor. So how's the patient?" Fidelia asked.
"She's getting the best treatment she can get right now. Hopefully, she recovers soon. I have one of the best nurses attending to her in case there's an emergency. Everything will be fully taken care of. And I've already handled the bills as requested."
"All right, good," Fidelia replied and was about to leave when the doctor spoke again nervously, "Ma'am, do you think you can speak to Mr. Richardson about this? It seems I pissed him off, and I could get fired any time."
Fidelia turned and looked at him and smiled "Oh? Don't worry about that, I'll speak to him. That shouldn't be a problem."
'I guess I had scared him too much'
The doctor finally calmed down. He had almost given himself a heart attack. Offending one of the Richardson family was something he could not afford to do. He had his own family to take care of. Any small mistake that ruined his name, and he was finished.
I could feel his worries but I wasn't the type to abuse power.. I knew how much abuse of power could cause. I was once a victim after all..
Fidelia took her phone and called Andrian as she stepped into the hallway.
"What did you say to the doctor? He looks so scared. I don't say you should threaten him now. You sounded like you told him he wasn't going to work as a doctor forever."
"That was what I told him."
"Wow really? You are heartless…. Anyways, no need to come again. Everything has been settled."
"I wasn't planning on coming either" Andrian said with a straightforward voice.
'Annoying as ever'Fidelia said in her mind as she hung up the call and tossed her phone into her bag when all of a sudden someone dragged her from behind.
She almost fell due to the shock and pull as she turned and saw a woman in a hospital gown who held her hand tight and the next thing she fell down on the ground, holding Fidelia's leg. Fidelia was shocked and a bit scared by the action.
"Please… give me 15 million. Please give me 15 million. I need it urgently."
"What?" Fidelia turned with her eyes opening wide in shock and confusion, looking at the victim who was dragging her to the ground too.
"Stop it!" she said, but the patient wouldn't stop. Then Fidelia yanked her hand back, trying to free her hand from the patient's grip. In doing so, the patient was pushed to the ground, and it created a loud noise.
"Are you okay?" Fidelia tried reaching out again.
But the patient stood up and then she slapped herself so hard, the sound echoing in the hallway.
Immediately, she shouted at Fidelia.
"How could you treat me like this? What have I done to you? I…I apologize for walking right into you but didn't even listen to me instead you slapped me" The woman was fuming, in tears now, her voice shaking then she continued again.
"This is all you rich people do all the time!"
"What? What are you saying? I did not hit you to stop this act!" Fidelia said, trying to defend herself from the lies the woman was spilling.
Meanwhile in a corner someone in black suit was recording the whole incident with their phone, personally getting it from a clear angle and smiling evilly.
"You slapped me and attacked me just for a small mistake. Aren't you the Fiancé of Andrian Richardson…and I was thinking you as a female would be different but you all are gold diggers who abuse power!!" The woman kept attacking Fidelia with words while she was trying to calm her down.
"Stop it this instant!" Fidelia said touching the lady but the lady screamed
By then, patients were already out and their phones capturing what was happening, nurses were rushing forward, all eyes on them. The commotion grew louder, whispers spreading fast.
Fidelia's heart pounded. She looked at the victim, then at the crowd, confused and trapped by what was happening.
That was when she realised that she had fallen into a trap. Someone had set her up.
