Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: He's Really So Dumb

No wonder Wu Tianqi wanted to make sure there was no one in the dormitory before closing the door.

Such an embarrassing conversation, if someone overheard, they might think Li Yang had some special kink.

"Enough already!"

"No way! If you don't add my aunt today, don't even think about leaving this room!"

"What's wrong with your brain? Didn't you ask me to stay away from your aunt before?"

Wu Tianqi: "..."

He didn't know his aunt knew so many girls, each with a pitiful background, waiting for him to save them.

Otherwise, would he have put on such a humiliating display today?

"Alas, Fellow Daoist Li, circumstances are stronger than men. I have dirt on me they can use. If you don't agree today, I might not make it till tomorrow; do you have the heart?"

"I have the heart."

"No, you're lying. You know I'm good at Qi Observation Skill."

"Can't you say something bad about me to your aunt?"

"I did..."

"And then?"

"It seems... the more I talked... the more excited she got..."

Wu Tianqi really didn't know what was going on. He exaggerated so much, painting Li Yang as a Demon Sect disciple.

"Then recount everything you said about me, from start to finish. Once you're done, I'll add her."

"Alright!"

As they walked to the cafeteria, Wu Tianqi recounted his entire conversation with Bai Qing.

Li Yang wasn't surprised. This guy would definitely do something like that to avoid becoming his uncle-in-law.

By the end, even Wu Tianqi felt embarrassed.

Li Yang looked at his uneasy expression and suddenly remembered that this guy couldn't lie.

Neither in this life nor the past.

At most, he'd mildly embellish a scenario or only tell half a story.

He didn't have the mind to concoct a story from scratch; otherwise, he wouldn't score just two hundred in every exam.

Science was undoubtedly challenging, but scoring only two hundred requires a lack of brains.

With so many multiple-choice questions, relying solely on guessing, statistically speaking, one could get around 120 points.

For Chinese reading comprehension and essays, bluffing a bit to meet word count could easily gain thirty or forty points.

Meaning, merely participating in the exam could grant you 150 points; getting another 50 points doesn't need much brainpower. Even a bit of wit could earn an extra fifty.

For science, 350 to 450 is the dividing line, equivalent to a normal high school student's base score.

For liberal arts, an additional fifty points is needed on top.

However, advanced liberal arts is a bit harder than advanced science; elite university scores in liberal arts are generally ten points lower than in science, and the Qingbei line is also two to three points lower.

Of course, what Li Yang was thinking wasn't about those, but something Wu Tianqi mentioned yesterday afternoon.

"Did you play basketball after school yesterday?"

"Yeah."

"And you ran into Jiang Banxia at the basketball court?"

"Yes, believe it or not, Jiang Banxia really went to the basketball court."

"And then?"

"Then, I was just playing, my phone was next to me; she picked it up, played for a bit, and left..."

Li Yang: "..."

Seeing that Li Yang hadn't agreed to his request yet, Wu Tianqi whispered, "Don't make me beg you in the cafeteria. If my family elder finds out I found a brother-in-law for them, I can't bear the consequences."

Li Yang took out his phone and said, "How can I not give the face of my dear nephew? I'll add her right away!"

Wu Tianqi: "..."

Endured.

For Mei.

He watched as Li Yang found Bai Qing's QQ and sent a friend request.

At that moment, he felt completely relieved.

"Fellow Daoist Li, there's one more thing I want to ask you."

"Hmm?"

"Did you dual cultivate with Jiang Banxia?"

"My 'hmm' was because... what did you just call me?"

"Crap! Bye, I'm going to class!"

Grabbing his unfinished bun, Wu Tianqi rushed out of the cafeteria.

Now that they've become friends, is there any need to sacrifice dignity?

At this moment, Bai Qing had already accepted Li Yang's friend request.

"Hubby, I miss you so much. Shall we have dinner together tonight? Maybe catch a late-night movie? Oh, and I can have something cold today..."

Li Yang replied, "I hadn't finished speaking, and your dear nephew ran off. I didn't even want to add you."

"He's gone mad... Don't be mad, hubby. I'll make him come back right away."

Ever since adding Bai Qing as a friend, Li Yang's phone, resting in his pocket, hasn't stopped vibrating.

If it weren't for the phone's shape, who knows what other uses it might have been developed for; Bai Qing would be a very sought-after friend.

Wu Tianqi never returned, only sending Li Yang a message.

Back in the dorm, he started taking photos of problems he couldn't solve and sending them to Jiang Banxia.

A little past eight, Jiang Banxia, during her first break from study sessions, replied.

"I solved the first few problems already. I'll send you the solution process shortly. If you don't understand, I'll explain it to you at midday tomorrow. As for the last problem... I spent a whole period on it, haven't found any leads yet; it's definitely beyond the syllabus. I'll give you the answer latest by tomorrow."

"Alright. No rush on my end; off-syllabus problems generally aren't tested, right?"

Li Yang tried to appear indifferent.

Jiang Banxia said, "It's unlikely such problems appear in the college entrance exams, but the method of solving this one is complex. I'll document the thought process to help you understand how to tackle tough problems."

Previously, for the problems Jiang Banxia glanced at, she could solve them instantly, unable to provide Li Yang with a start-to-finish route.

True teaching is really about teaching how to think.

"Master Jiang, I haven't even bought a ticket yet, and you're getting me on board already?"

Now that's the ace in the hole, requiring time and effort.

"Master Li is too kind, let's progress together... Oh no, here comes the homeroom teacher..."

Then Jiang Banxia's icon went gray.

After about half an hour, Jiang Banxia's icon lit up again.

She sent Li Yang a message: "I was scared to death; during class, the homeroom teacher suddenly appeared and took Wu Tianqi's phone, calling him to the office for half a period."

"What happened?"

"Probably lending the phone to me; I'm now sitting in your seat, without a deskmate, the teacher gets news slower... and so... Wu Tianqi took the blame..."

"Haha, that guy getting scolded is totally deserved."

"Master Li, he ultimately suffered for us, and you take delight in it?"

"You don't know what Wu Tianqi did! After school yesterday, he even used your name to chat with me."

"What? He actually did such a thing!"

"Yes, fortunately, I figured it out early and gave him a thorough trick."

"How did you realize?"

"Easy, by that time you would've gone home with your family. How could you have his phone... So I tricked him, saying our secret code was 'Dad.' You know what he did to deceive me? He actually called me 'Dad'..."

...

"Master Jiang..."

"I'm here, haha, he really is so dumb; how could he not see through it?"
