Chapter 15 - Chapter 14: Avian Uprising

Noon.

Today is Saturday, and this is the time when South Sea Zoo has the most visitors.

The zoo is often a great place for couples to date, for parent-child activities, and for artists to sketch.

In the Bird Forest District, a child suddenly looked at the sky with terror in their eyes:

"Wow, so many birds!"

The mother lovingly patted the child's head:

"There are more birds in nature than here. If you score 100 next time, I'll take you to the forest park."

After the child's mother finished speaking, a strange wind noise came from the sky, and then the sky darkened.

She looked puzzled at the sky, and her eyes turned horrified.

In the sky, a vast flock of birds was flying in from afar, so numerous that they blotted out the sun like dark clouds.

Strangely enough, it wasn't a flock of just one type of bird.

Pigeons, sparrows, magpies, and even a few large eagles!

The migratory-like flock hovered above the zoo, letting out piercing cries from their beaks.

"Where did so many birds come from?"

A boy cautiously pulled his girlfriend along to watch the commotion with the crowd.

"What are these birds trying to do?!"

The uncle selling balloons in the scenic area was so frightened that he let go of the balloons, and they floated into the sky.

The birds in the sky gathered over the Bird Forest District, and with a sharp cry from a crow among them, the flock swooped down towards the Bird Forest District like a river.

They frantically pecked at the Bird Forest District's protective net.

As a few large eagles used their talons to tear through a weak spot in the wire mesh, the birds in the Bird Forest District broke out of their cages.

"Are they attacking the zoo? Freeing their kind?"

"No way? Is this the rise of the bird ball?"

The onlookers immediately realized what the birds were doing, and everyone wore expressions of disbelief.

In the sky, the countless birds seemed to have a new target, charging towards the zoo's restaurant.

"Ah!!!"

Intense screams erupted from the supermarket, and a waitress ran out of the restaurant in panic.

"Damn, where did all these birds come from!"

"There are eagles!"

"They're attacking people!"

More and more waiters and customers fled from the restaurant as if for their lives.

The sounds of things breaking in the restaurant were continuous.

The restaurant quickly fell, and the birds were eating inside!

The zoo's largest restaurant became a birdhouse!

"Damn it!"

A boy, scratched by a bird, wanted to hit them.

The girl beside him quickly stopped him:

"Don't hit them. Aren't you afraid of retaliation from so many birds?"

Everyone fell silent.

These birds seemed organized, and no one knew what might happen if they harmed one.

Have birds become intelligent now?

The world was becoming more unrecognizable to them.

"Call the police! Dial for the Fire Officer!"

The restaurant owner pointed at the employees and glared.

His phone was left in the restaurant.

....

The alarms from security and fire trucks sounded throughout the zoo.

Even TV reporters arrived, broadcasting live.

The Bird Forest District was cordoned off, and outside the lines were large groups of onlookers.

Inside the cordon, various birds stared intently at the sheriffs and fire officers.

The sheriff leader gasped:

"This is unbelievable. Where did so many birds come from?

There must be ten thousand of them, right?

Are all the city's birds here?"

An old man outside the isolation line kept tiptoeing to look inside, and he spoke:

"I saw these flocks when I was doing Tai Chi in the park outside the zoo this morning.

I thought it was strange and bought a ticket to watch the excitement.

You guys missed it earlier when these birds tore down the Bird Forest District's protective net."

The sheriff leader felt a headache coming on.

Are these things here to rescue their companions?

This is too far-fetched!

"These birds can break a protective net? I can't believe it!" the sheriff leader muttered.

The fire captain walked over:

"Nothing is impossible.

Among these birds are large birds of prey, and if they are lucky enough to find a weak spot in the protective net, they might collaborate to tear it open.

Remember, some birds of prey can even crack a human skull."

The sheriff leader was stunned.

Could this lead to a bloody incident?

Under the fire captain's command, several firefighters brought over the hoses connected to the fire truck.

"Open the valve!"

As the water hoses swept through, the birds let out panicked cries.

The flock scattered.

Some birds of prey tried to take flight to retaliate but were immediately targeted.

Under the impact of the hoses, some birds of prey suffered heavy blows, some even having their wings broken.

The flock began to flee, gathering into a dark mass in the sky, then dispersing and quickly disappearing above the zoo.

Fire officers secured the most aggressive large birds of prey with safety locks, holding their claws and tossing them into the fire truck.

A massive bird uprising ended like this under the spray of the fire officers' hoses.

On a branch that people couldn't see, a crow tilted its head, quietly watching the scene.

Its eyes gradually filled with grief.

The crow opened its mouth, and the surrounding air vibrated in a strange way.

It seemed to be trying something, continuously opening its mouth:

"I, I, I... ."

It learned to speak, its voice peculiar yet not unpleasant.

The crow opened its mouth again:

"My Great Black Empire, my loyal subjects, has fallen just like this!"

It learned violence and bloodlust from Suzu.

It learned to gather followers from Li Yang.

Hence today's farce.

Suddenly, the crow looked sharply down the tree.

Under the tree, a man wearing a black trench coat, with a well-proportioned figure, was staring at it.

The crow's pupils widened, and it fluttered its wings, diving into the man's trench coat pocket.

Li Yang looked closely at the crow.

This crow was speaking just now?!

He looked back at the Bird Forest District, still cordoned off.

He had underestimated this fellow indeed.

The crow didn't use the demon's talent, yet it had created such a commotion?

That stupid dog did nothing but eat and sleep, where was the demonic appearance?

Sometimes Li Yang would forget that the dog was a Three-headed Hellhound.

Perhaps it was more the crow's strong learning ability.

It was always observing, always thinking, always learning.

He originally planned to send Suzu to assign tasks to Su Yutang in a few days, but maybe the crow was more suitable.

Li Yang tapped the crow's head:

"Cause trouble again next time, and I'll pluck all your feathers."

The crow shrank its head, a look of fear in its eyes.

Li Yang's tone was gentle, but the crow could feel the threat in his words.

.......

South Sea, North District Security Office.

Director Liu Ziqian sat there, a few more white hairs falling out.

"The large feline attack incident in Xinghua Alley hasn't been clarified, and now there's a bird flock attack?

Is this the end of my peaceful retirement?"
