Chapter 102 - Superheroes Gather, Tony's Nature

At the same time, Peter Parker, who had promised to see Mary Jane's opera, abandoned his small motorcycle and a bouquet of flowers, transforming once again into Spider-Man—the bouquet of flowers he had bought with all the money in his pockets.

"Disaster?"

Susan, who was about to go home, hesitated for a moment, then gritted her teeth and changed into her uniform before heading to the dock area; after all, she still wanted to be a Super Hero, which was a completely different feeling from being a female CEO.

In the Brooklyn dock area, Tony Stark, wearing his new Mark Armor, was hiding behind a container, making gestures towards the sky.

"Tony, what are you doing? You look so sneaky?"

Dr. Banner, the big green guy, asked. He was wearing an oversized combat suit and looked a bit comical—he wasn't fierce at all, with a good-natured expression.

"What do you mean sneaky?"

Tony said irritably, "I've waited for months, and finally, I have a chance to redeem myself. I'm going to kill that bastard Magneto here with a laser, and oh, Mystique too."

Dr. Banner was stunned: "Laser?"

"That's right, the laser won't be controlled by Magneto, and it's incredibly fast. As long as I catch him off guard, I can definitely kill Magneto."

Tony said excitedly, "I want the whole world to know that I, Tony Stark, am not the same person I once was, and I always get my revenge."

"If Magneto is unprepared, the success rate is indeed quite high."

Dr. Banner thought for a moment and nodded. Tony said, "Of course. By the way, Dr. Banner, do you feel confident in defeating Abomination now?"

Dr. Banner chuckled, "Of course… not."

Tony retorted, "If not, why are you saying it so loudly?"

"Although I'm not confident in defeating Abomination, I can act as a meat shield, and you guys can defeat him."

Dr. Banner said with great self-awareness. Although he had been training during this time, as a frail scholar with no athletic Ability, no amount of training could turn him into a master.

Tony said, "Once I kill Magneto, I'll go help you. From now on, everyone will call me Assassin King Tony."

Old Green Goblin Norman heard Tony and Dr. Banner's conversation and looked displeased. He even felt like tipping off Magneto, but after thinking it over, he didn't.

It wasn't that Norman had a change of heart, but rather that he didn't have Magneto's phone number, making it difficult to tip him off.

"Stock price, how can Osborn Group's stock price possibly go up?"

Norman looked troubled. If the stock price didn't rise, his position would be unstable, and if his position was unstable, he wouldn't be able to invest company funds into the research of Human Enhancement Serum.

Norman still hadn't given up on the Human Enhancement Serum because his son, Harry, needed it, and he didn't want his son to become a madman like Bronski.

"Superheroes are gradually increasing," Professor Charles, sitting in his wheelchair, sighed.

Wolverine, with a cigar in his mouth, said, "There aren't many reliable ones. They're either narcissists or comedic characters."

The X-Men laughed. Professor Charles shook his head. He vaguely felt that times were changing, but he wondered if there would be a place for Mutant in the future.

Besides these individuals, the Fantastic Three and Barton also arrived. Human Torch, in his uniform, curiously asked Barton, "Barton, what new Ability do you have?"

"Archery is my Ability," Barton replied coolly.

Human Torch was about to ask something else when Professor Charles issued a warning: "Magneto is here."

Everyone immediately looked up and saw the deck of the Isolated Island Prison flying rapidly towards them. Standing at the very front was Magneto, who instantly spotted the Superheroes and Agents on the dock and dismissively raised both hands.

"These are your things; I'm giving them back to you."

With a wave of Magneto's hand, dozens of missiles, plus a super bomb for self-destruction, simultaneously shot towards the dock area.

Everyone's expressions changed drastically. Coulson hastily shouted, "Intercept the missiles with non-metallic means! The rest of you, take cover!"

"I'll do it!"

Human Torch roared, pushing his hands forward, and two massive fireballs blasted towards the incoming missiles.

Cyclops said nothing, placing his hand next to his visor, and a crimson laser swept through the missiles in the sky.

Storm's eyes turned white as she flew into the sky, bolts of lightning descending from above. Jean used her telekinesis to make the missiles collide with each other. Magneto couldn't help but glance at her; when did her telekinesis become so strong? Could it even counter his magnetism?

Magneto's eyes narrowed slightly: "Could her hidden power have awakened?"

"Damn it!"

Tony cursed, flying out to use his laser to attack the missiles. Although he was far enough away not to be hit by the missiles, others would be, and he couldn't just watch his people die.

Tony couldn't be the Assassin King because he wasn't ruthless enough. A true assassin wouldn't care about the lives of his own people; he would only wait like a dead object for the best assassination opportunity.

Although Tony was a slacker, narcissistic, arrogant, conceited, boastful, sharp-tongued, unserious, proud, and competitive… there was no doubt that he was a true Super Hero, and he would become increasingly responsible.

With everyone's efforts, the missiles continuously exploded in the air with thunderous roars. Shockwaves swept through, flames flew wildly, and the entire dock area trembled.

Having successfully dealt with the missiles, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Just then, more than a dozen missiles emerged from the sea, successively blasting towards the people in the dock area. Everyone's expressions changed, but it was already too late to stop them.

At a crucial moment, a translucent psychic barrier appeared. A large number of missiles crashed into the barrier and exploded with a boom. The barrier rippled but remained incredibly solid, without breaking.

Immediately after, the barrier disappeared, and Professor Charles slowly moved his wheelchair forward. It was clear that he had been the one to act.

Magneto controlled the prison deck to stop in front of the dock area. Then, he asked Professor Charles, "Is this your new Ability?"

Professor Charles nodded: "Yes, a psychic barrier, protecting everything."

"Even the Ability to evolve is for protection, Charles, you truly are…"

Magneto couldn't help but shake his head. He said, "Unfortunately, what Mutant need isn't protection, it's offense. Never mind, let's not talk about that. Charles, I want to see if you can stop me today."

"Old friend, you're not wearing your helmet today."

Professor Charles smiled slightly, and a powerful psychic force penetrated the collective consciousness, entering Magneto's mind.

With the Cerebro, Professor Charles couldn't specifically target someone within the collective consciousness, but face-to-face, it was no problem.

However, due to the collective consciousness acting as a barrier, Professor Charles could only interfere with Magneto, not completely control him.

"I absolutely cannot let Charles know our plan."

Magneto's expression changed, and he immediately fought against Professor Charles's intrusion with Scanner.

Professor Charles keenly sensed something. He said, "Erik, you are hiding a big secret."
