Sandy's POV
The instant Charles launched himself at Zayden, I scrambled backward until my spine hit the corner wall.
Last time taught me better than to position myself between two raging supernatural beings. Getting caught in their crossfire once was enough stupidity for a lifetime.
Their supernatural speed made tracking their movements impossible. All I could see were violent blurs colliding with bone-crushing force.
The symphony of their battle echoed through the chamber. Flesh struck flesh with sickening thuds while growls mixed with Zayden's cold, taunting laughter.
They crashed from one side of the room to the other, bouncing off walls like deadly pinballs. The chaos was driving me insane.
When they slammed into the wall with earth-shaking impact, the wooden door splintered under the pressure. The sharp crack made me wince.
