Chapter 67 - He... Was Going To Be A Father?

Ignoring Ian's eye roll, Village Chief Martin looked at Kuma with the concerned air of an elder worrying over a junior.

"Oh, divine doctor! You must take good care of him. We can cover the medical expenses, no matter how much. This couple has been married for almost a year."

"But they still don't have a child. Take a look, is there anything wrong?"

"Village chief, there's no need for that. Whatever the illness, if it's something I can treat, only 500 Belly will do."

Looking at the worried village chief, Kuma smiled and said, "I'll make sure to examine him carefully. Though to be honest, my medical skills aren't that great, so I can't say for sure if I can help, but let me have a look first."

"Quick, quick, divine doctor, please!"

"Excuse me, can I examine you?"

At Village Chief Martin's urging, Kuma looked at Ian with another innocent smile and said, "Don't worry, I'm just doing a quick check."

Ian: "..."

What else could he say? He nodded and agreed.

Especially when Kuma asked if he could examine him, the curious villagers around him fell silent and looked at him nervously.

With so many stares, not only Ian, but even Kuma, known as the divine doctor, felt a little nervous.

Honestly, at that moment... Ian felt like he'd been transported right back into a rural village drama.

A married man being dragged by elders to see a doctor because he hasn't had a child yet?

For crying out loud, he had only been married for one year!

With Ian's permission, Kuma began examining Ian.

With so many eyes on him, his expression became even more serious, and he checked more carefully and thoroughly.

But as soon as he began, Kuma seemed to notice something different. His brows furrowed, and a faint trace of surprise flashed through his eyes. He didn't say anything, though, and continued examining.

However, this sudden change in expression made Village Chief Martin and the surrounding villagers nervous.

Why is the divine doctor frowning?

What's with that expression?

Before, it was just a simple examination, a simple clap of hands, and it's healed.

Why is it so troublesome now?

Is Ian's condition serious?

It must be said that these villagers were quite concerned about Ian.

Seeing the divine doctor's serious expression, they all looked at Ian with worry.

Only after Kuma finished his examination did the already impatient Village Chief Martin anxiously ask: "Divine doctor, how is it? You must heal this child! No matter how much it costs, you must heal him!"

"Don't be nervous."

Seeing the anxious Village Chief Martin, even Kuma felt a little helpless.

But with so many people watching, he smiled and nodded, saying calmly: "There's nothing wrong with this gentleman, it's just..."

Before Kuma could finish his words, Village Chief Martin, hearing the pause, suddenly raised his voice. "Just? Just what? Could it be that all these years of training have damaged his body? Oh, I told him to get enough rest!"

"Oh, what should we do?"

"We have to heal it, whatever it is!"

"Hurry, let's hear what the miracle doctor says, how can it be treated?"

The surrounding villagers all shouted anxiously.

"No, no, it's fine. Please, quiet down and let me finish."

Kuma sighed helplessly, but even from this, he could sense the villagers' respect for this gentleman.

Seeing the villagers staring at him in silence, Kuma didn't hold back any longer and said directly, "Please don't worry, this gentleman is in excellent health."

He added a hint of a smile: "It's just that his internal temperature seems a bit high. But it hasn't affected his health."

Truth be told, this was the first time he'd ever seen someone with such an unusually strong temperature. It wasn't the kind that burned; it was more like the warmth of the sun.

"So, there's nothing that needs treatment."

At those words, everyone sighed in relief, even Ian himself.

For a moment there, he had actually started to wonder if something was wrong with him.

However…

"No issues? Truly none?"

Hearing Kuma's words, Village Chief Martin, who had just breathed a sigh of relief, frowned again and looked anxiously at Kuma. "Then, divine doctor, why haven't these two had a child yet? Could it be because of that excessive temperature you mentioned?"

"That has nothing to do with it, village chief."

Faced with Martin's renewed inquiry, Kuma remained calm and smiled, without getting impatient. "As for a kid..."

He pondered for a moment, glancing at Ian, then at the lady, who seemed nervous at his glance.

Kuma was momentarily startled, frowning again as he carefully examined the lady, who nervously clutched her husband's hand.

Then, just as everyone noticed something was amiss and watched with bated breath,

Kuma's serious face flickered into a smile. He adjusted his glasses and said gently, "Isn't this lady pregnant?"

As soon as he finished speaking, all the villagers: "..."

All the villagers, who had been holding their breath, were stunned. Even Ian, holding Robin's hand, froze in place. After hearing Kuma's words, he involuntarily tightened his grip on Robin's hand.

He... Was going to be a father?

"There's really not much to buy here. The goods other merchant ships bring are more than those of this one. So, why do the villagers love browsing this one so much?"

"Hahaha, that's true. There really isn't much to buy on this merchant ship."

Hearing Binz's words, Zephyr grinned and laughed heartily, his tone carrying a trace of nostalgia. "But before the brewery and the dock were built, this island was only visited by this merchant ship; it was the villagers' main way of getting supplies from the outside world. Even though this ship means little to the Sibia River Archipelago now, to these villagers, it's probably become a habit."

"Really? Well, I'm done shopping anyway. I thought with so many villagers here, there'd be something interesting to see!"

Binz sighed helplessly: "I didn't expect it to be just ordinary stuff, and they're so expensive. What a waste of time! I'd rather focus on training!"

While complaining, he glanced at Ain, who seemed to be looking at something nearby, and said casually: "Am I right, Ain?"

However, in response to Binz's question, Ain, who had come to her senses, didn't even turn her head, but simply said: "Yes."

Then she continued looking ahead, frowning as if pondering something, and asked in a puzzled tone: "Why are there so many people up ahead?"

"Huh? Where? There really are so many people."
