Chapter 3 - The Warriors Song

1 week laterPOV Yuji

"The week has passed in the blink of an eye," I thought, standing in front of the check-in area for the aeroplane that would take me to South Korea. I was alone, as Celine had left right after our agreement was finalised, preparing everything for my stay. Apparently, I would be living in their penthouse. "If I am supposed to protect them, then I should be with them all the time". That was the conclusion I made to convince everyone — including myself — but my soul had a different opinion. It didn't matter. I pushed it away, locking it inside with all the pain and emotions I had.

Boarding the private plane rented by Celine, she had said, "This is the bare minimum for a person such as yourself." I am not as great as they think I am, but if it makes them feel better, I will at least try — so their efforts do not go in vain.

I looked back to take in my last view of home for the foreseeable future. After all the battles and even the war, I survived — everyone gained, everyone lost, and everything changed after that."Goodbye. Be safe." I barely managed to mutter that out. No one heard me, but I believe my expression said everything, at least if it were without scars.

When I sat down, I decided to look through the files Celine had sent me — everything I needed to know about the girls — so our meeting wouldn't be too awkward.

First of all, their leader — the main vocalist and the most dangerous fighter on the field of demon hunting — is Rumi Kang. "Standard information, appearance, height, weight… but the fact that she was taken personally by Celine and trained into the perfect idol and demon slayer is quite interesting. I consider her almost like Celine's daughter. However, if she was with Celine the whole time, she probably started training from an early age as well." My thoughts concluded that I could ask her anything else personally; I had the basics down. Trained from a very young age, she achieved the highest proficiency and understanding of both idol and demon hunter life — a natural leader. The file stated that she was quite the workaholic, very goal-driven.

Secondly, the main choreographer of the group. If Rumi was the most dangerous in terms of technique and control, this one was the strongest physically. A black sheep of her rich family who became a K-pop idol, cutting off all ties with her past — quite unusual for such a culture. Honestly, I couldn't exactly imagine what she would be like in person, so this one would have to wait.

Last but not least, the lead lyricist and rapper, Zoey, whose real name is Ji-young Yoo. She was raised in Burbank, California. People called her "Cutest Maknae." Maknae means the youngest group member. She was about the same age as me. Fans described her as lovely and energetic, the most optimistic and pleasant. "It feels similar to one blindfolded, white-haired sorcerer — excluding the ego and the ability to destroy a whole city alone. We'll get along quite well."

(A/N: I'm ageing Yuji for the story. As for the girls, I'm setting their ages from my perspective — Zoey is 20, Rumi is 21, and Mira is 22. Not perfect, I know, but I prefer it this way; 16-year-old Yuji would feel strange.)

Leaving the plane, I saw Celine standing with some airport staff, discussing something. I didn't speak Korean, so for a while, communication would be an issue. Celine turned to me with a warm smile and didn't say a word until I was right in front of her. I towered over her by at least ten to fifteen centimetres. My appearance had changed significantly after my time in the Jujutsu world — especially my height and muscle mass.

(A/N: Yuji's appearance here)

Celine: Good evening, Yuji! It's nice to see you in Korea. How was your flight?

Yuji: Good evening, Celine! It was productive. I read some information about the girls and listened to some of their more popular songs. I have to say, even though I'm not a K-pop fan, the music was very relaxing and pleasant.

Celine: Ohhh, it's wonderful to see that the girls' work is to your liking! I'm sure they'll be glad to hear that in person. They value their fans and their music deeply. Speaking of them, as I mentioned last time, the girls have their final concert soon. I'll take you backstage to meet their manager, Bobby. Then, after the girls are done, you'll meet them as well. Bobby doesn't know about the supernatural side of our world — he's purely their manager — but he's the best they could ask for. You can trust him. I told him you'll be their bodyguard, though VIP in your own way. The girls know more, obviously, but not everything. You can share whatever information you feel is necessary.

Yuji: I understand. Thank you.

Celine: My pleasure.

After that, we didn't say anything else and just went to the car, where the driver was already waiting inside. Celine told him to take us to the concert while I sat down, closed my eyes, and relaxed — maybe for the first time in months — as Huntrix played softly in the background.

A few hours later

We finally arrived at the stadium. There were still thirty minutes before the start of the show, yet the crowd already numbered over ten thousand, and it kept growing. I saw some of them even giving interviews about the girls — all so energetic, lively, and happy. The girls might be demon hunters with Honmoon powers, but looking at their fans, I could tell the music didn't rely on any brainwashing. It was purely a resonance between souls — proof of how genuine they were as idols.

Even though we tried to be discreet, some people still noticed Celine and me. Whispers started going around, especially about my unusual appearance. Celine had warned me that wearing my traditional Jujutsu uniform would draw attention, but to me, this uniform meant everything. In the end, we ignored everyone and went straight backstage.

I looked around — everyone was busy. Assistants rushing about, technicians checking equipment, stylists chasing the girls — and at the centre of it all stood one man: Bobby, Huntrix's manager. He was a short South Korean man, maybe in his late twenties, but the dedication and fire in his eyes were genuine. People often said Bobby looked like the girls' older brother or even a father — someone who worked tirelessly to make sure his girls would be the brightest stars.

Celine decided to add a bit more chaos and introduce us.

Celine: Good evening, Bobby! Can I take ten minutes of your time?

Bobby turned around, eyes widening as my large frame and scarred face came into view.

Yuji: Good evening, Mr Bobby. I'm Yuji Itadori. Celine probably mentioned me, the new bodyguard for the girls.

Bobby: Yeah, I can see that, Mr Itadori! Bobby's fine, no need for such formalities. We'll be like family now. If Celine vouches for your abilities, then I believe in you. Just make sure nothing happens to them.

Yuji: Then Yuji is fine as well, Bobby. Don't worry — I wouldn't be here if I couldn't protect them.

There's a high chance I'm the only one in the world who can keep them safe… but that would sound too arrogant.

Celine: Bobby, I've seen his abilities in person. He's the best there is, so you don't need to worry.

After a few more jokes and questions, Bobby went to finish preparations, and we stayed near the stage entrance to watch the performance. The staff seemed panicked that the girls weren't there yet. Bobby tried calling them, and though fans snatched his phone to say hi, he managed to get through. I looked at Celine, silently asking what was going on, but she only told me to keep watching.

A few minutes later, the music started — and I saw them.

The girls were flying through the sky. But they weren't alone. Strange humanoid creatures surrounded them — their skin colored unnaturally, with tusks, claws, and the markings Celine had mentioned.

Yuji: Those are the demons you told me about, aren't they?

Celine: Yes. As you can see, they're humanoid, but demons can hide their demonic sides, making them appear human. The only giveaway is the markings on their bodies. That's why they usually wear clothes to hide most of them from demon hunters. You can ask the girls more later. For now, just enjoy the concert.

Yuji: Thank you. I will.

As the song continued, I couldn't help myself — for the first time in a long while, I let my guard down. The song reached the deepest, most scarred parts of my soul. But its touch was warm — hopeful, vibrant — spreading through my body like sunlight after endless rain. I finally understood. The positivity and hope in their music could ignite even broken souls. And I was here to make sure they could keep lighting that fire in others.

Celine: As expected, you seem to enjoy the concert.

Yuji: I sure do. The girls are amazing. I can feel their music resonating with the soul — unity, hope… it even gave me something warm to feel, after a very long time.

Celine: I'm glad. The girls are heading home now. Let's go to their apartment — they'll be waiting for us.

Yuji: Sure. Lead the way.

POV Rumi

I saw gold! For the first time in years, our goal was close — the finish line appeared at the end of this long race. Zoey and Mira were right next to me as we entered the lift, unable to contain our excitement.

Rumi: Girls, did you see that? The Honmoon had gold in it for a second!

Zoey: I sure did! Oh my god, we're so close to sealing all demons!

Mira: Yeah, we just have to make one last run, and we can finally take a break from all this.

At the word "break," I imagined — just for a second — a day when I could stop hiding everything from them. I hated keeping them in the dark, but I had to, especially now that we were so close.

Rumi:Cough, cough. What was that?

Mira: Rumi, are you alright?

Zoey: I hope you're okay!

Rumi: Don't worry, I just need some water and—

I couldn't finish my sentence before the elevator doors opened, and Bobby stepped in with our assistants, all holding bottles of water.

Bobby: Did someone say water? Come on, give the girls something to drink! You were amazing out there — what a way to end a world tour. Your stats are through the roof!

Bobby went on his usual streak of praise while we were covered in robes and refreshed after the concert. Still, all we could think about was getting home. Somehow, Bobby seemed to read our minds.

Bobby: So, girls — I was planning to send you to the best resort in South Korea for two weeks, but we have a change of plans. I met Celine earlier today — she was showing your new bodyguard around.

Rumi: Oh no, I completely forgot about that! She did mention it, right?

Zoey: Yeah, I think so. But we were so busy with the tour that we just forgot.

Mira: It doesn't matter. Where are you going with this, Bobby?

Bobby: Celine told me to inform you that they'll be waiting for you at your apartment. So don't waste any time — go quickly.

Rumi: Alright. If Celine's there, we don't want her getting grumpy. Let's go, girls!

Mira / Zoey: Fine! / Let's go!

And just like that, we got into our car. On the way, we talked about different things — but the main topic was the same: Who is this bodyguard Celine told us about? The one who's supposed to protect us from things that make even demon kings like Gwi-Ma tremble in fear.
