Chapter 26 - Singer of the sea

Seeing that it was really effective, Luo Yan no longer had any qualms and began to sing loudly.

His singing was sometimes high-pitched, sometimes soothing, and the sound waves continuously rippled, hitting the walls of the wooden house like tides crashing against the shore, but they were all bounced back.

The entire promotion process lasted for nearly five minutes, and Luo Yan sang two whole popular songs.

Boom!

A lightning bolt fell from the clear sky, striking the wooden house, which immediately split into pieces. Luo Yan walked out of the ruins, exuding an aura like ocean waves, and his whole person seemed to have become somewhat more dignified.

His eyes reflected the lightning, and the next moment, a huge lightning bolt struck the previously calm sea surface.

Rumble!

By the time the lightning disappeared, the thunder only then reached Luo Yan's ears. At this moment, he firmly believed that he had successfully advanced, becoming a Sequence 5 Ocean Singer, and now possessed the power of lightning. Only now could he truly be considered to have "destructive power."

"This is the power of an Ocean Singer!"

Luo Yan repeatedly clenched and unclenched his palms, feeling his power, and at the same time receiving the knowledge that came with the potion.

As Luo Yan knew, an Ocean Singer possesses the power of lightning, capable of releasing lightning attacks, and can also influence those around them with their singing. Pleasant and soothing songs can calm those nearby, while pleasant and rousing songs can invigorate them, providing a certain degree of power amplification. Unpleasant songs, on the other hand, can make those nearby confused and distorted, and in severe cases, even cause them to lose control.

Furthermore, an Ocean Singer can now stay in the sea for extended periods, capable of drawing oxygen from seawater. In a sense, they are already considered marine creatures.

"Captain, Captain!"

Before Luo Yan could finish examining himself, Xia Tali's slightly urgent yet excited voice rang out. He looked over and saw that the exploration trio had returned, and Mite was holding an orange devil fruit shaped like a banana.

"Captain! Look what we found?"

Seeing that Luo Yan only looked over and didn't respond, Xia Tali excitedly pointed at the devil fruit and shouted.

Luo Yan didn't need Xia Tali's guidance; his gaze had already locked onto the devil fruit because a very strong Throbbing arose in his heart. It was an attraction, a craving, a seemingly instinctive desire to possess it.

Undoubtedly, this devil fruit represented a natural disaster devil fruit, belonging to the type that could be used to concoct high-sequence potions for his pathway. However, he didn't recognize what kind of fruit it was, only able to roughly judge from its appearance that it was a Zoan-type fruit.

"devil fruit?"

Luo Yan asked knowingly, and Xia Tali nodded heavily.

"Mm! Little Gold took us to a cave, and this fruit was in a crevice in the cave wall."

"Little Gold?"

Luo Yan asked subconsciously, and Xia Tali nodded again, pointing to the monkey squatting on her left shoulder.

"It's this kid."

"Well done, this devil fruit is very valuable."

Luo Yan forced himself to appear less eager for the devil fruit, calmly taking the fruit from Mite's hand. Although Mite and Luo Yan were on the same pathway, because Mite was only Sequence 8, the Law of Beyonder Characteristics Convergence was not as obvious on him, and he didn't feel any strong desire for this fruit.

"We've been delayed on this island for so many days; it's time to set sail. Let's go."

"That's great, we can finally leave this damned island."

Hearing that they could set sail, Luo Ta immediately exclaimed. Luo Yan looked at Luo Ta with some surprise, not speaking, waiting for him to explain the reason.

"Captain, you don't know, these past few days I've always been ambushed by the animals on this island. They either throw stones at me or attack me directly. Even birds flying by would poop on my head. I really can't stand it anymore."

"Is it possible that you only have such encounters because you are a Provoker?"

Luo Yan responded to Luo Ta in a cold tone, and Luo Ta's face immediately fell.

"Captain, I can't help it. The animals on the island are scared and run away when they see us. I can only use my ability to make myself disliked so that those animals won't run away when they see us."

"Alright, alright, we're setting sail."

Luo Yan interrupted Luo Ta's complaints and announced their departure. The four returned to the ship, and by this time, the ship's deck was covered with a large pile of cured meat. The Qiguang Bird Potter was standing on a piece of meat, pecking at it with his beak, occasionally tearing off a long strip along the grain.

These were all animals killed by the exploration trio these past few days. Because too many were killed and couldn't be eaten on the same day, and Luo Yan didn't want to waste them, he cured them with salt and then placed them on the deck to be air-dried by the sea breeze. The effect was excellent; at least, the first pieces of meat hung up had not yet gone bad.

"Quick, quick, clean up and weigh anchor! Put the completely dried meat into the kitchen and the undried meat onto the aft deck. Potter! You eat the most, so you have to help clean up too!"

As soon as she got on the ship, Xia Tali began to give orders. Except for Mite, who had to steer, everyone had to work, and that naturally included Luo Yan.

This time, the ship did not deviate from its course and sailed straight towards Alabasta... "Captain, Captain! We can already see Alabasta!"

On this day, Luo Yan was singing on the aft deck. Xia Tali and Luo Ta were very supportive, while only Mite, after securing the rudder, had taken over Luo Yan's lounge chair on the foredeck. Potter, who was responsible for lookout, descended from the mast, his voice piercing through Luo Yan's singing.

Luo Yan stopped and looked up at the circling Potter.

"Are you sure it's Alabasta? Can you see the Going Merry?"

"No, I'm not sure if that's the Alabasta you mentioned, but ahead is a very, very large island, or perhaps it's not an island at all. It's all desert, so it should be the Alabasta you spoke of."

Potter did not give a definite answer, but it made Luo Yan confident that they had arrived at Alabasta.

"Very good, go tell Mite to approach, but not to land on the island."

"okay, captain!"

Potter flew to the foredeck, while Xia Tali looked at Luo Yan with some confusion.

"Captain, aren't we going to land? Although there's still a lot of cured meat, the fresh vegetables and fruits were eaten long ago. It would be better to replenish some, wouldn't it?"

"No, if you want to go up, you go; I'm not going anyway."

Luo Yan rejected Xia Tali's suggestion without thinking. He couldn't help but refuse; Beyonders of his pathway simply couldn't go into the desert; they couldn't even stay for a single day.

"But..."

Xia Tali opened her mouth to speak but didn't finish her sentence.

Potter arrived at the foredeck and saw Luo Ta already asleep in the lounge chair, and he didn't know what sweet dream he was having, with a happy smile on his face.
