Chapter 36 - Attraction

He rushed behind the woman in a few steps, raising a giant hammer three times larger than her head, and smashed it down fiercely towards her head, as if to crush her into a pulp.

The woman subconsciously turned her head, but had already lost the chance to dodge. But just then, a burly man with thick body hair, holding a large axe, sprang out from her shadow.

The sudden turn of events left the three-meter man no time to react. The burly man chopped his arm with an axe, severing it directly.

The hand gripping the hammer, along with the hammer itself, continued to fall due to inertia, but was then kicked away by the burly man.

The three-meter man was both shocked and enraged, taking half a step back to adjust his body, but the burly man gave him no chance. As a cold gleam flashed across the three-meter man's neck, his head was sent flying into the sky by spurting blood.

"Charge!"

The muscular man holding the bowl raised it high. The previously swaying living corpses suddenly became agile, charging into the pushed-open metal gate, followed by the Resistance Army.

The fortress was quickly breached, and the sounds of battle spread to the palace.

Dragon watched all of this quietly, without a hint of joy on his face; instead, he was extremely solemn, his eyes even clouded with a layer of gloom.

"Beyonder, magical items... Luo Yan, whose side will you ultimately stand on?"

Dragon came here specifically to bring Beyonders to participate in real combat. The three people who had just broken through the fortress were Beyonders who had consumed the potion. They carried magical items and so easily breached the fortress that the Resistance Army had failed to take for a long time, which was enough to prove the power of the potion.

However, this was precisely what worried Dragon. He had already witnessed the potential of this suddenly emerging system. Yet, so far, Luo Yan had not taken a clear stance. Although he had expressed goodwill to the Revolutionary Army, and although Luo Yan's words before had somewhat moved him, it was still not enough. Luo Yan was still an existence to be wary of, unless one day Luo Yan did something that would threaten the World Government...

Unbeknownst to them, Luo Yan's ship had been at sea for a month. Since Mite used an astrology orb daily to divine the route, they hadn't encountered any enemies or landed on any islands during this month, instead heading straight for their target, Sabaody Archipelago.

After all, Whitebeard's Pirate Crew was currently entrenched in the New World, and to go to the New World, they needed to go to Sabaody Archipelago to coat the ship.

On this day, Luo Yan, tired from singing, lay on a lounge chair, with a bottle of medicated wine beside him. A while ago, he could still drink juice, but after a month of drifting, the fruit had long been consumed, and he could only drink the light wine used as drinking water.

Of course, the drinking water on the ship was not just wine; there was also a good amount of fresh water, but most of that fresh water had been taken by Xia Tali to water her plants, and a portion of the remainder was needed for cooking, so there wasn't much left for drinking.

Fortunately, when it rained, Luo Yan could very easily collect rainwater with his ability. Basically, one rain would fill the ship's fresh water reserves, so he wasn't worried about running out of fresh water.

Boom!

Just as Luo Yan was enjoying the sun and debating whether to sing more or go for a swim, with a loud bang, the ship suddenly shook violently.

A dangerous aura spread from the sea, and Luo Yan immediately felt all the hairs on his body stand on end, his danger premonition wildly alarming him.

Luo Yan abruptly stood up, raised his hand, and the trident, which had been in the corner, was swept up by a gust of wind and landed in his hand. The others only then hurried to gather around.

"Captain! Our ship has been attacked! From underwater!"

Mite reported the situation immediately. Luo Yan nodded, his expression extremely solemn.

"He's a very dangerous fellow, be extremely careful. Little Xia, if things go wrong, you take your pet and fly away. Leave the rest to me. Our ship might not make it."

"Yes, I understand."

Xia Tali dared not say more. Dark energy emanated from her, condensing into a pair of black bat wings behind her, ready to take flight at any moment.

Luo Yan's expression at this moment was solemn, yet tinged with hesitation and struggle. He wasn't carrying any magical items on him right now; they were all in his room. Facing the imminent powerful enemy, bringing enough magical items was undoubtedly the best choice, but he was worried that as soon as he entered the cabin, the powerful enemy hidden in the sea would attack and directly destroy the ship. Whereas if he stayed, he might still be able to prevent it.

Fortunately, the opponent did not make Luo Yan hesitate for long. In less than five seconds, the sea surface suddenly swelled into a huge water mound, and a large amount of seawater rushed down from above, pushing the ship backward.

The swollen water mound quickly disappeared, replaced by a giant Sea King.

This Sea King had a bird-like head, a red mane around its neck, a sea snake's body, and three-fingered claws on its abdomen. Overall, it looked nothing like a natural creature, more like something forcibly pieced together, but Luo Yan knew that such Sea Kings did exist.

This Sea King was enormous. Its head and neck alone, plus a small portion of its body above the water, exceeded ten meters in height, and there was still a massive shadow beneath the surface of the sea. Its total length probably exceeded a hundred meters.

Shriek!

This Sea King tilted its head back and let out a high-pitched shriek like a bird, then abruptly lowered its head to look at Luo Yan's ship, or rather, at Luo Yan on the ship. Its sharp, eagle-like eyes were bloodshot and red, and everyone could clearly feel the hostility within them.

Xia Tali was somewhat frightened by the sharp gaze and couldn't help but take a small step back.

"How can this be? Shouldn't such Sea Kings live in the Calm Belt? Why is it here?"

Luo Yan looked up directly at the Sea King, a smile gradually spreading across his lips. He could feel a stirring and attraction, as if from his soul, a convergence of Beyonders.

"I know why. This guy is coming for me. I'll lure it away. You all take the chance to sail away."

"But Captain..."

Xia Tali subconsciously wanted to dissuade him, but her words caught in her throat halfway through, because at present, this seemed to be the only best option, otherwise, they would probably just wait for the ship to be destroyed and everyone to perish.

"Potter, you assist me!"

Luo Yan shouted without turning his head. Potter, who had grown noticeably larger since first boarding the ship, trembled all over. His black-bean-like eyes held an undisguised fear, but he still obeyed the command, flapping his wings to fly and land on Luo Yan's shoulder.

Luo Yan immediately shot into the sky, flying towards the side of the ship. The Sea King's gaze had been locked on Luo Yan, and seeing this, it immediately followed, swimming along and clearing a path for the ship.
