Chapter 45 - Whitebeard

Luo Yan had been sitting there all morning, practically molding, so upon hearing that, he immediately stood up.

"My lads, we're setting sail!"

"Alright! Set sail!"

This time, Xia Tali was the one to echo, dropping her comb and raising a clenched fist, showing great enthusiasm.

Mite and Luo Ta were a step slower in reacting, but still chimed in.

Luo Yan's ship, enveloped in a giant bubble, sank into the sea and followed the underwater currents towards Mermaid Island. However, he didn't intend to go to Mermaid Island; instead, he decided to bypass it and head directly to the New World.

When Luo Yan's ship resurfaced, it was already the next morning. Whether it was the lingering morning mist or the nature of this sea area, everything was shrouded in a thick fog. Visibility on the deck was less than three meters, let alone being able to discern the direction.

If it were an ordinary ship, encountering such conditions without a Log Pose would likely mean trouble. But Luo Yan's ship had an astrology orb, which was originally used for discerning direction. On the high seas, with an astrology orb, one would never get lost. Moreover, Luo Yan also had the Whitebeard Pirates' ship doctor's Vivre Card.

Luo Yan had given the Vivre Card to Mite when the ship submerged. At this point, he didn't need to say anything; Mite had already adjusted the ship's course, heading straight towards the Whitebeard Pirates' location, and this journey lasted four days.

"Captain! I see the Whitebeard Pirate Crew's flag!"

The lookout Potter's shout woke Luo Yan from his nap. Luo Yan, lying in his lounge chair, opened his eyes, blew his nose hard, looking as if he hadn't fully woken up. He couldn't be blamed; to quickly digest the Ocean Singer's potion, he had been holding concerts on the ship every day for the past few days.

To accommodate Xia Tali's schedule, he usually started singing in the evening and didn't stop until late at night. This meant insufficient sleep at night, so he could only catch up by taking a nap in the afternoon.

"Alright, go tell Mite that we can stop soon. I'll go wake Xia Tali."

It was still noon, and Luo Yan knew Xia Tali hadn't woken up yet, but he had to wake her. After all, he was counting on Xia Tali to treat Whitebeard.

Half an hour later, Luo Yan and Xia Tali stood on a small dugout canoe, approaching the Whitebeard Pirates. For this house call, Xia Tali even prepared a medical kit to hang at her waist, looking quite professional. Luo Yan, on the other hand, only brought Ace's letter.

Propelled by the current, the small boat quickly approached within three hundred meters of the Whitebeard Pirates. This caught the attention of the Whitebeard Pirates, and a small dinghy was lowered from one of their ships. A middle-aged man with fiery red hair rowed the dinghy over.

He wasn't afraid that the other party came with malicious intent, because behind him was the emperor who ruled the seas, the Whitebeard Pirates. Even if the other party were the Marines, he wasn't worried about being killed.

"Who are you? Is there something you need?"

Although the Whitebeard Pirates were pirates, they were not cruel or bloodthirsty; instead, they had a strong sense of family. Among pirates, they were definitely a very benevolent presence, so they didn't show any malice towards the unfamiliar visitors, speaking in a quite friendly tone.

"I'd like to see Whitebeard. This is Fire Fist Ace's letter."

Luo Yan spread his hand, and a gust of wind immediately blew the letter to the person in front of him. The person didn't dare to neglect and immediately caught it.

"You… please wait here. I'll deliver the letter to Pops right away."

The person's attitude became much more respectful, after all, the other party was holding a letter from the Commander of the Second Division.

Seeing the person tuck the letter into his pocket and prepare to row back, Luo Yan chuckled softly and snapped his fingers.

"No need for such trouble, I'll send you back."

Before his words finished, the water under the person's dinghy changed, and the dinghy immediately returned along the same path at an extremely fast speed. But as it got closer, it immediately slowed down, avoiding a direct collision with the large ship.

"Commander, that guy seems to be able to control the sea currents!"

A Whitebeard Pirate Crew member with a telescope saw the entire process and reported urgently. Standing behind him was a burly man with well-defined muscles, Diamond Jozu.

"Controlling sea currents? What kind of ability is that? But it doesn't seem to be malicious."

Jozu's expression became a bit solemn. As a great pirate who had sailed the seas for many years, he understood better than most people how much of an advantage controlling sea currents on the open sea truly held.

Luo Yan watched the person who had come to make contact board the large ship before retracting his gaze, then couldn't help but let out another laugh.

"Hey! Diamond Jozu, if his Devil Fruit awakened, wouldn't he get rich overnight? But diamonds aren't that valuable in this world, gold is better."

Luo Yan mumbled softly, appearing quite relaxed. Xia Tali, on the other hand, seemed a bit nervous. Although she didn't think there would be any problems with this encounter, she also knew that she was about to face one of the Four Emperors who ruled the seas, the man known as the strongest.

"Captain, you don't seem nervous at all?"

"There's nothing to be nervous about. As long as we don't make the first move, even if things fall apart, Whitebeard won't do anything to us. Maybe that guy even wants me to be his son."

Luo Yan said in a joking tone. Xia Tali immediately showed an expression of disbelief, which eased her tension quite a bit, making her unsure if Luo Yan was actually joking.

Whitebeard's side didn't make Luo Yan wait too long. After less than five minutes, the person who had made contact earlier approached again in the small boat.

"Pops invites you over. I'll lead the way for you."

This time he didn't get too close, shouting from a distance. Luo Yan immediately controlled the sea currents to follow him.

The two small boats passed through several escort ships and arrived at the Whitebeard Pirates' flagship, the Moby Dick, which was Whitebeard's ship.

A rope ladder had already been lowered, but Luo Yan chose not to climb it. Instead, he controlled a strong wind to lift himself and the guide, and Xia Tali immediately spread her wings.

The three landed almost simultaneously. It was the guide's first time being blown by the wind, and he felt a bit weak in the legs upon landing, almost losing his balance, but Luo Yan helped steady him.

Xia Tali didn't immediately retract her wings; instead, she first scanned the surroundings before folding them.

"Gurararara! What an arrogant brat."

Whitebeard's voice was the first to sound. Perhaps having received Ace's letter, there was a subtle, almost imperceptible joy in his tone.

Luo Yan then looked towards the massive and burly Whitebeard in front, finally seeing the man known as the strongest.

He sat in a giant lounge chair, with a stand next to him holding an IV drip, which was currently administering fluid to Whitebeard.

"Nice to meet you, my name is Luo Yan."
