Chapter 38 - Train

Gin sneered. "Watching without doing anything is one of your specialties together with Vermouth, isn't it? I want you to make sure Vermouth dealt with Sherry."

Amamiya Yuki was silent for a moment.

This is different from the comic where Gin trusted Vermouth and didn't make any move at all. Instead, he was waiting at the station.

But this time, he sent her to go.

Considering her position that was part of the action group but was not exactly under Gin as she had more 'freedom'...

"Give me the ticket, then, but don't expect me to do anything." Amamiya Yuki stood up and looked out of the window.

If she had to participate as Sake…

Then I'm sorry, little detective.

"It'll be sent over to you."

Gin hung up the phone.

Amamiya Yuki looked at her phone in silence. She would not kill anyone, but she had to act.

*sigh*

On the express train day.

Amamiya Yuki yawned as she looked at the train in front of her. Her ticket was far away from the others. After all, her goal was just to watch over the game.

She only brought a small bag behind her and her sniper rifle was safely put inside her space. There was no way she would let others know that she carried a weapon.

It's really tiring.

Amamiya Yuki soon found Mouri Ran and the others.

"Yuki San, you're also here?" Mouri Ran looked surprised when she saw Amamiya Yuki coming over.

"Mhm." Amamiya Yuki nodded while yawning again. "My superior said that as long as I finished the tasks well, I'll be given a reward. It turns out that the reward is this train's ticket… but I worked overtime and now I just want to sleep."

"If you're so sleepy like that, you might miss the deduction game," Mouri Ran said worriedly.

"It's fine. I'll just ask you for the result later." Amamiya Yuki grinned and looked at the detective groups. "Or you kids can also tell me later~."

"Yes!"

The children looked excited and Haibara Ai was also looking at Amamiya Yuki, her expression was calm without any fear.

Conan looked at Haibara Ai's expression and looked at Amamiya Yuki.

He wondered what charm this woman had to make Haibara Ai not try to stay away from the other party.

"I'll be going now~."

Amamiya Yuki waved her hand and left as her seat was far away from them.

After a few more steps, she yawned again.

"It's rare to see Amamiya San look so sleepy. She must have worked hard last night," Suzuki Sonoko commented.

"Indeed. Her work might not be that easy." Mouri Ran looked helpless.

"Let's go inside."

"Yess!"

As Amamiya Yuki walked forward, she glanced in one direction and her eyebrows arched slightly.

She opened her mouth but no words came out. Only the shape is saying, 'Vermouth.'

The camera had shown this scene and the viewers were bustling.

[Ah, ah, ah, will Amamiya Yuki participate in the game?]

[If she did, will she be part of the red team or black team?]

[It must be black. Otherwise Vermouth is too pitiful]

[Pfft. Vermouth is the only black character here hahaha]

[Then again, it feels they're always releasing water when facing Conan]

[Otherwise, how could an elementary school student possibly deal with the Black Organization?]

Amamiya Yuki smiled slightly but the scene interruption was only a short two seconds before it came back to Conan.

In the crowd, Vermouth looked in Amamiya Yuki's direction with a faint frown.

She understood.

Amamiya Yuki was basically telling her that she's here under Gin's order since she knew that Vermouth is here. But since she basically revealed that, it also meant that she wouldn't do anything.

What a cunning woman.

"Ah, in the end you're still not reassured, huh?" Vermouth clicked her tongue.

But this arrangement was for the best.

While Amamiya Yuki liked to snatch sniping targets, she hates intelligence related missions, especially one where she had to go in person. A strange woman who cared more for money and likes sniping.

But she's not that bad.

At least, Vermouth knew that Sake would not interrupt her.

And Amamiya Yuki did that.

She basically went to catch up on some sleep.

Her annoying boss made her work overtime last night and she barely had enough sleep.

Not the Winery boss.

Her real boss. QAQ

The commander can be quite unforgiving at times. Thankfully she managed to finish it in time and then rested in a hotel.

Come to think of it, she hadn't written her mission report…

Amamiya Yuki: "..."

She now felt that Hanada Hitomi's decision to be an ordinary person is definitely the best among them.

Because this meant that she didn't have to worry so much about various things.

Brrt.

Her phone vibrated and Amamiya Yuki opened her eyes. She walked out and looked at the crime scene as a bystander, glancing at the staff nearby and asked questions about the location of the restroom.

She practically made sure she passed by Professor Agasa while yawning and following the staff to the restroom.

The children commented that Amamiya Yuki is really sleepy.

"She must be really tired."

"Yes, yes."

"Maybe we can pay her a visit later?"

Amamiya Yuki went to the restroom and switched her jacket backwards. The outer layer was previously blue in colour but it was now black. She wore the hoodie that she previously tucked inside and took out a black mask. She also wore gloves. Her long hair was tied back, hidden within the hoodie and at this moment, she looked more like a suspicious man rather than Amamiya Yuki.

She counted the time and then walked out again. The staff had left and she went to her own room, locked the door, and then took out the prepared rope to tie it around her waist. She opened the window and then climbed up to the roof.

'There won't be any tunnels again, so I'll have plenty of time.'

A sniper rifle appeared in her hand.

It has been assembled beforehand and all she needs to do is to use it.

Amamiya Yuki sat down and held the sniper rifle in her embrace with her left arm and legs used as the support. This is the sniper cradle position.

The "sniper cradle" is a highly stable, unconventional seated or kneeling shooting position that uses the shooter's bent arm and leg for maximum bone support, minimizing muscle tension and natural body movement. It is often used when a shooter needs a higher angle than the prone position but still requires significant stability for long-range accuracy.

Considering her current location and the fact that the train is moving at high speed, this is basically the best position for sniping.

After all, there was no stable footing on the train roof.

Her hands and legs are more stable.

Amamiya Yuki waited patiently, her position remained stable as she looked at the distance. The sniper rifle was pointed at the tail end of the train.

Bang!

Suddenly, an explosion sounded and the train was separated.

Amamiya Yuki counted the speed in her brain and saw Kaito Kid flying out. It seemed to be the same as the comic.

The corner of her lips curled up.

Bang!
