"Digimon?!" the kids cried out in unison.
"That's right—there really is a Digimon in there. And it's an extremely evil Digimon that's reviving. Even from here, I can feel that thick, oppressive darkness." A voice came from behind them.
The kids turned around and saw a Digimon walking over. Its whole body was wrapped in a wide purple robe, with only its eyes showing. A white hood covered its head, and in its right hand it held a thick, ancient-looking book.
"Y-you are…" Gatomon ran up in front of it, widening her bright, watery eyes.
"It's been a long time, Gatomon."
"You're… Wizardmon!" Gatomon's words stunned all the kids. Ever since the Dark Masters were defeated, they hadn't seen Wizardmon again.
"Yeah. I've Digivolved into Wisemon now."
Wisemon—a Digimon shrouded in mystery. Through "books," it can appear across all sorts of times and spaces. It manifests through the book it inhabits, shifting forms and emerging wherever the book connects to different points in space-time, so it's said its true body exists in another dimension. Among researchers, some privately claim it belongs to the same faction as the demonic jester Digimon, Piedmon. The "Space-Time Stones" it holds in both hands can record and replay space, and within space-time, all phenomena and forms of the Digital World are preserved. Its special technique is Pandora Dialogue, which stores an enemy's attack within space-time and then replays it continuously at extreme speed, and Nirvana, which seals the enemy forever inside a Space-Time Stone.
"Wizardmon—no, Wisemon—where did you go? I kept looking for you, but I could never find you!" Gatomon asked happily.
"I returned to my original world. While traveling through the Digital World, I found the chance to go further, so I went back to Witchelny and trained hard," Wisemon replied, just as happy to see an old friend again.
"Witchelny?" Izzy asked, curiosity instantly igniting.
"Witchelny is a Digital World in another dimension. The Digimon there all wield magic, and most of them train with the goal of becoming great sorcerers. That world is composed of four elements—fire, earth, water, and wind. Digimon who live there can use at least one element, often more. I originally came from there to this Digital World to test myself," Wisemon explained.
"Alright—now isn't the time for that. Later you have to tell me more about Witchelny," Izzy said, forcing himself to rein in his curiosity.
"It really has been a long time, Wisemon," Mimi said as she stepped forward to greet him, giving him a quick once-over. "You've gotten more handsome than before."
"H-hey, Mimi," Wisemon replied. His face was covered so no one could see his expression, but his tone turned oddly bashful.
"I'm back…" The shadow, struck again and again by lightning, grew more and more solid.
"It's coming out," Wisemon said gravely, staring at the TV station surrounded by lightning.
A massive black shadow seeped out from the station and planted itself on the ground. "I want revenge."
"Tai!" Agumon and the others rushed in from the Digital World.
"Agumon, you're here," Tai greeted them.
"This voice… it feels familiar," Gatomon murmured, listening closely to the repeated words.
"What's wrong, Gatomon?" Kari asked, confused.
"Gatomon… I want revenge…" The shadow lowered its huge body, staring down at the kids.
"This voice… you're Myotismon." Gatomon's eyes sharpened, claws flashing out.
"Myotismon?!" Gatomon's words made everyone freeze. Aside from Davis and the other two, the rest knew exactly how terrifying Myotismon was.
"That can't be… Myotismon was destroyed by Omnimon. How could he appear again?" Sora blurted out.
"It's definitely him. I'd recognize that voice anywhere," Gatomon said through clenched teeth.
"Hah… hah… I want revenge!" The shadow threw its head back and roared. Lightning immediately rained down toward it—thunder cracking nonstop as all the lightning was absorbed into the shadow. At the same time, a black vortex opened beneath it, feeding it dark energy. As it absorbed both lightning and darkness, a black eye-guard formed first over its head.
"Hahahaha! I want revenge!" Its body continued to reveal itself—two pairs of dark-red bat wings tore free first. Then a massive frame emerged, studded with bright white bone spikes. Its hands were ten razor-sharp bone claws, stripped of any flesh.
"I want revenge!" NeoMyotismon roared again.
"Does it seriously not know how to say anything else?" Davis muttered.
"It's only a puppet," Wisemon said with a calm exhale as he watched the Digimon that could do nothing but repeat that phrase. "Even if we ignore it, once its energy runs out, it'll collapse on its own."
"What? But the TV station's right in front of it! This building is brand-new!" Matt's dad protested, stepping out anxiously.
"A puppet? What do you mean?" Izzy asked.
"It's a Digimon that was forcibly boosted into a Mega. Its core DigiCore has already collapsed. What it's doing now is simply following pre-programmed behavior," Wisemon explained, looking at NeoMyotismon. "Once its energy is depleted, it will fall apart on its own."
"But there are still a lot of people here! And no matter what, that's still a Mega!" Cody said urgently, looking at the panicked crowd fleeing from the enormous Digimon. "If we just let it rampage, this place will be destroyed!"
"Calm down, Cody. Nobody said we're not doing anything—we're discussing a plan," Joe urged.
"Agumon, get ready. Let's go." Tai raised his Digivice at NeoMyotismon.
"Got it, Tai!" Agumon stepped forward, preparing to Digivolve.
"Agumon… Warp Digivolve to… WarGreymon!"
"Terra Force!" WarGreymon launched into the air and fired first, blasting NeoMyotismon back as it was about to smash through the TV station building blocking its path.
NeoMyotismon is known as the "Moonlight NeoMyotismon," the ruler of VampireLand, and a general of the Big Death-Stars Moonlight Army. Its purpose is to erase all opposing forces without leaving a trace, so it sends undead Digimon troops to infiltrate different regions and quietly eliminate Digimon one by one. It often lives hidden in darkness for so long that it forgets what emotion even is—killing becomes just another part of life, neither loved nor hated. Only when it watches Digimon die under the moonlight does it feel any real fulfillment.
NeoMyotismon can summon an endless number of familiars called Nightmare Leeches, drawn to the life energy of Digimon. It sends them out in a swarm with Nightmare Raid, leaving its victims in a miserable state. Its extendable arms can capture enemies with Blue Obliteration—after extracting every bit of information, it tears them apart with its claws. It can also gather dark energy into the moon on its chest and fire it at full power with Doom Cannon. Everything around its target becomes pure darkness, and at the end there's a single flash of light—but that light isn't hope. It's the light of the end.
"Nightmare Raid!" Space rippled behind NeoMyotismon as a black vortex formed. Countless Nightmare Leeches poured out, shrieking as they swarmed toward WarGreymon.
"Great Tornado!" WarGreymon crossed his arms and spun at high speed. A flaming tornado shredded the Nightmare Leeches that reached him—yet the black vortex kept spewing them out nonstop. Some Nightmare Leeches, unable to get past WarGreymon, veered toward the kids instead.
Watching those wide-mouthed creatures chattering madly as they rushed closer, Matt's dad staggered back a few steps—then forced himself forward again, shielding Matt and T.K. behind him.
"We're up, Davis!" Veemon stepped in front of Davis.
"Armor Digivolve!"
"Veemon, Armor Digivolve to… Raidramon—the Sturdy Bond of Friendship!"
"Hawkmon, Armor Digivolve to… Shurimon—the Gushing Purity!"
"Armadillomon, Armor Digivolve to… Digmon—the Iron Wisdom!"
"Patamon, Armor Digivolve to… Pegasusmon—the Soaring Hope!"
"Gatomon, Armor Digivolve to… Darcmon—the Radiant Smile!"
"Blue Thunder!"
"Momiji Oroshi!"
"Gold Rush!"
"Needle Rain!"
"Dancing Sword!"
The Digimon unleashed their special moves, wiping out the Nightmare Leeches charging at them—but the dark vortex was still continuously spitting out more.
"Blue Obliteration!" NeoMyotismon's four claws stretched out, grabbing for the kids' Digimon.
"Dramon Killers!" WarGreymon slashed at NeoMyotismon's arms with the razor claws on his hands. Two arms were severed as easily as chopping vegetables—but the two left-side arms still caught Digmon and Raidramon, who couldn't dodge in time.
"Digmon!"
"Raidramon!" Davis and Cody cried out, panic in their voices.
"Nirvana." Wisemon finally acted. His book snapped open, and two beams of light shot out at NeoMyotismon's arms—those two arms vanished instantly.
Digmon and Raidramon dropped from the air, landing hard and staring up warily at NeoMyotismon, which was still locked in a fierce clash with WarGreymon.
