Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Don't Question the Abundance!

It took Felicity a long time to comprehend her current situation.

In short, she didn't recognize these two individuals before her, and they didn't seem to have proper access permissions—they were clearly trespassers!

Having freeloaded off Herta for so long, Felicity decided to personally handle this nuisance for her.

"Hey, fool over there, don't bore me."

Silver Wolf's tone remained casual, as she sensed no threat from Felicity at all.

Raising her right arm, a cyberpunk-style device materialized out of thin air. At its tip, a sphere of light rapidly condensed before firing an energy beam with a "biu~" sound.

Whoa, it sounded just like a video game sound effect.

Felicity blinked and lightly retreated a few steps, seemingly narrowly dodging the scorching beam.

But Silver Wolf's expression instantly shifted from curiosity to wariness. She was certain her blast couldn't have been dodged by mere coincidence—as a top-tier hacker, she had that much confidence.

"This might be trickier than expected."

Silver Wolf murmured to herself, though her tone betrayed nothing but excitement, like a master gamer encountering a slightly challenging level.

Thump—

Before Silver Wolf could make another move, Felicity quietly snapped her fingers. On either side of the girl, two thick vines abruptly sprouted from nowhere.

"Be it sin or blessing, I impose my will."

Felicity whispered unhurriedly, raising her right hand and pointing a finger toward Silver Wolf.

The two vines instantly surged forth, thrusting toward Silver Wolf in an attempt to restrain her.

"Tch..."

Silver Wolf clicked her tongue, flipping away to evade one vine while blasting the other with a searing beam.

To Felicity's surprise, the struck vine wasn't merely incapacitated by fatal damage—had that been the case, her Abundance blessings could have restored it instantly with a blink.

Though the effect wasn't permanent, Felicity could feel the vine gradually recovering, yet she couldn't accelerate the process.

—If that beam hit me instead, could it kill me?

Felicity's eyes lit up. She raised her hand again, pointing toward Silver Wolf through the air.

This time, numerous vines burst violently from the ground around Felicity!

"Where are these vines even rooted? This setting makes no sense!"

Silver Wolf's pupils dilated sharply as she twisted to dodge while complaining indignantly.

"Don't question the Abundance!"

Felicity retorted mercilessly, summoning more vines to assault Silver Wolf.

Silver Wolf held her breath and focused. As a top-tier hacker, her combat skills were equally formidable—unless facing an Emanator-level opponent, she rarely found herself at a disadvantage.

—To beat the summons, beat the summoner first.

In an instant, she locked her target onto Felicity. While it wasn't impossible to destroy all the vines, doing so would clearly be less efficient than directly attacking Felicity herself.

Silver Wolf surmised that controlling this number of vines was likely Felicity's limit. With her mental energy fully focused on manipulating the vines, her physical body would struggle to react and evade—this was the inherent weakness of summoner-type players.

All she needed to do was perfectly dodge the vines assaults while finding an opening to strike Felicity.

Having settled on her plan, Silver Wolf took off once more, her movements as fluid as a fish gliding through water, effortlessly evading the frenzied attacks of over a dozen vines.

With a light tap of her toes, Silver Wolf closed the distance to Felicity in the blink of an eye. Raising her right hand, the large hand cannon materialized once again.

"Got you!"

A faint smirk tugged at Silver Wolf's lips, as if she could already envision her victory.

However—

"Pity."

Felicity's finger twitched upward slightly.

In the next moment, a vine burst forth from the ground right beneath Silver Wolf.

Though part of her wanted to take the hit head-on, dying so easily didn't seem like a good idea.

"Crap!"

Silver Wolf's expression shifted for a split second—and truly, only a split second—before she playfully stuck her tongue out at Felicity.

"Bleh~ Bosses always pull cheap moves during phase transitions. Did you really think I'd come unprepared?"

While her right hand continued charging the hand cannon, her left hand swiftly tapped on a holographic screen that had appeared out of nowhere.

"Data modified. Coordinates locked."

"Checkmate."

Boom—

A searing beam of light pierced straight through Felicity's body.

"Mission accomplished."

Watching the surrounding vines collapse one by one, Silver Wolf snapped her fingers, placed a hand on her hip, and turned to head back to Kafka's side.

"Silver Wolf, your work isn't over yet~"

Kafka seemed to have just finished speaking with the gray-haired girl lying on the ground. She lifted her head, her gaze settling on Felicity's direction, her smile as gentle as ever.

"Huh? What are you talking about? My attack clearly—"

Silver Wolf wore a puzzled expression as she instinctively glanced back, her words cutting off abruptly.

"Abundance Resonance: Impermanence of All Phenomena."

Felicity, who had nearly stumbled and fallen, was steadied by a vine supporting her back. A vibrant green energy radiated from her body as she reopened her eyes, her gem-like emerald pupils gleaming with light.

"...This power is far beyond what an ordinary person could wield."

Kafka fell silent for a moment before murmuring softly.

"We don't have much time, Kafka. According to the script, the Astral Express crew will be here soon. We shouldn't run into them."

Silver Wolf frowned, urging her on impatiently.

"I know, Silver Wolf. But the enemy before us won't be so easily dealt with."

Kafka's eyes narrowed slightly. Even someone as composed as her now showed a trace of solemnity, though her tone remained soft. "Isn't that right, Emanator of Abundance?"

"Emanator of Abundance? Elio's script never mentioned we'd encounter an Emissary of Abundance, did it?"

Silver Wolf's eyes widened slightly in astonishment. Elio's script was never wrong. Even if unforeseen situations arose, they were always deemed "insignificant" in the grand scheme of things.

However, when it comes to the strength of an Emanator, no matter how you look at it, it can't be considered a trivial matter, right?

"Don't worry, Elio's script doesn't say we'll fall here."

Kafka's expression quickly returned to calm, indicating that she had finished speaking with the gray-haired girl over there and could now focus on handling Felicity's situation.

Her gaze fell upon Felicity once more, and she slowly raised her hand toward her, as if wanting to embrace the Abundance Emanator.

Her red lips parted slightly, her voice still soft and gentle, yet carrying an irresistible allure:

"Listen to me. Stop."
