Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: The Metal Briefcase! Assault Wolf Awakens! Unbreakable Breakthrough!

The night burned red with fire. Explosions shook the street as the battle raged on. Breaker's eyes blazed when he saw Wren hurled backward by the blast, smoke rising where she'd stood just moments before.

"Wren!" he shouted, fury flashing across his synthetic features. The circuits along his jawline pulsed crimson.

Without hesitation, he clenched his fists and charged toward the Winter Soldier who was walking calmly through the wreckage.

Bucky Barnes turned his cold, mechanical gaze toward him. His metal arm gleamed under the streetlights as he raised it—just in time to block Breaker's strike.

Clang!

The collision sent a shower of sparks flying. Both fighters slid backward from the impact, but Bucky didn't move an inch. His expression didn't even flicker.

With frightening speed, he pivoted on his heel and launched a whip kick straight into Breaker's chest.

Boom!

The blow sent Breaker staggering several steps back, his boots carving deep marks into the pavement.

"What… how is that possible?" Breaker muttered, stunned.

His combat software contained dozens of martial arts algorithms, every movement calculated at lightning speed. Yet the man before him—this hybrid of steel and flesh—was faster, smoother, unpredictable.

He didn't have time to analyze. Bucky was already on him again.

Their fists collided in a blur of metal. Sparks flashed in rhythmic bursts as the two combatants exchanged strikes faster than the human eye could follow. But within seconds, Breaker began to fall behind.

Every punch from Bucky carried the weight of a sledgehammer. His movements were brutally efficient—designed not for sport, but for killing.

A brutal uppercut struck Breaker's gut. The reinforced plating cracked. Error messages flooded his vision.

"Warning: core systems destabilizing!"

Breaker stumbled, clutching his abdomen. His sensors glitched; the world turned to static for a moment.

The Winter Soldier didn't stop. With merciless precision, he kicked again—sending Breaker flying across the ground for dozens of meters.

He crashed through debris, sparks and shattered glass exploding around him. The artificial skin on his face tore open, revealing the metallic structure beneath. Lightning danced over the exposed circuits, painting his half-machine face like a fallen terminator.

Static filled his vision. But through the distortion, he saw the battlefield clearly — Ames soldiers and Modia Units being cut down, their glowing cores extinguished one after another.

In the distance, Wren lay on the ground, smoke rising from the twisted metal near her. Above her, a helicopter circled, its machine gun swiveling down for the final strike.

And walking calmly through the fire — Bucky Barnes — approached Henry's car.

"No…" Breaker growled, his voice glitching through the comms. "I won't let this happen."

His cybernetic eye flared red. System warnings flashed violently across his HUD. But something strange began to happen — his combat algorithms started rewriting themselves.

The boundaries of his programming blurred, merging, evolving… converging.

A singularity.

"System override," his AI whispered. "Adaptive limit exceeded. Evolution triggered."

A surge of light exploded from his chest, lighting up the entire street.

---

Inside the car, Henry watched, a faint grin on his face.

"Well, would you look at that…" he murmured. "Breaker has just achieved a technological singularity during battle."

Izzy, beside him, blinked in disbelief. "He's evolving in real-time? That's—"

Henry's grin widened. "Perfect. Izzy, give him the prototype."

"Understood, Mr. President."

Izzy reached into a compartment beside her seat and pulled out a metal briefcase glowing with faint blue light. She deactivated the vehicle's defense field and stepped out into the chaos.

Instantly, the heads of every enemy soldier turned toward her. Most of the Modia Units were already destroyed; only wreckage and sparks remained. The HYDRA troops recognized her immediately — and her value.

"Target identified — Vanderbuilt assistant!" one of them shouted. "Capture her alive!"

But Izzy was already moving. Calm, graceful, unshaken. She opened the briefcase, revealing a sleek device — the new generation Upgrade Key, its surface polished to a mirror finish. Blue light pulsed through its engraved wolf emblem, and a silver grip extended from one end.

She tossed it toward Breaker, who was kneeling amid the wreckage. "Breaker! Catch!"

He snatched it midair, staring at it through the flickering haze. "This… is the Assault Wolf Upgrade Key," he murmured, recognizing the symbol. The design resembled his previous Boxing King Key, but refined — more advanced, more primal.

He realized instantly what it meant. Vanderbuilt Technologies had used his old combat data, merged it with new adaptive systems, and forged this — a key born from his own experience.

---

The soldiers in the helicopter also realized what was about to happen.

"Abort transformation! Take him down now!" the HYDRA commander yelled.

The gunner spun the targeting scope, locking onto Breaker. The missile system beeped once, then fired.

Whoosh!

A blazing Sidewinder missile tore through the night sky.

But before it could reach the ground, Izzy acted.

She lifted the metal briefcase again — and it shifted, transforming before their eyes.

Click-clack! Metal panels rotated and folded, reconfiguring in seconds into a large plasma cannon. The briefcase's front opened into a circular emitter, glowing with deadly energy.

Izzy pulled the trigger.

BOOM!

A surge of light erupted. The recoil was so massive that her boots sank several inches into the asphalt. The ground cracked beneath her as the plasma bolt ripped through the sky and obliterated the helicopter midair.

The explosion bloomed like a blue firework, scattering debris and flames over the city.

Henry leaned back in his seat, smiling faintly. "Beautiful work."

The other helicopter jerked aside, trying to evade the shockwave. In that brief opening, Breaker stood up.

His damaged circuits sparked wildly, but his eyes glowed crimson. He pressed the Assault Wolf Key into his transformation module.

"System… online."

A burst of energy engulfed him.

Armor expanded across his body, sleek and angular, glowing with blue light like liquid lightning. Wolf-like claws extended from his hands as the visor formed over his face — shaped like a snarling beast.

"Assault Wolf… Activate."

The words echoed through the comm network like thunder.

The transformation completed — and Breaker howled. The sound wasn't human or mechanical; it was something in between, a cry of rebirth.

He leapt forward at blinding speed, leaving a streak of light behind him.

The remaining Winter Soldiers turned, but they were too slow.

Boom!

Crash!

Smash!

In one furious charge, Breaker struck them down — his new claws slicing through armor, his movements flowing like a storm of blades. Every impact was followed by a flash of light and an explosion of sparks.

Bucky barely raised his arm in time to block the next hit. The two collided with such force that the shockwave blew debris into the air. For the first time, the Winter Soldier staggered backward.

Breaker's red eyes narrowed. "Round two."

He rushed forward again, his strikes too fast to track. Bucky countered, fists clashing like thunder. The two titans fought in the middle of the burning street, one powered by human rage, the other by mechanical evolution.

Henry stepped out of the car now, hands in his pockets, watching with calm satisfaction. "Now that's more like it."

Izzy joined him, smoke still rising from her weapon. "Sir, should we call in reinforcements?"

Henry shook his head. "No need. This battle belongs to them now."

Above them, flaming wreckage from the destroyed helicopter drifted down like falling stars.

And in the center of it all, Breaker stood tall — armor cracked, light flickering, but unbroken. His evolution had made him something beyond machine, beyond soldier — an unyielding symbol of the future.
