Chapter 35 - The Decision
The day moved faster than Odalia had wanted and before she knew it, the party was only an hour away.
"Back door," Rosabel said as she smothered her white shirt and adjusted her tag. "Remember, Madam Fion doesn't like to wait so don't be late." Then she offered Arik a smile and she headed to the door.
"Will the Grand General be there?"
Rosabel stopped in her tracks. "Why—-"
"I'm trying to avoid him. After being in his wing…" Idalia allowed her voice to trail off, and Rosabel turned and waited for her to complete her sentence. That made Idalia continue, "After barely escaping from the risk of death I accidentally placed myself and my child in, I would just like to be careful." Then she added, "He scares me."
Rosabel nodded. "He scares everyone," she said that more to herself than to Idalia. To Idalia, she said, "The Grand General does not attend such parties."
