Chapter 42 - On The Other Side
Idalia gritted her teeth, more tears spilling down her cheeks.
She could hear a distant echo, as if someone was speaking to her, but it was too far away; she couldn't make out the words.
Was that Nestri? Had she finally taken pity on her and decided to help?
But then, Kalio's hand went around her and gave her a taste of what relief felt like.
The chill spread through her veins and it became harder to return to pain after that. Even though she wanted to fight, everything was against her.
"Please," he pressed the words to the pores of her skin and she pushed her head back against him instinctively in a search for freedom from this agony.
It was all he needed.
He pressed a kiss to her neck, and Idalia recoiled when she felt a jab of something sharp into her skin. A scream pierced through her throat. She felt like she was being yanked away from herself.
