Chapter 83 - Chapter 081: Ghost and Aliens in the Old Building

---------------

ALL UNCENSORED NSFW Illustrations I make, will be only available in my Discord server for the paid members.

Also, let me clarify, not all chapters will have illustrations, and the number of illustrations won't be too many in the early phases. Making illustrations using AI is quite costly as I don't want to use the free ones if possible because of quality reasons. So the more members I have, the more I will be capable of making these nsfw illustrations, as I can will some leftover cash from my expenditure to spend on making those illustrations.

The Sainan High School cafeteria was a battlefield of scents and sounds. The aroma of curry, yakisoba, and fresh bread fought for dominance, while the roar of hundreds of teenagers talking over each other created a constant, low-frequency hum.

At a table tucked into a corner, one that had become the unofficial headquarters for the "Yuuki Harem", the conversation had taken a turn for the macabre.

"It's not just a rumour anymore, Rito." Momioka Risa said, leaning across the table. Her eyes sparkled with that specific brand of mischief she reserved for teasing her friends. She wore her uniform with a rebellious looseness, her collar unbuttoned just enough to hint at the curves beneath. "The Old School Building is definitely occupied. The basketball team says they saw a pale face in the third-floor window last night. And the music room? People have heard a piano playing Chopin at midnight. A piano that hasn't been tuned in twenty years."

Sawada Mio adjusted her glasses, the lenses reflecting the overhead lights. "Normally, this kind of situation suggests a squatter, but the descriptions in this case are consistent. A young woman with long hair, weeping. Legends say she died waiting for a letter from her fiancé during the war. Now, she supposedly drags any handsome boy she finds into the 'other side', so she won't be lonely anymore."

Sairenji Haruna sat frozen, her chopsticks hovering inches from her mouth. Her face had gone a ghostly shade of white that rivalled the legend itself. Her recent kidnapping by an alien didn't make the situation any better but rather showed her how weak she was against the supernatural. "A-A young woman...? Dragging people away...?"

"Don't forget the part where she rips their souls out through their mouths." Risa added, grinning wickedly.

"Risa! Don't say such things!" Haruna squeaked. She instinctively leaned to her left, her shoulder pressing firmly against Rito's. The physical contact seemed to be the only thing keeping her grounded.

Rito felt the warmth of her body through his blazer. He could feel her trembling, not just a little, but a deep, rhythmic shudder. His spoiler knowledge told him there was no ghost… well there was one, but not in the traditional sense, still, his protective instincts were screaming at him to comfort her.

"Ghosts don't exist, Haruna." Rito said, his voice dropping into a gentle, steady tone. He reached under the table, finding her hand and squeezing it. Her fingers were ice cold. "And even if they did, they'd have to get through me first."

Haruna's breath hitched and she looked at him, her eyes wide and shimmering with a mixture of terror and sudden, intense affection. "Rito-kun..."

"Ooh! Then how about a test of courage!" Lala shouted, nearly knocking over her tray as she bounced in her seat. Her tail was wagging so fast it was a blur. "Earth ghosts! I've seen space phantoms, but they're usually just bio-luminescent gas clouds. I want to see a real Earth ghost! Maybe they can teach me how to phase through walls without using my Pass-Pass-Through-Pistol-kun!"

"Lala, it's not a field trip." Rito sighed, though he knew he'd already lost.

"We should go today! After school!" Lala declared. "Rito, me, Haruna-chan, Risa, and Mio! A group expedition!"

Risa's grin widened. "I'm in. It'll be great for my social media."

"I will bring a thermal scanner." Mio added.

Haruna looked like she wanted to crawl under the table, but the way Rito was holding her hand gave her a strange surge of bravery. Or perhaps, she simply didn't want to be left behind while Rito went into a dark building with four other girls.

"I'll... I'll go too." Haruna whispered, her face turning pink. "If Rito-kun is there... I'll be okay."

The Old School Building loomed over the back of the campus like a forgotten tomb. The wood was grey and weathered, the windows were clouded with decades of grime, and the ivy that climbed the walls looked like skeletal fingers trying to pull the structure into the earth.

The group stood at the threshold. The air here was noticeably colder, the wind whistling through the rotted eaves with a sound that mimicked a human sigh.

"Ready?" Risa asked, her bravado finally wavering as she looked at the heavy, rusted doors.

"Ready!" Lala pushed the doors. They creaked open with a groan that sounded like a dying animal.

As soon as the last of them stepped into the foyer — SLAM!

The doors flew shut behind them. Rito spun around, his hand already reaching for the handle. He pulled, but it didn't budge. It wasn't just locked; it felt like it had been welded shut.

"KYAAAAA!" Haruna shrieked.

In the pitch-black darkness of the foyer, Rito felt a sudden, heavy weight slam into his front. Haruna had lunged at him, her arms wrapping around his neck, her legs hooking around his waist in a literal koala-grip of pure terror.

"Rito-kun! Rito-kun! Don't let go! Don't leave me!" she wailed.

Rito stumbled back, his back hitting the locked door. "Haruna! Calm down! I'm right here!"

The position was incredibly compromising. Because of the height difference, Haruna's chest was pressed directly into his face. He could feel the frantic beating of her heart, and the soft, pillowy sensation of her breasts against his cheeks. His honest body flared, the heat rising in his face, his pulse racing, but he forced himself to stay focused. This wasn't the time for an accidental pervert moment.

"I've got you." Rito whispered into the crook of her neck, his hands supporting her thighs to keep her from falling. "I've got you. Now, take a deep breath."

"S-Sorry..." Haruna whispered, her voice muffled against his hair. Though she didn't let go, but she had stopped screaming.

"Wow, Haruna-chan is really taking advantage of the situation." Risa's voice came from the dark.

"Don't worry guys, I got this." Mio announced and activated her phone's flashlight.

A beam of light cut through the dust-filled air. The foyer was empty, save for some broken lockers and a thick layer of cobwebs.

"Let's move." Rito said, still carrying Haruna. He didn't mind the weight; with his new physiology, she felt as light as a feather.

They walked down the main hallway. The floorboards groaned, a rhythmic creak-creak-creak that seemed to follow them.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

Heavy footsteps echoed from the floor above. Then, the sound of something dragging, metal on wood.

"Something is up there." Rito murmured. His golden-brown eyes flickered in the dark, his senses sharpening. He felt someone's presence. It was a faint feeling... but it felt familiar.

They soon reached the grand staircase. A silhouette stood at the top, framed by the moonlight leaking through a hole in the roof. It was a girl with long, flowing hair and a black dress.

"The ghost!" Risa and Mio huddled together.

Rito stepped onto the first stair. He could sense the energy of that silhouette. This was the one that was giving him a familiar feeling.

"Yuuki Rito." the figure spoke. Her voice was flat, monotone, and entirely devoid of ghostly malice.

The figure stepped into the light. It was Yami. She was holding a bag of taiyaki-flavored chips, a single crumb on her lower lip.

"Yami-chan?" Rito exhaled, a wave of relief washing over him. He gently set Haruna down, though she kept a firm grip on his blazer.

"I was attempting to meditate." Yami said, her dark-red eyes fixed on Rito. "This building provides the necessary silence for deep contemplation. Your arrival has increased the decibel level by 400 percent. It is... troublesome."

"Yami-chan! You live in a haunted house? That's so cool!"

"No wonder you told us that you have a place to stay when we asked you to live with us!"

Lala ran up the stairs to hug her.

Yami sidestepped the hug with practiced ease. "It is not haunted, princess. It is merely poorly maintained."

PLINK. PLONK.

From the music room down the hall, a piano began to play. It wasn't a melody; it was a discordant, violent crashing of keys.

"If it's not haunted, Yami-chan." Risa whispered, pointing down the hall. "Then who is playing the piano?"

The sound grew louder. Suddenly, the double doors of the music room exploded outward. The grand piano itself came flying into the hallway, levitated by an unseen force. It didn't just move; it lunged, its wooden lid snapping like a pair of jaws.

"It's possessed!" Haruna cried.

"No." Yami said, her hair suddenly expanding. "It is being manipulated."

The piano accelerated, hurtling toward the group like a battering ram.

Rito stepped forward. He didn't wait for Yami to act. He felt the golden energy humming in his veins.

He didn't transform or anything, not that he could do it at will. Till now, his transformations have all been instinctual and Rito was training to use it actively. For now, he was yet to be successful, but his base strength was still more than enough. He simply stood his ground and threw a palm-strike at the air in front of him.

BOOM.

A shockwave of pure physical pressure met the piano. The instrument shattered, wood splinters and piano wire exploding in every direction.

Yami's hair turned into blades, spinning in a blur of gold and steel to deflect the larger pieces of debris.

One jagged shard of the piano's iron frame spun toward Haruna. Rito's hand blurred, a movement too fast for the human eye to follow.

CLANG.

He caught the iron shard mid-air. His grip was so strong the metal groaned and bent under his fingers. He dropped the ruined piece of iron to the floor with a heavy thud.

"Everyone, please stay behind me." Rito called out, his voice lacking his usual shy high schooler-vibe.

Haruna looked at his back. He looked broader, taller, cooler than she had ever imagined, she loved this dependable side of Rito's. The fear in her chest was being replaced by something else... a heat that made her heart race for an entirely different reason.

"Geeeeeet.... ooooouuuut...."

From the shadows of the music room, figures began to emerge. A skeleton with glowing red eyes. A zombie with a protruding ribcage. And behind them, a massive, three-eyed cephalopod alien with pulsing, translucent skin.

"I see," Yami noted, her hair-blades glowing. "They are low-level..."

"I don't care what they are." Rito said, stepping toward the monsters. "They tried to hurt my friends."

He cracked his knuckles, a faint golden aura beginning to shimmer around his fists and his eyes hummed with a golden hue.

"And that was a big mistake."
