Gareth and Anna are preparing to head to the banquet hall for his birthday dinner when a knock is on his door. Anna answers the door to find a beautiful blonde standing outside. "Can I help you?" Asks Anna. Rebecca is slightly flustered, and responds. "I was looking for Prince Gareths room, sorry to impose" Anna let's her into the room and Gareth asks, "I'm Prince Gareth, and who might you be?" Rebecca introduced herself and asked to speak to Gareth alone, after Anna leaves the room, Rebecca's expression turns ice cold. "Who is she, and why is she in your room?" Gareth surprised by the hostility, explains she is his friend and guard. "You are lucky to have me as a fiancee, and I'm watching you, you better not do anything inappropriate." Rebecca snears. Gareth barely concealing his anger replies. "This is how you introduce yourself? I have written to you multiple times and you never bothered to reply. I'm surprised you even showed up, you decided to ignore every other invitation from me." Gareth leaves the room, without waiting for her to reply, and Rebecca hesitant, looks like she wanted to say more, but realizes due to her tone, she lost her chance.
Inside the banquet hall, after the formal introductions are completed, Gareth sits by his mother, and has Anna sit next to him, forcing Rebecca to sit by Anna instead of himself as was expected of him. "Gareth why are you doing this to her?" Asks his mother. "Mom, she barged into my room after ignoring me for years, and tells me I'm lucky to have her, before threatening me. I know nothing about her other then her attitude is terrible." Gareth replies. "You can't just avoid her, you are both heading to the Academy together after all." His mother replies. "Mom, she never replied to a single letter, or invite, and your accusing me of avoiding her?" Gareth retorts. "Furthermore, I will also be taking Anna to the Academy. As my sworn guardian, she desires to accompany me." Antoinette realizes what might have upset Rebecca. "Gareth, was Anna with you when she met you?" Asks Antoinette. "Yes mother, but if she had a concern, she could have approached it in a civilized manner, instead of telling me how lucky i am when she is a complete stranger. Why should I feel lucky? As far as I'm concerned she has ignored me for years and obviously doesn't care about me or our relationship." Antoinette sighs, unable to argue, as the silence from their "allies" has been concerning indeed.
