Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Transmigration to Yan Jiang

Sean's mind felt agitated. When he opened his eyes, he began to rub his head. He didn't understand what had happened, but as he suddenly realized his surroundings, fear and confusion began to grip him. For the room he was in was completely unfamiliar. So foreign, in fact, that the style of the room was inappropriate for this era. The room contained old walnut furniture, and a pair of antlers hung on the wall. The window was covered in silver-embroidered velvet curtains, completely closed. The room's red walls and the interior radiated a cold grandeur. This old yet luxurious room was completely foreign to him. He quickly threw back the silk quilt and jumped out of bed. Fear welled within him, but he was also thrilled by an unimaginable thought.

But as soon as he got out of bed, a terrible pain suddenly assaulted his brain. He clutched his head in pain and his knees hit the hard ground with a loud "Bang!" "Argh! Argh!" He groaned and fell to the ground, but the pain only intensified. It was so bad, he felt like his brain was about to explode. The source of this pain was the memories that suddenly flooded into his brain.

After about 10 minutes, the pain and ache gradually faded. When Sean opened his eyes, he whispered, "Yan Jiang," to himself. Fear and excitement filled his eyes. Yes, he had passed away; into the body of this boy called Yan Jiang. Yan Jiang was dead, and he had likely died on Earth as well. Although pain swept through him for a moment, he didn't really care. Because no one on Earth loved him; he was an orphan. So, he didn't feel much pain, and although this new life felt strange, he knew he would adapt.

He immediately began organizing his memories in his head. The place he had migrated to was the Kingdom of Heiland, and the person he had migrated to was Yan Jiang, the only son of the Jiang family, a merchant family in the city of Farta in the Kingdom of Heiland. This world was filled with magic, swordsmanship, and supernatural powers. It resembled the Middle Ages of Earth; the royal system, the noble system, slavery—everything was present. It was as if it were an alternate world imbued with the presence of magic, he thought to himself. This world had a common language, and Sean thought it was similar to Latin. In his previous life, he had been fascinated by Latin; it was a magical language, and since he had inherited Yan's memories, he had learned the language automatically.

The biggest thing that excited Sean, in the first place, was the existence of magic and warriors in this world. Yes, there were magicians and swordsmen in this world. Sean had migrated to the fantastical world of the Middle Ages. But no matter how fantastical this world was, there were still fatal diseases. The previous owner of this body had been born with a disease called "Soul Decay," and he struggled with this illness until he was 15, unable to live a proper life. He died suddenly in his bed at 15, and as a result, I migrated.

And this body, due to the disease, was frail, thin, bloodless, wrinkled, and soulless. It resembled the body of an 80-year-old man, not that of a 15-year-old child. But now, he felt no sickness. Had the sickness disappeared after the previous soul died?

"No, no, it can't be! I hope the illness is gone, or has passed. I lived and died as nothing on Earth, never fulfilling any of my dreams, and I can't die in this world either. Especially not in a world as beautiful, magnificent, full of power and magic. This time, I will live with fulfillment, I will live by fulfilling my dreams," he swore to himself, resolutely and solemnly.

Sean stood up slowly and cautiously. This body was so weak from the illness. Even moving was like torture, painful and aching. With difficulty, he slowly stood up, supporting himself on the bed. "Huh, huh!" He was out of breath. Even that was a big problem. He truly felt sorry for Yan Jiang. This man was more unfortunate than a foot soldier who had encountered a polar bear in the desert. He smiled bitterly.

He moved slowly and slowly until he came to the mirror. He sighed sadly as he stood before it, aching and aching. This body was truly useless; a pale, wrinkled appearance, a thin, bony body. He had attractive, handsome features, and his eyes were beautiful and lush, but due to the illness and Yan Jiang's pessimistic thoughts in this situation, this handsomeness had faded, and his hair had fallen out.Looking at this pale and soulless face, with its sparse hair and bald head, he seemed to have. "Oh, fuck!" He sighed. Really, even though he was an orphan on Earth, his life was still better. He suddenly shouted: "Hey! Gods, Buddhas, Brahmas, or whoever else I can't even name, are you seriously kidding me? Do you think this is funny? I've read so many web novels, characters migrating to different worlds migrate to a handsome, powerful genius, with systems by their side, and great opportunities that will take them to the top, but me... I just migrated into this sickly body, with no features and no systems or tricks by my side! You couldn't find anyone else to make fun of, could you? Or do you find this funny, huh, huh, huh!" He was out of breath. He hadn't even fully expressed his feelings yet. What damn weakness was this! Even all this talking had exhausted him and left him breathless.

He was breathing heavily, his hands on his knees, when suddenly something flashed in front of him. "Tock!" he fell on his ass with a loud thud. "Argh!" It hurt, he was weak. "What was that?" he thought, when a glowing ball appeared in front of him. Sean jumped suddenly backwards. "Tock, tock!" He rolled over onto the hard, cold tiled floor, onto the animal hide carpet. "Argh! Argh!" It was already hurting. "Oh, this damn world, this damn disease and whatever its damn name is!" he shouted as he fell backwards.

But when he opened his eyes, the ball was still bright and shining before him. Still afraid, he lacked the strength to overreact, but he realized it was harmless, and the possibility of that legendary scenario suddenly occurred to him. He wondered if, like every migrant, he, too, had a trick up his sleeve.

At that moment, the door of the room opened. "Yan'er, Yan'er, are you okay?" a middle-aged woman with mature beauty and green eyes, wearing a luxurious emerald green outfit, entered, accompanied by maids. Sean looked at the woman. It was Yan Jiang's mother, Mei Jiang. Seeing her son fallen to the ground, a pained expression on her face, Mei immediately rushed to his side, worried. "Yan'er, my son, are you okay? What happened? Why did you fall down? Don't be afraid, your mother is with you, baby." Immediately, filled with concern and fear, she and the maids lifted her son from the floor and gently laid him back on the bed.

Mei sat next to her son on the bed, stroking his hair, her sparkling green eyes filled with worry. She knew her son's illness was progressing, and it was tearing her heart apart. It was incredibly painful for a mother to watch her son waste away day by day, drifting towards death, but she didn't want to show that side of herself to him, so she tried to soften her expression. But Sean caught this woman's sadness, her heartbreak, and felt it. It was a sight Sean had never been accustomed to. He had been an orphan in his previous life; the concept of mother, father, and family was far removed from him, but perhaps deep down, he had always harbored such a longing that it began to warm his icy heart.

She immediately smiled at her mother, "I'm fine, Mom. Don't worry. I feel like I'm slowly getting better," she said. Perhaps she didn't want to upset this woman any further, but she didn't feel the illness anyway. And she should send her away immediately so she could see what her trick was, right? And she could also truly accept the concept of family and this family. If she was going to get better, this family was beautiful, rich, and warm. She was the oldest child, with only one younger sister.

Mei blushed with joy at the bright smile on her child's pale face. For this was the first time her son had smiled since childhood. The smile on his face was as joyful and auspicious as the arrival of spring. The anxiety and sadness in her heart momentarily dissipated. "Perhaps God thought his son had suffered enough, took pity on him, and reversed his illness," she thought with joy and excitement. "Yan'er, do you want anything, son? And don't try to get out of bed alone again. You can call Sera whenever you want or need something," she said excitedly, quickly, pointing at Sera. Sera was the younger maid, Yan Jiang's personal maid. She was truly a beautiful girl; a young, beautiful woman with flawless brown skin, features that would be phenomenal if she were on Earth, slanted brown eyes, and straight brown hair that fell to her shoulders. Her breasts weren't the size she desired, but her figure and hips, which were just as big, made up for it.

Sean couldn't take his eyes off Sera for a moment, but his gaze immediately fell on the maid next to him. She had larger breasts and hips than Sera. Her blonde hair, her more beautiful facial features, and the maturity that came with her age made her much more attractive. But remembering that her mother was there, Sean quickly regained his composure and turned to her, saying, "Don't worry, Mom. I'll get help if I need anything, but right now, I need to get some rest."

His mother looked at her son's tired body, nodded understandingly, and added, "Okay, just rest, but if you need anything, just ring the bell. Sera will be right outside the door. Come on, Nessie, let's go." Nessie was the mature blonde's name. Mei and the maids went out. Finally, Sean was left alone.

On Earth, he had been a sex addict. He usually indulged himself. There were a few times, when the money he had left after paying for rent and other expenses was enough to pay for a brothel, that he could afford sex. Sean wasn't handsome on Earth, and he was poor, so girls weren't interested. "Sigh." He sighed. Truly, his life on Earth was miserable. He had been struggling with day-to-day trading, buying and selling, just barely surviving on what he earned. Perhaps that was why he had quickly accepted his new identity and life. Deep down, he had the feeling that this life was going to be a good one.He had the chance to enjoy life, to have what he wanted: power, wealth, beautiful women, and a warm family to boot. He silently said to himself, "Sean, could you ever have imagined something like this, you idiot? Dying was actually my escape from that shithole life. I'm sorry, Yan Jiang, your family is now my family; everything you have is mine. Don't worry, I'll protect our family in this world. So you can sleep soundly..." He waited a moment and then whispered, smiling: "Sean is dead. I am Yan Jiang now." He had completely accepted this identity.

He put these thoughts aside and immediately focused on the shiny ball. It was still there, and I guess only he could see it, but he still didn't know what it was for. Wouldn't a normal cheat be something like a panel, or a system that talked and gave tasks? Anyway. He tried to touch the shiny ball, and he actually managed to; he thought it was transparent. The moment he touched it, a light shone from the ball onto his head, and information started to flood his mind. This ball was called the "Lucky Ball." Every two years, it gave random gifts to its user. You shook the ball and let it fly. Gifts were given based on the user's situation and needs, and with a little luck, and right now, he had three swings, exclusive to the opening.

Yan Jiang was breathing heavily with excitement. He had three swings left. His anticipation was sky-high. He didn't know if this body's illness was gone, but there was a good chance it wouldn't. So, if he could find a miracle cure for this illness, it would be wonderful. His top priority right now was a cure for the illness. He had a new chance, a new life where he could fulfill his dreams and do whatever he wanted. He couldn't lose it once he started, right? he thought.

He began shaking the Lucky Ball. He shook it and released it into the air. The Lucky Ball, emitting a blue glow, began to tremble. As the tremors intensified, so did the light it emitted. Reaching its peak, it emitted a massive glow. Yan Jiang closed his eyes from the light. When he opened them, a bright red, heart-shaped fruit the size of an apple, emitting transparent glows, floated before him from Earth. Before he knew it, new information flashed into his mind from the Lucky Ball. This fruit was called the "Fallen Heart Fruit," one of this world's greatest treasures. This fruit possessed incredible healing powers, capable of resurrecting the dead. And its effects weren't limited to healing. It enhanced the eater's abilities, and it also altered and strengthened their bone and muscle structure.

Yan Jiang, mentally processing this information, was breathless with excitement. He began to take calm, deep breaths. This gift had completely surpassed his expectations. Its effect would not only cure his illness, but also grant him great abilities and a powerful physique. This was a tremendous gift to him, a gift he had feared to imagine, yet now it was floating before him. "I am truly receiving compensation for my suffering, aren't I?" he whispered quietly. His face was flushed with excitement.

Then he held the fruit and took a bite of it because he was worried that something bad would happen to him.
