Chapter 114 - Chapter One Hundred And Nine: 48 hours

Emma and Amy slipped quietly into the room. The lantern was dim, the curtains pulled, and Noah was stretched across the bed, fast asleep with one arm hanging off the side.

Emma walked over.

SLAP!

Noah jerked awake.

"…Huh? Wh— why?"

"We have information." Emma said.

Noah rubbed his cheek.

"You could've… tapped me."

"You don't wake up when we tap you." Amy said, shrugging.

Noah sat up slowly.

"Alright. What did you guys find out?"

Emma crossed her arms.

"First… I found the Scarlett."

Noah blinked.

"…You did?"

Emma raised an eyebrow.

"I know I told you to look for it. But I had a feeling you wouldn't."

Noah looked away.

"…Fair point."

Amy stepped forward, holding a stack of papers she stole from off the Marines ship.

"And I figured out the rare earth mineral." Amy said.

Noah leaned forward.

"Okay. What is it?"

"The rare earth minerals are exactly what we might think they are." Amy replied.

Emma frowned.

"Which is…?"

Amy looked at Noah.

"It's dragon corpse."

Emma screamed.

"WHAT—"

Amy slapped a hand over Emma's mouth.

"Are you trying to alert the Marines?!"

Emma shoved her hand away.

"You can't just SAY dragon corpse like it's normal!"

Noah scratched his head.

"…Ew. So they just… grind the corpse and make minerals?"

Amy shook her head.

"No. The corpse itself filters the ground. The land around the corpse absorbs the remains and naturally produces the rare minerals."

Emma stared.

"That's… extremely disturbing."

"These minerals are then used to make sea prism stone, and high-grade weapons."

Noah smirked.

"No wonder the Marines are guarding this island like treasure."

Before Emma could respond.

The door swung open.

A tall Marine officer stepped inside without knocking.

He stopped and looked at the trio.

"What are the three of you doing in one room?" he asked.

He then glared at Noah.

"And why aren't you with your fiancée?"

Noah stood up instantly.

"I was just talking to my sisters."

Emma and Amy nodded quickly.

Amy faked a smile.

"Yes, brother. We were just worried."

The Marine looked at them still finding all of this to be suspicious.

Noah walked toward the door.

"See you two in the morning."

Emma gave the Marine a cold glare.

"You can leave now."

The Marine flinched slightly before backing out of the room.

Noah knocked on Alice's door.

It opened instantly.

Alice leaned on the doorframe, staring at him with a fake sweet smile.

"You're late, honey."

Noah stepped inside.

"I was talking to my sisters."

Alice shut the door.

"This is getting so annoying," she muttered, walking back to her bed.

"Pretending all day, pretending at night… I swear these Marines never stop watching."

Noah shrugged.

"You're the one who said we were engaged."

Alice pointed at him.

"I panicked. You're a Pirate."

Noah sat on the edge of her bed.

"So where am I sleeping?"

Alice pointed at the floor.

"There."

Noah stared at the spot.

"…Hard ground? I'm not used to this, It's gonna hurt my back."

Alice smirked.

"You're an all-powerful pirate. I think your back will survive."

Noah grumbled as he lay down on a sheet on the floor.

"You say that, but I swear this floor is very hard…"

Alice flopped down onto her bed.

"Tomorrow is going to be worse," she said.

"The Marines are trying to take over the mineral site."

Noah folded his arms behind his head.

"Doesn't matter. I'll figure something out."

Alice turned her head slightly.

"Thanks."

Noah smirked.

"No problem love."

Alice threw a pillow at him.

He caught it instantly and put his head on it.

"Go to sleep," Alice said

"We need to look convincing again tomorrow."

Noah closed his eyes.

"Goodnight, fiancée."

Alice huffed.

"…Goodnight, idiot."
