Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 A Fate Like Hers

David's POV

Colter was absolutely livid. This was completely out of character for him. He never lost his temper like this. The man was usually a towering wall of composure, all muscle and controlled silence. He rarely raised his voice, barely spoke at all, and certainly never let anger consume him. When Colter had something to say, he used words, not violence.

The only time I had ever seen Colter reach this level of rage was years ago when we were still young and reckless. He had gotten into a brutal fight with Caleb back then, and both of them had emerged with serious wounds that took weeks to heal.

I twisted away from Colter's swing, stepping sideways to avoid the impact, but he charged forward like an enraged beast, launching another strike that I barely managed to dodge. Fighting him was the last thing I wanted right now. I knew I had screwed up badly, but that did not mean I was ready to let him pound me into the ground.

"Colter, just listen to me for a second—"
