"Why don't you go see for yourself? Su Han's parents passed away early. Aside from occasionally visiting me, he spends most of his time in his shop 'cultivating'... well, actually slacking off. Look, he earns some Mora, but instead of buying himself a courtyard, he keeps sending me gifts. These pastries and tea we're enjoying are all from him…"

As soon as Granny Ping mentioned Su Han, her words were filled with praise. A lively, respectful young man who honored the immortals, who wouldn't like someone like that?

Liuyun Borrowing the Wind True Lord lowered her head, looking at the table full of gifts. A faint hint of envy flickered in her eyes. Truth be told, she liked having visitors too.

But her first disciple was always busy, her second disciple suffered from heart troubles and rarely spoke, and her old friends were either secluded in cultivation or sneaking off to travel behind her back. She hardly had anyone to talk to these days.

Now, seeing Ping so well-loved, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy.

After a brief silence, Liuyun Borrowing the Wind True Lord said, "I didn't expect Su Han to be such a filial man. Very well, since I've eaten his pastries, I suppose I owe him a favor. I'll go and enlighten him a little myself."

"Then I'll thank you on his behalf," Granny Ping replied with a smile.

At the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.

Su Han arrived carrying a stack of comics.

"Zhongli, the new comic's out. Want to take a look? Hm? And this gentleman is…?"

When he saw the bard sitting across from Zhongli, he froze. A green cloak, a Cecilia flower in his hair, and two short green-tipped braids by his temples. Without question, the man before him was Barbatos, the Anemo Archon of Mondstadt, also known as Venti.

Wait a second… wasn't Mondstadt dealing with a dragon crisis? What was he doing here? Did he just abandon his city?!

Su Han realized he had completely underestimated how good this guy was at slacking off.

Venti, who had been drinking and chatting with Zhongli, noticed the comics in Su Han's hands. His eyes lit up instantly.

"A new comic? Let me see! Hehe, oh right, I almost forgot to introduce myself. I'm Venti, an old friend of Grandpa Zhongli here. You must be the dashing, handsome Su Han he mentioned, a pleasure to meet you!"

No one could resist a bit of flattery, and Su Han was no exception.

He burst into laughter. "Ah, Venti, you're an honest man! I like people like you. Here, take one, it's on me."

Su Han had one great weakness, he loved straightforward praise. Of course, if anyone insulted him, he'd show them "humanitarian annihilation" without hesitation.

Once the three of them sat down again, Su Han handed another copy to Zhongli. After all, it wouldn't do to leave the old man out.

Zhongli's eyes brightened as he examined the cover. "Under One Person? So this is the new comic?"

"Mm. I promised the immortals I'd help promote understanding between humans and them. I figured, what could be more direct than showing the cultivation process itself? It might also help those idle people realize that becoming an expert, or a disciple of an immortal, requires both talent and temperament."

"You are quite thoughtful," Zhongli said with a faint smile. But he suspected the comic in his hand was far from as simple as Su Han made it sound.

The two archons began reading. Compared to the martial arts comic Wind and Cloud, Under One Person was set in a more modern world, skyscrapers, academies, and all.

Though the story was about humans, Venti was completely absorbed. The thunder techniques and Golden Light Spell fascinated him.

Of course, those were only the smaller climaxes of Volume One.

From Volume Two onward...

The major factions began appearing.

The Four Madmen.

Mount Wudang.

The Ten Elders.

Everyone sought the origin of the Qi Body or the secrets hidden within Zhang Chulan.

And the best part came near the end, the battle between Zhuge Qing and Wang Ye.

"Zhongli, who do you think will win? That panda-eyed Wang Ye, or the handsome Zhuge Qing?"

"I cannot say for certain," Zhongli replied. "The information is insufficient. But by general reasoning, I'd wager on Wang Ye, the one with dark circles. People who act lazy like that often hide great strength. When such a person seriously tells his opponent to back off, it means he's confident of victory."

That was precisely the kind of man Su Han was, someone who hid his true strength until it mattered.

Venti nodded repeatedly. "Makes sense! Huh... divination can actually predict fortune and misfortune? That's so cool!"

In the comic, just before their final clash, Wang Ye said to Zhuge Qing, "Since we're both practitioners, why don't you divine your own fate? Use your so-called fortune-seeking method and see how this fight will end. I'll say one thing only: Go back. That's what's best for you."

Such arrogance!

Moments later, a terrifying Qi burst from Zhuge Qing's body.

He said darkly, "Master Wang, I just divined my fate, and the result was four words: a moth to the flame."

The omen said it all, yet Zhuge Qing refused to back down, unleashing his powerful Qimen Arts.

But not only did they fail, Wang Ye countered with the same techniques, and crushed him.

Even more shocking, his fire-based spells, which should have restrained the wood element, were instead absorbed by plants.

Venti gasped in delight. "Oh~ this Master Wang is amazing!"

Completely overwhelmed, Zhuge Qing began to falter, and just as the fight reached its climax, the comic abruptly ended.

Venti was left hanging mid-hype. "Eh? That's it?!" He turned to Su Han with wide eyes. "It's over already? The fight just started!"

Su Han stifled a laugh. "That's all for now, just two volumes so far. If you want the rest, you'll have to wait a couple of days. Maybe tomorrow if things go well."

"What?! No way! I came all the way from Mondstadt because I couldn't see Wind and Cloud's ending, and now, i've fallen into another trap?! Ugh! I shouldn't have started reading!"

Realizing his situation, Venti nearly broke down. For a binge-reader like him, nothing was worse than being left on a cliffhanger.

He whined pitifully, "Are you sure there'll be an update tomorrow?"

After all, he didn't have much free time, Mondstadt still needed him.

Su Han thought for a moment. "Maybe. Anyway, as long as the new comic sells six hundred copies, the next volume can be printed."

"There's a sales limit?"

Venti had never heard of such a ridiculous rule. He'd heard of authors lacking inspiration, but a six-hundred-copy quota to unlock the next chapter? What kind of nonsense was that?

Su Han spread his hands helplessly. "I've already written the story, but the printing press I use was passed down from my parents. As for why it's bound by this rule, I have no idea. But Venti, if you're that desperate to read more, why not help me promote it? I'll pay you two thousand Mora a day, in honor of Zhongli's face."

"Really?"

Venti's eyes sparkled. The offer was tempting, he'd get to see the new chapters sooner and earn Mora. A win-win deal!

Besides, Dvalin had just fallen asleep; things should be fine for a while.

Without hesitation, Su Han slapped two thousand Mora onto the table, the gesture of a shameless capitalist.
