Chapter 80 - Chapter 80 Fuzzy Regression Mechanism

As the three Mutants died completely, three gray-white sources, more distinct than those of the other Mutants, merged into Chris's body.

From their color, it was evident that these three Mutants were stronger than those in the mine shaft.

However, similarly, these three life sources were still missing one-third of their quantity.

At this moment, Ruby walked over dazedly, staring blankly at the pile of minced meat.

Only Chris could sense her emotion was one of relief and liberation; otherwise, he would have thought the girl was grieving the death of her family.

However, her lack of sorrow indicated that her experience within the Mutant tribe might have been similar to Megan's, or even worse.

Yet, this girl had one thing better than Megan: she wasn't as ugly as Megan.

Yes, although Chris didn't want to hurt his cheap sister's pride, even this girl, who could be called a Mutant Girl, was much better looking than Megan.

After silently dissing Megan, Chris turned and asked, "Does your tribe have any ancient ancestors? Or have you come into contact with any mysterious powers?"

Ruby, who was contemplating life, heard Chris's question. Without pondering his intention, she thought for a moment and replied, "Reporting to master..."

"Just call me boss. That old-fashioned stuff is outdated. Nowadays, slaves are expected to support themselves, and slave owners don't need to care about their slaves' health anymore."

Curious about what Chris meant, Ruby still obediently said, "Okay, boss!"

After responding, she continued, "The one in the middle just now was the eldest of our clan; he was the father of all of us. As for the mysterious power you mentioned, I only know that father said eating people can make us stronger. I wonder if that counts?"

"Eating people to gain power?" Chris murmured, repeating the phrase.

This method of acquiring supernatural power sounded like something from the evil demonic path. However, in various horror movies, such methods were not uncommon, so Chris couldn't immediately confirm which type this was.

Based on the available information, Chris could confirm one thing: the entity competing with him for life sources was the one that granted these Mutants their supernatural powers.

And knowing such an entity existed made things simpler.

Chris wasn't afraid of a powerful opponent; he was only afraid of an entity without a physical form, like Death.

If it were like that, he would have to find a way to harm it before he could retaliate.

However, if the opponent had a physical body, then judging by the strength of the Mutants it blessed, its power wouldn't be excessively overwhelming.

At least it wouldn't reach a level that humans in this world couldn't handle.

After all, if the opponent had the power to annihilate humanity in this world, it wouldn't just create a few Mutants to accumulate power for itself.

And as long as the opponent couldn't surpass the level of modern humans, then for Chris, it would just be a matter of dropping a few nuclear bombs.

For him, with his interdimensional space, the most troublesome part would simply be acquiring a few nuclear warheads.

After analyzing the potential enemy he might face, Chris relaxed considerably and then headed in another direction.

Seeing that Chris wasn't going back to the RV to return the infant, Ruby paused for a moment before following him.

Chris noticed the Mutant Girl's mind was full of questions, so he explained, "There's a lone human over there, who should be this infant's father. Instead of letting him wander aimlessly in the wilderness, it's better to bring the infant directly to him."

Hearing Chris's explanation, Ruby nodded knowingly. She truly shouldn't doubt her master's wisdom.

With Chris and the Mutant's speed, it wasn't long before they caught up with a man walking a wolfdog.

Chris told Ruby to wait there, and he alone, carrying the infant, hurried forward.

"Woof woof woof! Woof woof woof!"

"What's wrong, Beast?"

Hearing the wolfdog barking incessantly, Dau curiously looked towards where the wolfdog was barking, and then he saw a dark figure walking towards him.

"Who's there? Stand still!"

Sensing a stranger approaching, Dau immediately raised his gun at the person, and then, seeing the person not stop, he pulled the trigger directly.

Bang!

"Wah wah wah!"

The gunshot startled the infant in Chris's arms awake. Dau recognized his daughter's cry, and he rushed towards the dark figure in a panic.

"Catherine! Catherine!"

At this moment, he didn't care if the dark figure was the Mutant who had attacked them earlier; he simply rushed towards the direction of the infant's crying.

Upon getting closer, Dau realized that the one holding his daughter was a tall and powerful young man.

"It seems you are this infant's father. Here, hold her tight!"

Looking at the disheveled middle-aged man, Chris handed the infant in his arms to him, then turned and left.

Chris had no desire to communicate with such ordinary people.

If it weren't for the infant, Chris wouldn't even bother to meet the man.

After all, this guy wasn't some beauty who could feast Chris's eyes.

After returning the infant, Chris found Ruby, and then took her to the next place where there were Mutants.

It wasn't a mine shaft, and there were only a few Mutants there.

So Chris confirmed that it was the small town built by the American government to simulate nuclear tests, and also another dwelling place for Ruby's Mutant tribe.

No longer needing to worry about the infant, Chris took the Mutant Girl and began to fly close to the ground.

Although Chris's current burst speed could already break the sound barrier, which meant he could travel by stepping on the air.

However, a regrettable point was that his clothes did not support him doing so.

Coupled with the addition of a small follower, this prevented Chris from moving at full speed.

But even so, after nearly ten minutes, he still arrived in front of a small town.

By this time, the sky was already faintly lit, but Chris didn't need to wait for daylight to attack; he didn't even plan for close-quarters combat.

Raising his hand, he pulled out the rocket launcher from his interdimensional space and directly aimed at the town, beginning to bombard it.

Under Ruby's astonished gaze, one high-explosive and thermobaric shell after another was fired into the town.

Dozens of seconds later, the town before them was completely reduced to ruins, and three streams of gray-white energy flew into Chris's body one after another.

After activating his Doom Radar and sensing no signs of life in the area, Chris put away the rocket launcher.

Then Chris curiously looked at Ruby, the last Mutant, and a crucial character in the original movie.

Just as Ruby was filled with curiosity from being stared at, Chris spoke, "Let's go. Do you know where other Cannibal Tribes are? I'll wipe them out while I'm at it."

Ruby nodded and walked ahead to lead the way, while Chris thought perplexedly, 'What exactly is this return mechanism? It doesn't seem to have anything to do with me killing all the monsters that appeared in the original work!'

Chris had just discovered that after killing all the Mutants except Ruby, he didn't have the premonition of returning.

That's why he kept staring at Ruby, guessing whether he also needed to kill her to return.

If it really worked that way, then Chris would be able to control his return time in the future, and he could settle the score with the entity that was snatching his origin in this world.

Unfortunately, under Chris's gaze, his intuition told him that the return mechanism had nothing to do with these things.

This was why Ruby truly escaped a calamity.
