Chapter 81 - Chapter 81 The Chainsaw Killer?

On the wilderness of New Mexico, a modified truck was speeding.

If someone could see the driver, they would find that the person driving this truck was actually a beautiful young girl.

"It seems your recovery ability is quite good! It's only been less than a month, and you've already fully recovered."

Chris rested his hands behind his head, propped his feet on the front window sill, and chatted with his little follower with interest.

"This is all thanks to your secret medicine, Boss. Without their help, I couldn't have repaired this severed arm."

"Haha, I just wanted to do a test, but I didn't expect the dragon blood potion to be so powerful. It can even help you repair genetic damage."

Chris looked at Ruby, who had undergone a complete transformation, and was very surprised by Dumpling's research capabilities.

After he, led by Ruby, cleared out the other Cannibal Tribes in that mine tunnel, Chris discovered that those guys' life essence was also missing by a third.

From this, Chris determined that these Cannibal Tribes were also blessed by some unknown entity.

And the way that entity obtained power was definitely related to cannibalism.

By understanding the various strange stories on this land, Chris finally narrowed down to two most likely monsters.

One was the Wendigo, a supernatural monster from Native American legends that gains power through cannibalism.

The other was the Ogre from European folklore.

Considering his current location, Chris didn't even need to think much; he directly and assertively confirmed that the entity above these Cannibal Tribes, who blessed them, was a Wendigo.

Or rather, it wasn't a blessing; it was just that these guys, by performing the ritual of cannibalism, which most aligned with the concept of a Wendigo, naturally gravitated towards becoming a Wendigo.

Perhaps it was precisely because of this that after Chris killed those cannibal monsters, a portion of their essence was received by the Wendigo.

After all, the Wendigo was the pioneer of the concept of gaining power through cannibalism; it was entirely possible for him to strip power from his juniors.

And after confirming this, there was naturally nothing more to say.

Chris spent a few days getting a truck and a large amount of weapons and equipment, then set off with Ruby on a journey to eradicate Ogres.

To enable Ruby to better serve as his assistant, Chris even gave her a bottle of dragon blood potion, wanting to see if it could repair her severed limb.

He just didn't expect the potion's effect to be so good; not only did it reattach her severed arm, but it also removed the genetic damage, directly turning her back into a normal person.

Furthermore, because she had previously undergone a cannibalistic ritual for supernatural transformation, her life level was quite a bit higher than that of ordinary people.

Fortunately, it was only slightly higher, not completely surpassing the level of ordinary people.

Otherwise, after Chris left, her only food option might be humans.

That was not what Chris wanted.

But like this, it was very good; ordinary human food could satisfy Ruby's consumption, and there was no need to worry about her continuing to evolve into a Wendigo.

However, similarly, because her life level was only slightly higher than that of ordinary people, her strength was not overly exaggerated.

Even during the night, which was most suitable for dark creatures, Ruby's pure strength would not exceed three hundred kilograms, barely reaching the extreme level of an ordinary person.

And if it were daytime, her strength would even be epically weakened, directly reduced to less than a third.

According to Chris's tests, it was just over ninety kilograms.

Although still stronger than most ordinary people, it was also too weak.

The reason he could confirm this was because one day Chris and Ruby overslept, which resulted in Chris's two-hundred-kilogram body pressing down on Ruby, almost crushing the newly recovered girl.

It was only after that incident that Chris gave up the idea of being on top during the day.

And through this conversation with Ruby, Chris also confirmed one thing.

That is, if he wanted to play poker with someone in the future, he couldn't rely on ordinary human girls at all.

At the very least, he had to find those who had initially surpassed ordinary people; otherwise, with his weight, he could really crush someone if he wasn't careful.

In fact, as Chris's weight increased, the caliber of poker partners he sought would also increase, and eventually, he would only be able to find true supernatural beings as poker partners.

Because as he digested the life essence of the Ogres these past few days, Chris found that with the blessing of life essence, his weight began to increase again; after measuring this morning, it had already reached over two hundred and twenty kilograms, and was about to break the two hundred and thirty barrier.

Fortunately, Chris could travel between different universes, so finding some supernatural-level poker partners was not difficult, and thus Chris was not worried.

"This must be Texas! I wonder if there will be a Texas Chainsaw Massacre here?"

Seeing the road sign nearby, Chris sat up and spoke with great enthusiasm.

Then he asked Ruby, "By the way, Ruby, have you seen the movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre? It's a classic masterpiece in the history of horror films and also pioneered a new genre of slasher films."

Ruby, who was driving, heard her boss's question, thought about her meager film reserves, and shook her head, saying, "No, Boss. I did hear from my tribesmen that about a decade ago, there was a family in Texas who liked to kill people with chainsaws, but I've never seen such a movie."

"Oh?" Chris was surprised, and then he remembered that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre had a prototype, so he continued, "What you're talking about should be the real prototype of this movie! I just don't know if they would become Wendigo-ized because of cannibalism?"

Ruby heard Chris mention the name Wendigo again and immediately became curious about what kind of creature it was that made her boss, who possessed unique abilities, so concerned.

However, since Chris didn't speak first, she wouldn't ask proactively. For Chris, who had given her a new life, Ruby had long regarded him as her god.

She would only believe him wholeheartedly and obey him.

Chris noticed that the little girl's favorability towards him had increased again, and he was curious about what she had imagined to make her favorability overflow.

But before Chris could ask, he heard a burst of gunshots, and then he poked his head out to look.

Then he saw a car speeding behind them, and the gunshots were made by a young man in the passenger seat casually firing a revolver.

Seeing that it was two rebellious teenagers messing around, Chris pulled his head back into the car and then ignored them.

However, Chris didn't want to bother with them, but the two young men didn't want to let Chris go.

When Chris stuck his head out to observe them, they naturally saw Chris too.

After exchanging glances, the young man holding the revolver aimed the gun at the truck's rearview mirror and then pulled the trigger.

However, the young man's marksmanship was not good; the first shot went wide and did not hit the rearview mirror.

Seeing the other party make a move towards him, Chris was not going to give them a chance for a second shot. He raised his hand, pulled out a rocket launcher, and fired a shot at the car of the two energetic young men.

After a booming explosion, the two energetic young men and their car turned into a pile of junk.

"What an eyesore, ruining my good mood!"

Chris put away the rocket launcher, looked at the still burning car wreckage in the truck's rearview mirror, and then cursed.

However, after calming down, Chris realized that the two energetic young men looked a bit familiar; he seemed to have seen them in some movie.
