"Hello, everyone!" The announcer said, their voice was rather calm. "Today, we have another race at our race course."
The sound of faint chatter was entering my ears as I entered the field last, I looked at the competition once more to make sure my data was correct. Seeing that there was no one that was worth my attention, I let myself go onto autopilot expecting another win.
That was until I felt like a strong presence looking at me. My tail quickly settled as fast as it stiffened from the presence, I let my eyes wonder, wondering if it was from one of the racers but I didn't see from where this feeling came from.
Turning my head, I looked towards the stands to see if it came from there but didn't see anything. The presence has long since disappeared as quickly as it appeared.
I didn't let myself fall into a sense of overwhelming uneasy as that could cost me a win-
Who am I kidding, even if I was in such a state, the fact is, there is no one in the regional that could still win against me.
I stretched my body until we were called in to gates.
------
'So this is the boy that was being recommended.' A brown haired Uma thought to herself. She looked down onto a piece of paper filled with data and a picture of Hayate North.
'To think that there will be another outstanding Uma coming from this place.' She thought her eyes going back up to watch the race.
"All the racers are now in their gates...The race now begins!!" The announcer shouted with gusto.
The gates opened with all the Uma's almost leaving at the exact time. Hayate would leave the gates with an almost perfect entrance to the race.
"He has a good start." the brown haired Uma said to herself, her hands writing on a second empty piece of paper.
Hayate stayed in the middle of the pack, the race for today had a total of 10 runners, he was placed in 5th currently.
The Uma looked to see the ears of Hayate twitched and moving as if listening to the sounds around him.
'Is he listening to the sound of the runners? The sound of wind should be making that rather hard.' she thought to herself. 'add on the fact that there are multiple noises coming from different angles, him locking on to a particular sound would be rather improbable.'
The Uma would go on to watch Hayate run for the rest of the race until she noticed something that he was doing.
'Is he seriously slowing down on purpose?' she watched in confusion as Hayate suddenly slowed down, causing the Uma behind him that was trying to mark panic slightly, causing them to slow down as well, destroying their rhythm.
"He's causing panic in the other racers...." she said, Hayate would then rush up to behind a Uma that was running out of steam, he placed down his footsteps with more force, pressuring the Uma.
"What a strategic way of racing." she scoffed, "To use your keen sense of hearing and mental prowess...." she muttered, her fingers moving about as she written on the paper that was starting to get filled with notes.
"What an interesting Uma." she smirked.
The racers would leave the last corner, with Hayate starting his spurt. Compared to the others, he was overwhelmingly fast, he would quickly reach the first place Uma and pass them with no difficulty. He ran farther and farther eventually reaching a 5 length lead before passing the finish line.
"There you have it folks, Hayate North's 8th win!!" he said his voice was similar throughout the entire race, as if this was the expected result. Hayate North would than make the same bow as his first win.
"He might make things interesting in the future....."
----------
Leaving the Field, I walked towards the changing rooms before being stopped by a brown haired Uma who was waiting at the exit gate. Her eyes seem to be piercing through me, like as if trying to understand my reasoning for life. I looked at her, trying to find something to finger her out but her tail was completely still and her ears were calm.
It was easy to tell that she was here for me with how she was staring at me.
Her hair was sealed to the right of her face, a single strand at the front. Her eyes were a form of blue but in the middle of it the color slightly faded into pink. She wore a school uniform, a mostly white and purple color skim, with light purple at the sleeves.
"You're Hayate North, correct." she said , her voice a steady calm and in a way, it was rather eerie.
"Yeah, do you need something from me?" I kept my voice calm, keeping my line of sight in her eyes.
"My name is Air Groove and I have come here to tell you that your trainer has made it to have you transferred to Central."
"Alright."
"?" her face looked at me slightly confused from something.
"Why do you look confused, I'm being transferred, that is it."
Her eyes slightly squinted but she let out a small breath from her mouth. "It'll take a bit but you should be ready to transfer in about a week's time, so get you things ready for then." she said before turning around and leaving.
I looked at her for a while before I left as well.
There was a huge smile on my face, the excitement of what I just heard was affecting my heart but there was a good reason for such a thing, after all..
I was getting closer to defeating that Beast.
--------
Short chapter again, sorry but I am get things along to get him into central as best as I can do, which isn't great honestly, and get into the more important parts, the actual racing and the training/time between than.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter and please give me some criticism. Next chapter might not be release tomorrow but it should be out this week.
