Chapter 2 - First Meditation

Lu Yuan walked into Nuoding Academy without any obstruction; in fact, the gatekeeper, having just been reprimanded by Grandmaster, didn't even dare to directly check Lu Yuan's credentials.

The enrollment process was very simple. When Director Su of Nuoding Academy's teaching department learned that Lu Yuan's Spirit was Innate Full Spirit Power, he immediately took charge and handled Lu Yuan's enrollment.

Lu Yuan even received a private dormitory, and all tuition and miscellaneous fees were waived.

"Thank you, Director Su."

Lu Yuan took his credentials and said gratefully to Director Su, who had helped him complete the enrollment.

"You're welcome, Xiao Yuan, let's go. I'll personally take you to your dormitory."

Director Su smiled slightly. It was just a waiver of tuition and miscellaneous fees. Not to mention that the Dean wouldn't care, even if the Dean disagreed, he would be willing to pay out of his own pocket to forge a good relationship.

Although he didn't know what Lei Yi's Spirit was, Innate Full Spirit Power destined Lu Yuan to become a strong person in the future.

Director Su stood up and led Lu Yuan out of the office towards Nuoding Academy's dormitories.

Nuoding Academy's dormitories were divided into two buildings for work-study students and self-funded students. The place Director Su arranged for Lu Yuan would naturally not be too bad.

It could even be described as somewhat secluded, with complete furnishings and a new set of bedding on the bed.

With this environment, one could Move in directly without needing to spend money on purchases.

Director Su glanced at the environment inside the dormitory, a hint of satisfaction flashing in his eyes: "Xiao Yuan, you'll stay here. If you need anything, just come directly to me. Once you've decided on your first spirit ring, just tell me directly."

"Thank you, Director. This place is very good. I will consider the matter of the first spirit ring as soon as possible."

Looking at the fully furnished, Move-in ready environment, Lu Yuan had nothing to complain about.

As an orphan, Lu Yuan's financial situation was not very substantial. Even if he were to live in the work-study dormitory, he would have no complaints.

Not to mention the obvious preferential treatment he was receiving now. The complete waiver of tuition and miscellaneous fees was a significant help to Lu Yuan.

Attending Nuoding Academy, aside from work-study students, self-funded students paid one gold coin per academic year. This gold coin was nothing to wealthy families, but for him now, it was indeed not a small sum.

Moreover, Director Su was also offering to help him hunt for a spirit ring, which could definitely be called a timely help.

"Alright, then I'll be going. There's a lot of information about Spirit Beasts in the library. The Academy also has a Grandmaster who's been freeloading for over a decade. If you need him, I'll go invite him to take a look for you."

Who was the freeloading theoretical Grandmaster? Of course, it was Yu Xiaogang.

After seeing Director Su off, Lu Yuan finally had time to begin researching his Spirit.

As the king of electric-type Spirits, Lei Yi could be said to have almost no weaknesses.

However, as a Spirit, Lei Yi seemed to have been somewhat homogenized. Now, besides a Thunder God Domain, he hadn't awakened any of Lei Yi's other abilities.

Could it be that his Rank was too low, preventing some abilities from being released at all?

Or was it due to other issues that he couldn't release abilities? This was indeed a bit regrettable.

If he truly inherited Lei Yi's vast skill pool, it would be an enormous help for his journey on the Douluo Continent.

Spirit Masters on the Douluo Continent first needed to acquire a spirit ring to release Spirit Abilities, and a Spirit Master only had nine Spirit Abilities, which could often lead to the awkward situation of having no Move to use in battle.

As for self-created Spirit Abilities, there was no need to say more; most of the information was held by various major powers.

Without the guidance of a Senior, creating a self-created Spirit Ability of one's own could be said to be incredibly difficult, and might even waste one's talent.

As for how to choose his first spirit ring, he definitely had to choose a thunder-attribute Spirit Beast first, and then a Spirit Beast that combined both thunder attribute and speed. Only then could Lei Yi's true potential be better developed.

After all, Lei Yi's greatest strengths were attack and speed. Although other aspects were not weak, they were ultimately lacking in terms of cost-effectiveness.

Snapping out of his thoughts, Lu Yuan immediately began his first meditation.

It was still early, and he planned to meditate for a while before going to the cafeteria, and then to the library to see if he could find a suitable Spirit Beast.

As for consulting Yu Xiaogang, he decided against it. Regarding understanding Lei Yi, Lu Yuan would say he was second on the Douluo Continent, and no one would dare claim to be first.

Moreover, he didn't believe Yu Xiaogang could give him any good advice. After all, just based on Yu Xiaogang turning Tang San's first Spirit Ability into Binding, he wasn't worthy of his trust.

Blue Silver Grass, as a plant-type Spirit, could be said to have Binding as an instinct. Making Binding a Spirit Ability was simply a waste.

Datura Snake, as Tang San's first Spirit Ability, mostly provided paralyzing toxins. Other enhancements to the Blue Silver Grass might not even be as good as an ordinary hundred-year-old green vine.

In the Late Stage, if Tang San's Blue Silver Grass hadn't awakened the Blue Silver EmperorBloodline, it might have truly become a useless Spirit under Yu Xiaogang's guidance.

Consulting such a theoretical Grandmaster, Lu Yuan was genuinely afraid that he would be told to acquire some unreliable Spirit Beast.

Falling into meditation for the first time, Lu Yuan was immediately completely captivated by the miraculous scene.

Immersed in meditation, he seemed to perceive the wisps of spirit power between heaven and earth. He could clearly sense himself absorbing these spirit power into his body.

Fine currents of electricity constantly flickered on his body surface. His physique seemed to be silently strengthening as these currents circulated.

This wondrous sensation immediately made Lu Yuan open his eyes from meditation.

He did indeed notice that as he meditated, the electrical currents appearing on his body would silently strengthen his cells.

Could it be that he could also absorb spirit rings beyond his Rank? After all, most spirit rings from ten thousand years ago could be absorbed as long as one's physical strength kept up.

It seemed that the bodies of Spirits like Lei Yi and Gaea were all of an extremely abnormal type. Traversing the Universe was not too big of a problem at all.

Thinking of this, Lu Yuan couldn't help but fall into longing. If he could truly become like Lei Yi in the future, he would have no regrets in this life.

Falling into meditation again, this time the familiar feeling once again filled his heart.

It seemed that it was indeed as he had guessed. As he meditated, the electrical currents appearing on his body would truly constantly strengthen his cells, ultimately enhancing his physical fitness.

This was much more useful than eating any whale glue. Moreover, although whale glue wasn't that expensive in this era, it had considerable side effects.

Wisps of spirit power were continuously absorbed by Lu Yuan into his body. Although Cultivate could not increase his spirit powerRank now, the spirit power absorbed into his body would be retained and would all be boosted after acquiring a spirit ring.
