Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: The Isosceles Tournament. V

It was time for Event Four, and the tournament was drawing to an end. Everyone was restless, wondering who would end up winning.

It would seem that, like last year, Haywood and Toleran would end up fighting for the title, much to their dismay.

The next challenge was tactical command simulation. It would be a command-level scenario. Each cadet would be given partial intel, a limited number of simulated units, and a time limit to plan and execute an operation. They wouldn't be fighting directly, as their jobs would be to command. The elimination rule was simple for this round as well. Failure to complete objectives, unacceptable casualty rates, or bad decision-making would result in elimination.

This event was all about foresight, moral judgment, and adaptability. It was meant to call out the great fighters but poor leaders and to reinforce the academy's main objective: building capable soldiers, future commanders, and more than just weapons.
